Review: Thunderball was Sean Connery's,in my opinion, best film.Though he had a better acting performance in Goldfinger,he was still excellent.Let's see how Thunderball compares to Goldfinger: Girls:Thunderball 5,Goldfinger 5 Action:Thunderball 5,Goldfinger 4 Music:Thunderball 5,Goldfinger 5 Settings:Thunderball 5,Goldfinger 3 Plot:Thunderball 4,Goldfinger 5 Villain:Thunderball 4,Goldfinger 5 Thunderball beat Goldfinger by one on that comparison.Buy it,but I suggest you rent it first.

Summary: A Cinematic Delight !
Review: Thunderball is James Bond at his best! The great action scenes(especially the ones underwater), the superb performances, the well written plot, and the fantastic score by John Barry all combine to make this a five star outing. Sean Connery turns in another fine performance as 007 and Adolfo Celi as Largo shows how to play a truly ruthless villian without crossing the line into camp. This entry also features great Bond girls(both good and bad) played by the beautiful Claudine Auger and Luciana Paluzzi. I recommend this fully packed DVD edition to any Bond fan. You won't be disappointed!

Summary: Everything great - except the colors!
Review: Yes indeed, the DVD-version of "Thunderball" certainly took away most of the softness and the scratches from the two previous versions I've owned on Laser Discs. The sound was improved too. BUT, the colors were are disappointment! Skin tones are almost always either too yellow or too pink, but the best way to compare different versions is to study the fabric on the furniture, the carpets and the flowers in the pre-credits scene where Bond fights the "widow". In all previous versions (including clips used in the two ducumentaries available on the new DVD)the look is definitely more Technicolor-lush. Just watch the green stems on the tulips the "widow" recieves at the end of the scene, and I think you'll agree with me. Pity, because everything else concerning this DVD is first class! Hopefully MGM/UA will be more careful when they transfer the remaining Bond-movies to DVD.

Review: I have been a James Bond fan since I was 7 and I think this Bond film is by far the BEST! The under water scenes and Q's gadgets were outstanding and Largo stands out as one of Bond's most evil villains.

Review: I have been a fan ever since I was 9. THis was the first movie I had ever seen, and seeing it on DVD really made it look terrific. The sound and the effects were really spectacular. I also recommend Thunderball and Goldeneye on DVD.
