Summary: GREAT movie But my Collectors Ed DVD was loaded with skips!
Review: In my opinion, Animal House is the funniest movie ever. I bought the Collector's Edition DVD with high hopes for a great A/V transfer, which I got, but towards the 30th chapter, I had a good 5 or 6 solid skips! This is no way to enjoy one of the funniest movies ever! I'm a little disappointed, but I gave the film 5 stars because it's so funny.

Summary: The reason we all went to college.
Review: You've heard the good, now here's the bad. Umm... John Belushi is dead, co-workers quote it a lot(not as much as Fletch), and you wonder if that tie was really silk. Okay, not much bad to say about it...

Summary: DVD info...
Review: the dvd info at the top of the page is wrong, the picture is sharp throught. the sound also, is better than what one would expect reading the technical info at the top of the page (but there is no surround). if a standard vhs tape is 200 lines of resolution, you get at least 370 with the this dvd, and that is short of the 500 lines that most dvd's get. but it is still much better than a vhs or s-vhs. and this refers only to the collectors edition (not the yellow cover). the extras on the dvd are also very nice. all in all, the dvd is worth the money, from the widescreen presentation to the increased picture quality, to the extras on the dvd.

Summary: Fat, Drunk and Stupid Is No Way To Go Through Life
Review: "Animal House" is perhaps the greatest American comedy ever filmed. John Belushi literally takes over this movie and proves beyond a doubt his genius. He has some hilarious dialogue, but his silent scenes are amazing. Belushi had one of the most expressive faces in film; when he raises an eyebrow or leers just right, you see exactly what his character thinks. His death, in 1982, robbed us of a uniquely charismatic actor/comedian.

Belushi plays Bluto, one of the seedier members of Faber College's degenerate, fun-loving Delta fraternity. We view Delta's uninhibited antics through the eyes of freshman pledges Pinto (Tom Hulce) and Flounder (Stephen Furst). They join Bluto, Otter (Tim Matheson), Boon (Peter Reigert) and the rest in their war against sobriety, conformity... and Dean Wormer (the great John Vernon). The Deltas party, Wormer tries to throw them off campus, aided by various uptight student types led by the smarmy Greg Marmalard (James Daughton). Features no plot to get in the way of the chaos.

This movie takes chances few films today dare take, and, unlike a lot of our current gross-out movies, it does so with genuine wit. Patriotism, honesty, sobriety, chastity, the American Way, race relations, conservatism, liberalism, intelligence, stupidity- you name the sacred cow, this movie slaughters it, grinds it up, cooks it medium-well and serves it up on a poppyseed bun with an order of fries.

The "Special Edition" includes a sweet widescreen print of the film (a little dark in places, though), biographies/filmographies of the actors and a fun featurette, "Animal House Reunion," which features many of the original stars as they reminisce about making the movie.

What are you waiting for? Do whatever you must to possess this movie- you will thank me later.

Summary: A Movie with a few flaws
Review: I give it 5 stars though because it was good, I like my funny movies with a little slapstick like Airplane and The Naked Gun, because Movies that are done from people on SNL are just not funny for a reason, I prefer John Hughes Movie's More than this stuff, Animal House was good but you need to see it twice, to know what it is. I like this movie because It had people rebeling against the college and that I loved.

Summary: Groundbreaking
Review: This movie was most likely the first film to parody Fraternity life at College. And it sucedes greatly at doing that. Otter, Bluto, Dean Wormer, Flounder, and many others are portrayed with great hillarity. Not for pre teen kids and probably not for most senior citizens but anyone who can reminisce about the good old days of college parties will love this one. Its a classic in its own light.

Review: AN ALL TIME FAVORITE OF MINE!!!

Summary: Pure teen anarchy
Review: If you haven't spent your life in a hippie community, it is unavoidable that you become a part of some certain social circle, abandoning the possibilites of the other social group. The relationship between these two social groups isn't necessarily hostile, but often the groups don't share too high respect towards the others. Now, as far as I understand, this kind of a situation is most common in the states where you unavoidably find yourself chatting with the sport junkies, the nerds, the hippies or such. This movie is a fantastic description of that situation, and an exciting example of some sort of alternative social circle. As I watched the movie, I often found myself impressed by the unity of the group, although there aren't so clearly divided social circles in Kitee's Lukio (senior high), or if there is, at least it ain't so hostile as bac there. Anyway, the film itself was most entertaining piece of "art" and featured plenty enjoyable and hilarious moments, but what really made this movie stick into my mind was the forementioned alternative anarchy. Something I admire. Truely.
