Summary: Incomparable!
Review: Everytime I see this movie, it's like visiting some wonderful old friends again. They never grow old, even though the movie is now more than 60 years old. Everything about it is so phenomenal: the once-in-a-lifetime performances by Vivien Leigh, Hattie McDaniel, Clark Gable. The Sidney Plunkett costumes, the lighting, camerawork, decor, etc. Some viewers in these reviews have carped about the movie being "racist"? Where? Hattie McDaniel had one of the major roles and won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. If Prissy was hilarious and feather-brained, then Aunt Pittypat was l00 times more. Ironically, Hattie McDaniel was demonized by the black press back then as "selling out" to a white producer (david selznick). In fact, all the blacks in prominent roles in GWTW were excoriated by the black press for even accepting the roles. When McDaniel won her Oscar, some of these fanatical accusers nearly had coronaries. I think GWTW gets greater every year because what we have to choose from today is garbage. Austin Powers, Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary--oh, pu-leeze. Is there any comparison?

Summary: Love or Hate
Review: "Gone with the Wind" is one of those movies that you either love or hate. I personally LOVE this movie and think everybody should be required to watch it...if only to see the amazing on screen chemistry between Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh.

Summary: Bloody Brilliant
Review: A real epic, the best movie in movie history. A perfect cast, perfect direction, perfect shots. Leigh IS Scarlett, perfecting the southern accent and moods of the temperamental lead. A more vital, masculine performance has never been seen since Gable's excellent portrayal of Rhett. A great movie, the best movie ever.

Summary: One of my favorites.....
Review: I have a very long and select list of favorite movies and only the best ones can go on there. Gone With the Wind is definetly one of my favorites. I only had to see it once to fall in love with it. I read the book right after seeing the movie(which took me about a month), and fell in love with that too. Perhaps Scarlett O'Hara could do a little less whining, though :). I had bought the movie on VHS for my mother and grandma (since they both love it equally), but since I saw it, I've taken it hostage in my video collection. There's not enough you can say about this movie! It is one of the best movies of all time, you don't need to argue that point. It's excellent and I'll never forget it.

Summary: excellent movie , charactars portrayed beautifully
Review: I saw this movie first, then i read the book. I was a bit dissapointed in Leslie Howard's role as Ashley Wilkes, but he was ok. Vivien Leigh, Hattie McDaniel, Olivia DeHavilland, and Clark Gable were excellent! The movie seems short compared to the book. It is a fact that if everything from the book was in the movie, it would take a week to show!

Summary: Outstanding
Review: This movie is absolutely fantastic. Having seen the movie during its brief showing at Leows theaters in Summer of 1998, I really learned to appreciate this movie for what it is. The particular scene when Scarlett is looking for Dr. Meade and the camera zooms out to show all the wounded soldiers is phenomenal. Hattie McDaniel does and excelent job portraying Mammie and more than deserves her best supporting actress Oscar. The costumes are beautifully done, and visual effects are magnificent. The music is wonderful. See it!

Summary: A Timeless Film!!!!
Review: Gone With The Wind portrays a wonderfully exciting tale of the South during the Civil War-don't listen to what the other critics to gave this film one star say-they cannot even spell Civil War correctly, so what would they understand about a truly excellent film? Vivien Leigh acted Scarlett O'Hara with true passion and grace, a trait you can't find in today's Hollywood. If you want a movie that will touch your heart and make you cry, see this movie-you'll understand the true meaning of the term "classic".
