Summary: A MUST BUY
Review: Mr. Show is a must for any DVD collection. If you have a brain and love to be politically incorrect, you'll love this. "What to Think" is the best episode on the DVD, especially the GloboChem skit. I cannot wait for the rest of the seasons to come out.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I could only get through the first season. It felt like a rough draft for a bad Kids in the Hall episode. I saw the comparisons made in other reviews, and felt I had to chime in, this doesn't come close to their stuff, and (as some people that have maybe watched 3 hours combined of television and movies in their life) is the furthest from Monty Python as I could find. Yes, it's "conceptual", and if you love bad concepts (like New Coke) then this is the show for you. They try, they strain, and they [disappoint]. I gave a couple of chuckles, but as far as comedy goes, I laughed harder at Krsystof Kieslowski's "White."

Summary: Globo-Chem, we own everything, so you don't have to
Review: If you missed Mr. Show when it was on HBO, you need this DVD. This is only the first two seasons, I wish Home Box Office would hurry up with the last two.
This is crass, intelligent humor, that is good to watch when you're buzzed.
A nice change of pace from the rest of the [stuff], that is not only polluting the networks, but has infected the cable and basic cable stations!
Come back to us Bob and Dave, we need you!
Plus, we need the final two seasons!

Summary: ...but have you ever seen a junky talk,...
Review: I am sick of hearing people complain, 'why did HBO cancel this?' I have to commend HBO for putting this on. Hey, nobody else would have the guts.
Bob and Dave were the ones that called it off, so they could keep it good.
Mr.Show joins the ranks of MASH, Kids In The Hall, and 3rd rock from the sun. Shows that had enough sense to get out, while it was still good.
I can only hope that Rowan Atkanson relises that maybe TV isn't the best place for him, before we're looking at '2005, Mr. Bean, the next generation.'

Summary: If you dont own this you're a bad person
Review: Bob and David along with fellow castmates and writers produce a show that flows seamlessly and brilliantly and is ultimately hilarious and extremely creative. There's no need for me to even describe the skits on here because they must be seen to be believed, buy buy buy now now now.

Just for fun
Best skits-
Megaphone Crooning
"Y'all are brutalizing me"
The Altered State Of Druggachusettes
A Talking Junkie

Summary: Wonderful show....not so great dvd...
Review: Mr.Show is without a doubt the best sketch comedy show i've ever seen in my life. The problem with the dvd is....it's not really worth buying. ... My guess is bob&dave put it out so they could raise some money for their Ronnie Dobbs movie (which i would of gladly donated money for).

Personally i had all the shows taped, so i didnt gain a whole lot by getting the dvd. Also the the title of the dvd says "the complete first and second season" even though i could of sworn there was several first and second season episodes that were not included in the dvd. They seemed to just include the funniest episodes.

Sedondly....the special features arent very special at all. The audio commentary isnt anything memorable, its just bob, david &friends goofing around for a while. They're not even very funny in it. They tell a few neat stories about the show, but overall they just sit around and goof off. Everyone at Mr.show can be extremely genious and halarious when they have time to write and prepare....but when you see them on the spot, having to improvise; the results arent anything impressive.

The other feature i'll mention is the "before it was a show" feature. It is in fact a one minute long tape of bob and david doing an introduction on a cheap stage. Its really predictable if you ever watched mr.show before and looks like it was filmed by a high school audio club crew.

However....this may be your only chance to get a hardcopy of Mr.show (if you didnt bother to tape it). I'd suggest you wait around for the dvd to drop a little in price before you get it.

Summary: Better Then I remember!
Review: Good of you to read this. Mr.Show is simply a clever and well performed sketch comdey show. The only thing bad about the collection is that the 3rd and 4th season isnt on the discs. I suggest this collection to anyone who enjoys watching toddlers get wasted on drugs and alchohol.

Summary: mr show is timeless fun
Review: I just received my copy of these dvd's a couple of days ago after anxiously waiting. I had never seen the show before since ive never had HBO and didnt even know it existed. After I read the other reviews and discovered bob and david had their very own show I nearly fainted. Ive been a fan of both separatly for a while. I first saw bob as a cast member on the ben stiller show and became a fan of davids due to his appearances on drew carey, just shoot me, and scary movie 2. When i received the dvds I automatically watched disc one all the way through and then took it over to my fathers and watched disc two all the way through. I just today watched all the episodes with commentary which is also quite entertaining and interesting. The humor is so off the wall and original that I can't believe its been so well hidden from the countless people like myself who never knew it existed. The bonus material is also very funny and the best of mr show segment is probably one of the funniest bits. I now cant wait for a 3rd and 4th season and hope the movie will be released shortly. I also purchased tickets for the live performance and know it will be a night worth remembering.

Summary: Brilliant but noisy
Review: I love Mr. Show, and this DVD is worth having if you are a die hard fan. A word of warning, there is an annoying woman in the audience, with a horrid, evil laugh. Her voice appears on episode 1, and episode 4. She ruins many of the jokes with her high pitched cackle. I hate people who crave attention, especially at the expense of others.

Summary: Thank heaven for Mr. Show (10 Stars)
Review: If and when you buy this DVD set, you may be confused as you watch it if you are not familiar with the show. It is a bit like "Waiting For Guffman" (also brilliant), as you may have to watch it a few times before you realize how funny it really is. My advice is to watch it all the way through, then watch it all the way through with the commentary, which is what you will probably do anyway. Get it, right now.
