Summary: This One's A Sizzler!
Review: 'Paris When It Sizzles' is a funny, light-hearted masterpiece that is made even better by the two brilliant stars, Audrey Hepburn and William Holden.

Holden plays a famous writer who hires Hepburn to be his typist. But she is not too pleased when he reveals to her that he has not written anything yet, or even thought about the story line! So with only two days to get the script finished, the couple set about coming up with a plot, adding romance, twists, humour, switches, switches on switches, and switches on switches on switches!

The script is then brought to life by the imagination of Holden and Hepburn. With Holden playing the main man, and Hepburn playing the main girl. And also other roles played by Tony Curtis, and a cameo from Audrey's husband at the time Mel Ferrer.

This is an enjoyable film that won't leave you asking any questions. It is one Hepburn and Holden's best. Definitely not one to miss.

Summary: At least I liked it......
Review: As I write this, I realize that this movie is perhaps the most maligned film in either Audrey Hepburn or William Holden's catalogues. I will admit, the film is not perfect, and the love story between the two leads is not the most convincing love story out there, but the movie is fun to watch.

The story involves a writer and a typist who have three days to come up with a full movie script, since the author waited until the last minute to start. The two trade ideas on how to make the story good, and in the process they fall in love, and the story within the story alludes to what is happening in "real life"

I found the movie actually witty at times, and very creative. I dabble in writing myself once in a while, so I can relate to having a million ideas, none of which relate to one another. If you still need a reason to watch the movie, the Paris cityscapes and miscellaneous photography are breathtaking.

Paris When it Sizzles is no Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's, or even a Funny Face or Love in the Afternoon, but it has its charms, which any Audrey Hepburn fan would absolutely devour in moments.

P.S. 2003's Alex and Emma has the same basic story, and is very fun to watch too.

Summary: A great movie nobody's seen
Review: As opposed to most really good movies, when it comes to this one (often reffered to as "the girl who stole the Eiffle tower"), you'll never hear anyone say "You Haven't seen it?! How could you not see it?!". It is a known fact that this is Hollywoods best kept secret.
Not only is it one of Audrey Hepburn's best movies, its also one of Tony Curtis' (Yes, including Spartacus and yes, he is only in it for a few minutes).

Summary: How horrid
Review: Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress, so naturally when I couldn't find Paris When it Sizzles to rent, I turned to the internet and bought it. Now I understand why rental places didn't have it. The script is horrible: Audrey Hepburn comes to be William Holden's secretary while he has 2 days to wright a movie script. They keep pretending that they are in the movie they are writing. They back up and start over and even once pretend that Holden is a vampire with his face all aglow. It almost made me throw up seeing Miss Hepburn reduced to such a horrible role. Please, whatever you do, don't buy this movie!!!!

Summary: I hate to do this...
Review: but this movie is not worth more. I love Audrey Hepburn but the plot is atrocious. The actors are good and it can be funny but the plot is definitely lacking. It involves a woman going to Paris to type a play that Holden's character is supposed to have written. The only problem is that he hasn't written it and he only has a few days left. From there the two try to develop a plot with ideas that range from spies to thieves to vampires. Basically what you are witnessing is a writer's failed attempt to develop a good story. If you want a good comedy or you just want to see Audrey Hepburn at her finest try Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany's, or Sabrina.

Summary: It is a good movie after all!
Review: Critics roasted this movie but it is not that bad. Granted that it is not one of her best movies(on the bottom second above "they all laughed"), it is still a good one. It is a very light romantic comedy with no deeper meaning a la "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Roman Holliday", "Sabrina", "Love in the Afternoon" and others. One has to watch it with a relaxed mind and just enjoy the parody of hollywood and the silliness of a screen writer. The video is as best as it can get in VHS, especially for a movie of that time, and with plenty of location sights of Paris coupled with Audrey in top original fashion clothes, this movie is a pleasure to be viewed. Every moment is enjoyable, of course with no other expectation than as described above, especially for Audrey fans. For people new to Audrey's movies, I definitely recommend first to watch her best movies.

Summary: YEEH!!!
Review: Did you ever notice that when they are talking about the movie, it sounds just like breakfast at tiffanys. The whole rain, and ally, and looking for a cat?????? Anyway they only way you wouldn't like this movie is if your a money makin player that ain't with us no more. Talk about good writing. You never see a movie now days that has someone in it that talks but shouldn't because he doesn't have an important roll in the film. How can they be writting a movie that they are trying to steel?

Summary: Lovely as usual, Audrey couldn't do it all on her own
Review: For once I have to agree with Leonard Maltin. This movie shouldn't have been. Although Audrey gave her usual gracious and beautiful performance, she seemed at times to be wondering how she could rescue this movie from disaster. I'm also a Wm Holden fan, but in this film he appeared to be dissipated & cynical and really not worth the trouble she was taking to save him. They both could do, and have done, so much better. What a waste of talent!

Summary: WHAT A SHAME I DIDN'T READ ALL OF THE REVIEWS FIRST!
Review: HAD I READ ALL REVIEWS, I WOULD HAVE FOUND OUT THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS FILM. THE 5-STARS REVIEWS ARE SIMPLY NONSENSE, THEY DON'T GIVE YOU AN ACCURATE FEELING FOR THE MOVIE. THE 1-STARS - NOW THOSE REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! THEY KNOW A STINKER WHEN THEY SEE ONE AND ARE NOT AFRAID TO SAY SO.
I AM SELLING ONE OF THESE "PARIS... USED FILMS AND I HAVE TO BE HONEST, I HAVE TO SAY THE TRUTH - SO BE FOREWARNED! THIS FILM IS BAD, IT IS NOT ENTERTAINING AND THERE IS NO PLOT OR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OR ANYTHING REDEEMING ABOUT THIS FILM.
THE DESCRIPTION OF THE MOVIE OUTSIDE OF IT'S BOX IS REALLY A WARNING. IT TELLS YOU HOW THE MOVIE HAVE SUCH BEAUTIFUL SCENERY OF PARIS. WELL- THAT'S A WAY TO TELL YOU THAT THIS IS ALL THIS MOVIE HAS IN IT THAT COULD BE OF POSSIBLE INTEREST. GOOD LUCK!

IF YOU BUY THIS FILM, DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU.

Summary: OK... So it may not be one of her best...
Review: HOWEVER, Paris When It Sizzles is a fun light-hearted movie and a must see for every Audrey Hepburn fan.The premise is that Ms. Hepburn plays Gabriella, a typist from the Typist Bureau. Living in Paris, she is sent to a most magnificent hotel room where she encounters the very tan and handsome (and not to mention shirtless) William Holden, a playright with a bit of ADD. They set out together to finish the play he has been procrastinating by acting out the scenes and of course there are some romantic antics that follow.Of course, Monsieur Hubert de Givenchy provided our starlett with a deliciously gorgeous wardrobe (definitely with seeing).Overall, I would recommend Paris... because it is mindless and easy on the eyes. There are some fun cameos, such as from Marlene Dietrich, Mel Ferrer, Tony Curtis and the venerable Noel Coward as Alexander Meyerheim.
