Summary: So where is it?
Review: OK - this was supposed to be released last year. What's going on? The UK version WAS released, so why are we still waiting over here? Is it something to do with that dumb remake?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent movie
Review: This is a fab flick, which is unfortunately vastly underrated and little known in the US. So unknown in the states in fact that the entire car chase was 'borrowed' for an episode of McGuyver, and nobody batted an eyelid!! How they explain the English football fans in 1960s garb helping 'McGuyver' is beyond me.
See this movie soon, before the Mark Wahlberg remake (or rather re-hash) of this superb classic ruins the whole Italian Job phenomenon...

Summary: Great movie won't be relesed on DVD till after remake
Review: I love this movie. I have a video copy. They are currently filming a remake of the movie using the new Mini Cooper. My guess is that the release of the original movie on DVD is being deliberately delayed in the United States pending the release of the remake or even the DVD of the remake. In England the original 1969 movie was rereleased to theatres ayear or so ago and the DVD followed quickly thereafter.

Summary: I was deeply moved
Review: Michael Caine plays a thief named Charlie, recently released from prision. Quickly he meets up with some of his old mates and things get going. It's time for a new job, a job in Italy. The staging is magnificent as outside forces contend against Charlie and his crew. Will he pull off his elaborate heist? Gotta see the film.

The film's tongue-in-cheek approach was perfect. The film never takes itself too seriously, but it never goes too far. The characters are great, quirky, and often outrageous. I think this is my favorite Michael Caine performance. Also, there is a car chase in this film that is about as good as any I've ever seen.

Okay, so I was't deeply moved, but this movie is so much fun. In a way it sort of reminded me of Guy Richie's Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, or at least the influence can be seen. I loved this movie and I loved the ending. I will be adding The Italian Job to the library.

Summary: Get your skates on mate! and give us the DVD:)
Review: This movie made me go out and buy a MINI, I love this movie I bought it on Lazer disc years ago and have been waiting for this to come out on DVD, this movie is a blast from the past, it has some fantastic lines. Some of the best car cases you will ever see. Michael Caine As " Charlie" is so cool in this movie and Benny Hill's Caracture is a Hoot!
This movie is a must for any Ex Mod or Mini Fan. Two Thumbs up LADS! Now "LETS BLOW THE BLOODY DOORS OFF AND GET THE DVD OUT!"

Summary: SILLY
Review: Silly plot, silly performance, silly car chase, silly music and an absolutely silly ending. It deserves 1 star only but I reluctantly give it two stars because of Michael Caine who as usual does a good job.

Review: This is one of best films out there. Some parts you want to get past, but it is one funny movie. My only beef is WHERE IS THE DVD?!!!

Summary: My 3rd review of THE ITALIAN JOB, in a continuing series...
Review: OK.
What brilliant marketing strategist is responsible for holding up this DVD release? Since I haven't had the opportunity to see the North American DVD, my 5 star rating is intended exclusively for the Region 2 Phase Alternate Line (PAL) British Widescreen DVD that's for sale, now, at another AMAZON across the Atlantic.
Quite a few of us can now easily cope with both Region 2 and PAL, and if this kind of marketing ploy endures, a lot more of us will be driven to do so, very soon.
