Summary: Pow! Wham! Smack - Holly DVD's Batman!
Review: This DVD was a great surprise. The extra features including trailers, commercials and the behind the scenes stuff were fantastic!

One of my favorite extras is the info on the design and building of the original Batmobile. Very cool! With the designer himself - George Barris. (Who also did The Munster Mobile, Patridge Family Bus and Kitt from Knight Rider.)

This movie was made while the series was actually on TV and geared for the summer movies as a filler to keep Batman hot for the next season. It worked.

This is a fun movie. All the original villians are there! Cat Woman, the Joker, Penguim and The Ridler. All astonishingly played by the actors who made over-the-top acting a household delight! (Especially Cesar Romero and Frank Gorshin.) Of course, Adam West and Burt Ward were at their best!

The story is simple but the Bat props and effects are great! I loved it and had a lot of fun watching it on the DVD. It was meant as a series of pure relief and entertainment and every actor in Hollywood at the time wanted to be a guest villian on this show - and they were! KA-POW!

Summary: Good classic Tv Show
Review: After the sucess of the Tv Series 20th Century Fox thought to bring Batman a full feature film that compensates the great Tv Series.

After being tipped by Commodore Batman and Robin comes to a great yatch that was a ilusion planned by the 4 archnemesis of Batman: Joker,The Penguin,Catwoman and the Riddle.

The four wants to take over the world with the help of a dehydratation machine that can convert any human being into dust.

The Dynamic duo must impede this by stopping them.

However the finale dissappoints me a bit.

Wuth good gadget and the classic costumes this was one of the best shows of the 60's.

Summary: It's just a fun movie to watch.
Review: Sure it has hammy acting, TV looking production values, and a cast of actors who do not take themselves very seriously. But who cares? It's just a fun/entertaining movie to watch. The 1966 movie does not pretent to be anything else then what it already is. Family fun that both kids and adults can enjoy.

Summary: Holy ... Batman! This movie is ...!
Review: I LOVED this movie when I was a little kid. I must have watched it a million times. And I was a big fan of the TV show too. Now, years later and I'm an adult, watching this movie is very painful. I'm sorry but it's just terrible. Adam West has got to be the worst actor in the history of the world. He was a horrible Batman! Even worse than George Clooney! He could have used some time at the gym too. That pot belly does not make Batman look too powerful. Burt Ward is a great Robin when his mouth is closed. He looks great but his dialog is just annoying. The Joker, Penguin and Catwoman were all stupid. I loved the Riddler though. My God, who wrote this script? Super villains get together to turn the world leaders into sand? Even with them gone the world seems to run just fine. It doesn't do any good to question the storyline in this movie. It's best to just not watch it. Adam West was by far the worst part about the movie.

Summary: Batman! Batman! Batman! My first childhood superhero
Review: Adam West and Burt Ward make the movie seem much more exciting than the TV show. Frank Goshin, Burgess Merideth, Ceasar Romero, Lee Merwither and the support cast of Madge Blake, Alan Napier, Neill Hamilton, and Stafford Repp make this a good family movie.

Summary: The funky 60's motion picture in colour - at last!
Review: PICTURE QUALITY (A)
very good for such an old film

SOUND QUALITY (A-)
the original mono track sounds best; the new stereo remix with added reverb sounds pretty unnatural - a disappointment

EXTRAS (A)
holy extras!

SPECIAL/UNIQUE ON THIS DVD RELEASE:
Dolby Digital 2.0 remix
many great extras

COMMENT:
At last the original 60s Batman on DVD! Why is it so difficult to release the whole series on DVD? The last thing I've heared is that there are some stupid rights-problems between two film studios (Universal/Fox I think). One ownes the rights of screening the other the rights of distributing it, the first one won't give it away and so on...

Summary: BLAMMO, Batman, what a delight!
Review: This is what the DVD format should be used for more frequently! An excellent, clean transfer brings the original movie to life with vivid colors and good sound. All the fun and endless, subtle verbal wit (nothing obvious or vulgar) is here. A nostalgic delight for those of us old enough to remember when the show was on the air, and I'm sure it's a surprising find for the younger set. (My six-year-old loves it, and it's less disturbing than most Disney movies!)

Adam West and Burt Ward are amazing--for me there will never be another Batman and Robin. Imagine, comic book characters capable of self-referential humor! If you keep old copies of the comics in mylar airtight cases, probably skip this. Everyone else, pop the corn and enjoy a movie that celebrates many of the elements that make us nostalgic for the 60s. (Or as my daughter says, "the olden days.")

Let's hope they are working on putting the Batman TV episodes on DVD in the same classy way!

Summary: Batman! Batman! Batman!: My first childhood hero.
Review: This is probably the best batman movie for all true Batfans. The original characters played by Adam West and Burt Ward are at their finest. This movie shows you why after 35 years, Adam and Burt still are viewed as the only Batman and Robin.

Summary: Blam, Kapow, Zap
Review: This movie is truly pure fun. It brings back the memories of sitting and watching Batman in syndication in my early years and I can honestly say that it still fun to watch as an adult. The bonus features on the cast, plus the interviews with Adam West and Burt Ward are great. A recommended DVD.

Summary: This Campy film makes this movie fun to Watch.
Review: The Caped Crusder (Adam West) and his youthful Sidekick (Burt Ward) goes on a Battle to Fight:Four Dangerous Villans:The Riddler (Frank Gorshin), The Penguin (Burgess Meredith), Catwoman (Lee Moriwether) and The Joker (Cesar Romero).

Based on the Mid-Sixties Campy Show made into a Tongue in Cheek film. The movie is fun and successful. Not strong as like Based on the Comic Book or Future Batman Films but the film did gained a Cult Following. Grade:B+.
