Summary: The movie is great, but the DVD is even better
Review: Since pretty much everyone knows about the movie, I'm just going to talk about the DVD.

People in doubt of buying this, buy it anyway. The DVD has 2 documentaries, a still gallery, 2 commentaries, trailers, and a feaurette highlighting interesting facts about the film. The commentaries are especially good. The first one has interviews with all the actors and crew and the second one has interviews with editor Peter Hunt and screenwriter John Hopkins. The second one is the best. On the that track, you get to here the "Mr. kiss kiss bang bang" during the titles instead of "Thunderball," among other things.

That said, after watching the movie, I spent at least 2 or 3 hours playing around with the documentaries and still galleries, and then, I hadn't even watched the commentaries. Another 4 hours awaited. Anyway, I highly recommend you buy this! Just find a way and buy it.

Summary: The reason for buying a DVD player
Review: This movie looks great in widescreen...the way it was intended to be viewed. I am shocked at how much you actually miss when you view a movie in "Pan and scan" format. This DVD is visually stunning, the revamped soundtrack sounds great. Connery is at the top of his fame as 007 in this film. This was for many years the highest grossing Bond film.

The extras on the DVD are great too. You get 2 lengthly documentaries, with interviews from the stars. Amazing that the women from this film are still very good-looking nearly 40 years later. They've aged well. You also get a shorter "featurette" which shows some differences in various prints released over the years. Different Dialougue for different scenes, etc. There are 2 full length commentaries, including one with the late director, Terence Young. Many stills, TV ads and radio spots as well.

If you can get your hands on this, it's worth it.

Summary: "You don't think I got any pleasure out of it, do you?"
Review: Yes, that's what Bond says to the just bedded villianess
once he's captured. You gotta admire the style of it.

Though a little slow at times expecially in the underwater
scenes this fourth Bond adventure is pushed forward
by the music, the cast, and great locations. Bond gets off
lots of good lines and the girl is especially beautiful.
The villian, Largo,is one off the top five baddies in the
series.

The title sequence is one of the best with Tom Jones
giving his all and falling unconscious in the
recording booth after holding the last note of the hit
title song. Way to go Tom!

Summary: "One of the best and most memorable Bond films."
Review: Bond clashes with SPECTRE baddies in the Bahamas investigating the dissapearance of a warplane and nuclear payload in this rather dissapointing entry after the superb GOLDFINGER. The movie features plenty of gadgetry and gorgeous women, with the cahracter of Domino (Claudine Auger) being especially credible. Still, the groanable one-liners get old after a while, with Connery at his most comfortable in the role. But there's no denying that this is an enjoyable spectacle. The Connery films would go in a steady decline, unfortuantely, after this one, and he would hit rock-bottom with NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN in the mid 1980s. The special effects are excellent however, as is John Barry's music score and the underwater photography. The underwater battle at the end, as ridiculous as it might be, is marvelously executed and must be seen to be believed. This is an entertaining film, and while somewhat poorly edited, remains one of the best and most memorable Bond films, yet still isn't as lively as GOLDFINGER or FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.

Summary: ONE OF THE COOLEST FILMS EVER MADE.
Review: Can you imagine a film getting any better whether it is the women, the villians, the locations or even the plot this one has got it all.One might think it is outdated now but then look again this film is the stepping stone to any action movie that is to be made in the coming years.

Sean Connery stamps his signature yet again as James Bond 007 in the fourth instalment of the Bond franchise.Director Terence Young makes it more tounge and cheek than any other Bond movie. There is no raw filth or even gore but the story is so perfect that it makes you forget about its tiny if at all faults.

There are some memorable moments in this film like the opening jet pack sequence, gunfight at Largo's house during a blackout and the final underwater battle.Simply breathtaking and proof of quality film making which today is seriously considered by Jerry Bruckhiemer/Joel Silver and Steven Speilberg.

Adding to the movie's good points is also John Barry's superb score which to this day haunts me as it is quite memorable.I also took a great liking to the leading ladies because they can not get any sexier to me.

The plot revolves around Blofeld's organisation hijacking nuclear warheads and demanding a ransom. The beautiful location of the Bahamas a used extensivley where Bond tries to unravel the doomsday plot.

Summary: SEAN CONNERY IN HIS FOURTH TURN AS JAMES BOND
Review: JAMES BOND STARS IN HIS FOURTH ADVENTURE STARRING SEAN CONNERY AGAIN AS THE COOL AND SUAVE SECRET AGENT. THE MOVIE KICKS OFF WITH JAMES BOND GOING TO A FUNERAL OF A MEMBER OF SPECTRE AND FINDS OUT HE ISN'T DEAD AND FIGHTS HIM. HE EXITS USING HIS SUPER COOL JET PACK WHICH IS A REAL GADGET THAT WAS GIVEN TO THE PRODUCERS FROM THE ARMY.

ANYWAY... THE REAL PLOT OF A STORY IS ABOUT A NATO JET PLANE LOADED WITH NUCLEAR BOMBS BEING HIJACKED BY A HIGH RANKING MEMBER OF SPECTRE NAMED EMILIO LARGO WHO HOLDS THE WHOLE WORLD AT RANSOM. JAMES BOND HAS TO SAVE THE DAY AND HIS ADVENTURES LEAD HIM UP TO THE BAHAMAS WHERE BOND AGAIN WORKS WITH CIA AGENT FELIX LEITER TO RETRIEVE THE NUCLEAR BOMBS. WITH THE HELP OF LARGO'S NIECE DOMINO, WHO'S BROTHER WAS KILLED BY LARGO, BOND SETS OUT ON AN EPIC ADVENTURE THAT PITS HIM AGAINST MANY DANGEROUS OPPONENTS INCLUDING A COUPLE OF SHARKS.

WITH BREATHTAKING SCENERY AND AWESOME WATER SHOTS, THUNDERBALL IS AN EXCITING MOVIE WITH A REALISTIC PLOT. THE ONLY BAD THINGS ABOUT THE MOVIE ARE THAT THE MOVIE KINDA DRAGS ON AT SOME POINTS AND YOU MAY HAVE TO WATCH IT A COUPLE OF TIMS BECAUSE IT CAN GET CONFUSING. BUT NEVERLESS, THIS IS STILL A GREAT MOVIE TO WATCH.

Summary: Best-Looking Bond Movie!
Review: This has got to be the 007 movie with the greatest visual flair of the series. A fantastic Tropical setting, Brilliant set design by remarkable Ken Adam, and some stunning underwater photography make this one worth really WATCHING. Subtle touches like the lead villain's eyepatch and the SPECRTE rings helped Thunderball to become one of the most memorable, and most spoofed of the spy genre.

The movie itself is no bore either. The plot sticks fairly close to the original Ian Fleming novel, which is basically the first "steal a nuclear weapon and hold it for ransom" plot which seems to have been used in half-a-dozen 007 movies since. Only this time it's done well, with some great characters and tremendous setpieces. The distinctive villains seem straight out of a comic book, and there are no less than four beautiful 'Bond Girls.'

The action is tense, the humor is sly, and the stunts and effects are very good for the time. The music is great too.

If you're making an entrance to the Spy genre or Bond series, this is a good movie to start with. If you're already a fan, the DVD will provide you with all sorts of interesting information and extras. I highly suggest you buy this movie, and you might as well order the soundtrack and original novel while you're at it!

Summary: "It's your SPECTRE against mine."
Review: One of my all time favorites, Thunderball is truly amazing. From the opening teaser with the jetpack, to the incredible underwater end-battle, it's a rip-roaring adventure from start to finish. This time, Bond goes after the evil SPECTRE organization after they've stolen two nuclear missles. With the help of the beautiful Domino (Claudine Auger) and CIA agent Felix Leiter (Rick Van Nutter), Bond must thrawt the sinister Emilio Largo (Aldolfo Celi), or better known as SPECTRE #2. But Largo's not the only baddie Bond must deal with. Fiona Volpe (Lucianna Paluzzi), the stunningly sexy red-headed assassin, makes for a wonderful adversary for Bond to... play aronud with. All in all, it a pull-out-the-stops action spectacular that never fails to thrill, time and again.
