Summary: A BIBLICAL EPIC
Review: This is my favorite movie of all times. I've been watching THE TEN COMMANDMENTS at least once a year since I was a little girl. And I still can't get enough of it. Even though it does not follow the biblical story exactly, it is very spiritually uplifting and reverent.

By far, it is the best Biblical movie ever made. It's sad that Hollywood has not really tried to produce any Biblically based movies that live up to THE TEN COMMANDMENTS' splendor. It seems that nowadays, all the money goes into producing shoot-em-up, gorey films.

This is a timeless, family movie that tells a riveting story. Every home should own a copy.

Summary: Sappy? So what! It's the message that counts!
Review: The other reviewers seem to forget this movie was made in the 1950s. I was looking for a way to teach my 8 year old about the Ten Commandments and this movie turned out to be the perfect vehicle to do that with. I thought I would have to force him to sit through and pay attention to a 3 1/2 hour movie. But it was the exact opposite! I couldn't tear him away from it! I enjoyed a classic movie... sappy as it was... and he learned how the 10 commandments came to be! I highly recommend this great family movie.

Summary: Its just awesome
Review: Anyone that has any basic idea of scripture can appreciate this film that actually LOVES God. Now it was written by a man i understand that, but lets face it, it glorifies God so much I have yet to ever NOT get excited when Moses said "Be still and see the salvation of the Lord, BEHOLD HIS MIGHTY HAND! " and parted the Red Sea (pause for dramatic moment in the Spirit) you not gonna get much more hard core God than that in a man made film :) God bless

Summary: How about a reality check here?
Review: Unbelievable that this corn fest was not only respected, but revered. This is a movie that can only be enjoyed as camp humor today.

The stage settings and effects are just awful, even in 1950 terms. And the acting . . . acting? Or just hamming? The scene where Heston as Moses stalks off stage left with his staff in hand puts Bela Legosi's cape shuffle to shame for a screen exit. Edward G. Robinson is over the top as Dathan, and what's with these Israelites? Presented with a column of fire and the parting of the sea, they turn turtle at the first skeptical word from old Edward G. Maybe they thought he had a .45 under those robes. Everyone's in this thing, even Vincent Price. Well, it is a horror movie in a sense.

Pious to point of curdling, and as earnest as a small town play production, this turkey should be buried before aliens see it and decide that anyone who made it shouldn't be allowed to live. Unless they have a healthy sense of humor for the absurd. So let it be written . . .

Summary: An Inspirational Masterpiece That Will Endure Forever!
Review: I was utterly amazed at the DVD color quality of this timeless movie. They don't make them like this epic anymore. Every aspect (acting, photography, directing & music) of this feature is 5 stars -- A must for bible movie collectors!

Summary: Great
Review: I love this movie. And I appreciate it more and more as time goes on. The voice of God SOUNDS like God, unlike in that TV "Noah's Ark" show that was on a while ago. The voice of God sounded like Jack Lemmon - not that Jack Lemmon is bad. But he doesn't sound like God.

Cecil B. DeMille knew what he was doing. This is a reverent, first class movie about Moses and the exodus from Egypt. The story of Moses shows that if you are doing God's will, nothing can stand in your way.

Summary: Cecile B. DeMille's last great cinematic epic
Review: The usual big budget film extravaganza produced and directed by Hollywood legend Cecile B. DeMille. Although quite a long film, the continuous action and the best cinematography money can buy keeps anyone in their seats. A very entertaining film despite the corny over-acting by Heston and company (you can get away with it most of the time in a biblical film). Hopefully, this film will be around for many future generations to enjoy.
