Summary: Humbling! Miraculous!
Review: This movie is a beautiful depiction of the humbling and miraculous life of Jesus the son of the almighty God. It does not add or take away from the truths of His life, and provides a humbling depiction of His suffering.

Summary: Best of the Jesus Movies!
Review: This 6 hour mini-series is a "must see" for me every year. Of all the movies about Christ, this is by far the most realistic and the best. My favorite scene is the raising of Lazurus from the dead, I get cold chills every time!!!!!!!! This helps you draw the conclusion that Christ was not just a great person, he was God Almighty!!!!!!

Summary: I Cry Buckets Everytime I Watch It
Review: I loved this movie. The first time I saw it, I was alone and I could not stop crying during the crucifiction. Powell was an excellent choice to play Jesus. He made you believe by just looking into his crystal blue eyes. My favorite scenes were when he interacted with Mary Magdalene and the roman soldier played by Ernest Borgnine and Peter. I get chills at the end when Jesus appears to the apostles for the last time and says, "HE is always with us". This movie has made a lasting impression on me. I recommend it to everyone.

Summary: The Best Jesus Movie Yet
Review: This movie I would say is the best Movie on Jesus yet. All other movies don't have the same kind of realness to them that this does. The acting was real excellent and production but if you wanted a down-to-the-detail-on-everything look on his life, you'll have to go watch the other movies on him or read the bible. A really good movie to watch to give you more of a pretty realistic view on his life and the happenings back in the early Roman empire. I would suggestthat anyone who gets the chance, to watch this...

Summary: Director was moved by the spirit.
Review: This is not a movie but GOD's expression to us about his son. I believe Robert Powell took the place of Jesus and actually showed us what it was like to be in the presents of the son of GOD. The support acting followed the lead well and the director held it all together with accurate times&events. I believe the movie shows intuitive thought that can not be found in the bible and "feels" more accurate then the scriptures. If you are frustrated with biblical text (like myself) please see this movie. Then make your own mind up on the man. P.S. If they could have only used Peter Gabrial's sound track from "Last Temptation" this would be perfect.

Summary: Excellent film, but a bit too much hollywood
Review: I have seen this film 4 or 5 times and thorougly enjoy it. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to learn more about the life and ministry of Christ. As a seminary graduate (Fuller Theological) I have a greater than common understanding of the difficulty in harmonizing the gospels (for more information, search the WWW of the "Synpotic Problem"). I think the writers and directors of the film did a fairly good job at this task. My critique is as follows. First of all, the writers included scenes that are not present anywhere in the New Testament gospels (i.e. some conversations between Judas and the Zealots). For the uninformed this could be confusing. A number of times I had to tell my kids that "this part is not in the Bible". On the other hand, those sections often place the story within its political and historical context, which is vital in any understanding of the gospel literature. Second, the film is occasionally sensational. As in the scene of raising Lazarus: Jesus drops down on his knees as if falling, then stands with hands raised, drawing attention to himself. I see Christ as not sensational and found this a bit distasteful. But all in all an excellent film

Summary: This is a fantastic video with fantastic actors!
Review: This movie I have seen with Sr. Genevieve Petitpas who was at our glebe house every Wednesday evening. She has taught me a great deal! She is one of my best friends after getting to know her. Now the lady is almost ready to leave us to be with God. This movie, in my opinion is THE BEST! Love and Prayers, Gloria

Summary: Beautiful film
Review: This beautiful film became part of my family tradition every Christmas and Easter. Mr.Powell portraits Jesus as I was always imagening he will be like.

Summary: I have a tradition to watch this at Christmas and Easter...
Review: The video is very close to my own interpretation of the Biblical story, albeit they did add a few scenes that took away the effectiveness of "humanizing" Jesus. At times I would have enjoyed more dialogue with Jesus in an informal stance, as when talking with the disciples who had just joined him following the capture of John the Baptist. On the other hand, I am happy the Biblical text of Jesus' words was kept true to that recorded in the Gospels. On the latter point, the difficulty of ending the video lacks the punch of so many other scenes. Perhaps the appearance before the disciples after his being crucified and His challenge to Thomas would have helped. The choppy conclusion may have been necessary for some reason other than dramatic, but most any addition would have been an improvement: the Ascension, however, might have been a little much for the modern public. Other than these concerns, the video will remain a faithful tool for discussion and review of the life of our Lord.Best scenes include those with Peter denouncing Christ, but the absolutely MOST chilling is not the Crucifixion, but the raising of Lazarus.
