Summary: Blunt, brutal, honest and funny
Review: Although I disagree with a few things they "expose," I have to say that Penn & Teller's brutal honesty about everything they discuss is extremely appealing; and extremely funny.

I will say that this series is on "Showtime" for a reason. It is not to be watched by children. Although hosted by magicians; no magic is performed. This is very much an adult show; filled with profanity, nudity, and a lot of other things you don't want your kids seeing/hearing. For an adult with an open mind, this series is great fun and makes you think about things you probably haven't thought of before. I have laughed the whole way through; enjoying this season as much as Season 1.

Summary: Amazing
Review: As a Liberal, as an Atheist, and as someone who is tired of alot of the nonsense in this country, this is my kind of show.

Penn & Teller assault the lies and nonsense of everyone from Animal Right's Activists to Fitness Mongers to the Religious Right. These guy's are so thorough they even go after Coffin Salesmen and Recycling.

They expose the unconstitutionality of the War on Drugs and the War on Profanity, they go after the mostly unneeded hysteria over Safety and Terrorism, and they attack as mentioned Fitness Mongers and also Plastic Surgery, Botox injections and other anti-aging stuff.

This is a great show. If your a Right Winger you should see this Show to get a glimpse of some of the faults of your ideology. There are also lessons for certain Left Wingers, notably the PETA episode.

Great Season, just as good as the First, I'm looking forward to the Third Season which is supposed to start late 2005...

Summary: Awesome show
Review: I have nothing significant to add regarding the content of the shows that hasn't already been said by the other reviewers. If you're a fan of Penn & Teller at all then this is a must-have DVD set (as is the first season). Let's hope Showtime continues to provide these guys with a venue for years to come!

My only complaint is that, unlike the first season DVDs, this set has no special features. I would have taken anything--outtakes... commentaries... extended interviews... behind-the-scenes (with the models, especially!)... anything! Unfortunately, all they give us is the shows.

Admittedly, that's a pretty minor complaint. These shows are great! I suggest buying a second copy to loan out to your friends--especially if they've got any of these gris-gris hanging around their necks (hopefully afterwards they'll still be friends!).

Summary: Riddled with opinion
Review: I like these guys as comedians, actors, and magicians. I've watched these series of opinionated films and find them to be filled with BS. Penn & Teller come at you with an air of authority and deliver some interesting facts but slanted toward their opinion (see Micheal Moore's films for carefully placed sound bytes, left wing opinions, and slanted politics for more of this type of BS). Great guys, good laughs, bad politics.

Summary: More Challenging Than Season One!
Review: If you think Jesus walked on water, do yoga because it expands your mind, think that either animal liberation or the war on drugs is a worthy goal, or believe that recycling does a lot for the planet, then you've come to the right place to have those beliefs not-so-gently cast aside.

P and T are back. While the first season of Bullsh.t was great, this season is greater. The first season focused on obvious whack-jobs like kthose who believe in alien abduction and the mystical power of ouija boards. Yes, it is fun to chuckle at, but you already knew they were nut-jobs before going in.

This season focuses on harder and more mainstream beliefs - from belief in hypnosis, yoga, and the 'animal liberation' movement, to belief in the war on drugs, regulation of profanity, and...recycling. These are beleifs that many people believe, and as such, it is harder than in the first season to make some of these 'believers' look blatantly silly.

As I mention in my review of the first season, one should not expect anything like a 'thorough' debunking with these shows. It is a half-hour entertainment show, after all. With that said, P and T still do a GREAT job doing what they can in the time they have. Also, as some of the shows debunk moral stances (i.e., avoiding profanity, animal liberation), it is hard to 'debunk' them in any strict sense, though P and T do as good a job as they can laying out good counter-arguments.

But first and foremost, this show should be looked at as edutainment. While it might educate (I imagine it does more preaching to the converted; otherwise, why would you have tuned in?), it is primarily about entertainment. In that category, it deserves all of four stars.

Summary: Great Show!
Review: Penn & Teller are great, and this show is awsome. It exposes the bs of stupid tree hugging liberals all the way to the bs of fanatical religious conservatives. More people should watch this show and learn something about the scams and other things people would do to exploit anyone with money to spend. The show is hilarious and entertaining.

Summary: PENN & TELLER AT THEIR BEST!!!
Review: THIS IS GREAT, FINALLY A SHOW WHERE PENN & TELLER CAN EXPOSE THE B.S. IN THIS WORLD. THE SECOND SEASON IS FILLED WITH LAUGHS AND GREAT FACTS THAT FEEBLE-MINDED FOLKS JUST WON'T BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND. THE TOUCH ON ALOT OF DIFFERENT SUBJECTS, EXAMPLE IN THE FIRST SEASON, BOTTLED WATER, END OF THE WORLD HYSTERIA, PSYCHICS, AND SECOND HAND SMOKE,WERE AMONG MY FAVORITES. I KNEW ALL THESE WERE B.S. TO BEGIN WITH, BUT IT'S NICE TO HAVE RESEARCH, PROOF TO BACK IT UP. AND PENN & TELLER TO AGREE WITH. JAMES RANDI IS AWESOME, AND HE TELLS IT LIKE IT IS. IN THIS NEW SEASON, WAR ON DRUGS, SAFETY HYSTERIA, DEATH, RECYCLING, AND THE DAMN BIBLE, WERE GREAT, JUST WISH THEY WOULD OF TOUCHED MORE ON OF THE CRAZY B.S. THE BIBLE CONTAINS, THEY BARELY SCRATCHED THE SURFACE. THAT [...] WHERE THE BIBLE SAYS YOU THINK WITH YOUR HEART OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, BUT THATS OKAY.HOPEFULLY THEY DO A PART 2 TO THE DAMN BIBLE. FAVORITE PENN & TELLER LINE "YOU CAN'T HAVE A DEAD JESUS, THAT WOULD [...] UP THE STORY." I'M AN ATHEIST, SO THIS SHOW IS GREAT. CAN'T WAIT TIL THE 3RD SEASON AIRS, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

Summary: Fabulous!
Review: This series is one of the finest on TV! Penn and Teller have always specialized in exposing the tricks, obfuscations and downright lies people try to perpetuate on one another. This show is definitely for thinking people who are not easily suckered. Oh, and an active, functional funnybone helps!

Summary: PETA and a whole bunch more
Review: You know some people will say that these episodes are "slanted and biased". Anyone who ever comments on any subject approaches the subject with their own perspective. Penn and Teller do a great job of giving opposing sides the opportunity to have their say on camera. The opposing side does a great job of making themselves look bad. They don't need any help from P&T. Watch how the PETA representative squarms when confronted with the fact that PETA themselves support KILL shelters. This is another great box set from two great guys.
