Review: Even if you've never heard of PG Wodehouse before, you'll love this series! The series serves a lighthearted commentary on the British upper-class, with all its peculiar quirks and morals. Wodehouse also takes a poke at the class structures, inversing as it were wealth with actual talent and ability.Although the series does not conform strictly to the books (more of a combination of various Wooster stories) it actually serves to enhance the experience for old Wodehouse fans and spurs the "newbie" to picking up the books themselves. If you never read/watched Wodehouse in your life, this series is as good a place as any to start! My only gripe is that the 3rd and 4th seasons are not yet out in DVD.

Review: Fantastic comedy. In a word - spectacular. You will immediately become caught up in the antics of Bertie Wooster in Edwardian England. You will be wondering, "How in the name of all that is holy will Jeeves get him out of this one?" Steven Fry was born to play Jeeves and seeing him teamed up with his long time partner Hugh Laurie is just great. I have watched every episode several times and I can't get enough Jeeves and Wooster. Clive Exton does wonderful justice to P.G. Wodehouse.

Summary: The 2nd season-good, but not best
Review: First off, as a die-hard fan of P.G. Wodehouse, I am critical at best. The First season surpassed my wildest dreams, in short, it was excelent. The second season fell short, however, inasmuch as many of the characters previously introduced in the first season were reintroduced being played by entirely different actors. That was semidisapointing. Also, some of the acting is a little less Wodehouse-y then in the first. I was delighted with Gussie once again, though, and I would still recomend buying it; its well worth the money, and is as good as it is going to get on this earth.

Review: Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry are brilliant as Bertie Wooster and Jeeves, respectively. This is an extremely witty series - the script is excellent and the acting, some of the best comic acting I have ever seen! If you haven't seen Laurie and Fry at work, particularly in this stunning series, I highly recommend you to do so!

Summary: Very funny, but not *as* funny as the first season.
Review: Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry are the perfect comedy team for playing Jeeves and Wooster. This was proved amply by the first season, which is perhaps, one of the funniest sets of adaptations to have ever appeared on British televsion. Sadly, the 2nd season isn't quite as good as the first. Oh, it's still very funny all right, but I just don't think it's *as* funny. There's a bit too much emphasis in the second year on the secondary characters, which means a bit less emphasis on our title characters, whose interaction is the best part of the these shows. It's still well worth watching though.

Review: I am majorly hooked on the *thingness* of Bertie and ingeniousness of Jeeves. I have converted my entire family to this show. Never have I had so much fun with a TV series! PG Wodehouse is a GENIUS!

Summary: Smart, funny and very British indeed!
Review: I have to admit that I never read the original source material, but I have been assured that it is brilliant. Notwithstanding this caveat on my part, I am still comfortable to say that this deliciously funny and intelligent series ranks amongst the best comedy series ever produced. First of all, the applaudable lack of an intrusive laugh-track means that the viewer is capable of determining his own personal moments of comedy. This leads to a very different appreciation of the humor for each individual viewer. And what humor there is! A hilarious send-up of class structures and mores in the English upper-class, this series manages to be funny and inventive throughout it's secong incarnation. Hugh Laurie is at the top of his game as the slightly dim-witted aritocrat Bertie Wooster (the type of character he also plays impeccably in the third season of Blackadder) and Stephen Fry is possibly even better as his ever present and highly skilled valet Jeeves. Intricate complications in the various episodes flow logically from one point to the other, and the conclusions somehow always ring true. If you are a fan of typical English humor and wit, this series of television episodes, as well as the first season, is sure to please. The presentation on DVD is not spectacular in any way, but a decent price level and solid production values make these DVD box sets the preferred way to go. Highly recommended for any lover of intelligent comedy!
