Review: I only seen a few episodes because of the weird schedule for the show. After I got the first season on DVD I was instantly hooked! I don't understand how such a tight show witty show could end up being cancelled.
All of the characters had depth, the show smartly judges the world we live in today while telling us a story about the future. The show exposes how the gap between the rich and the poor is getting bigger. Dark Angel slickly warns us about the danger of depending too much on technology by explaining how destroying a few key computers can destroy the biggest of nations. The women are depicted as beautiful, smart, strong and independent. The social commentary that the show makes on topics such as, sex, drugs, homosexuality, inequality, racism and every other injustice is off the hook. Jessica Alba is a straight Savage with a wit as sharp as a diamond tipped laser. If you are looking for fun, excitement and a story that won't insult your intelligence then DARK ANGEL season 1 is for you! I can't wait until the next one comes out.

Summary: Owner of Both box sets Season I and II
Review: I never got around to watch Dark Angel on TV because of lack of time and the way the series was not marketed properly in the UK, so by the time I started to watch them, it was well into the first series and I had never seen the pilot episode.I was glad when the DVD came out so I bought and immediately got hooked. It's one of the best TV series on current TV and makes Buffy the Vampire slayer look like pre-teen pap or a cheap horror version of Dawson's creek. As soon as I finished watching the first box set I went out and bought the next one. I thought that I would be disappointed at first but I was wrong, it only got better. Both series are fantastic! But I like the way the plot becomes darker in Series II. The Character development is brilliant in Series I, it is also there in Series II but some of the characters have been neglected like Logan. It's nice to see Jessica growing up as an actor, her performance gets much better in Series II as she becomes more comfortable in the role of MAX. In the last episode of Series II we get a glimpse of the beginning of another chapter in Max's journey as a Manticore transgenic. But we won't see it because THEY'VE CANCELLED THE THIRD SERIES!! I was gutted by the news! Why do they always cancel the best series on TV? The good series that remain survive because they become "mainstream" or get "simplified" to reach a larger audience like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Dark Angel was too sophisticated for your average person, so they've probably decided that there wasn't enough money to make out of it. The world is not ready for Dark Angel yet and the fans have to suffer for it. Anyway, if you haven't seen Dark Angel yet, I would advise you to buy both box sets. It's definitely something to watch over and over again. The characters are beautifully developed. The attraction between Max and Logan was not as intense at the beginning of the second series (probably because they were already dating in real life by then) and Logan became a little tedious, especially with the arrival of the new character "Alec" who's adorable looks, humour and cheekiness make his presence surpass that of Logans in many episodes. I would add Joshua, Original Cindy and Normal to my list of favourite characters. Unfortunately the best bad guy, Lydecker is replaced by White, but he does a good job in the bad guy role in his own way. Dark Angel is definitely a worthwhile purchase, but I wasn't very impressed with the extra features especially the poorly edited interviews, which is why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5. How is the American Version? At least we got a nice little featurette in the second box set.

Summary: Dark Angel Spread Your Wings
Review: This is the 1st season of a series that sadly only lasted 2 years..The thought of how far they could've taken it..This is one of the most groundbreaking television series in a good many years..And has no fear to take it in ways that other shows would fear to tred..This 6 dvd set contains all 21 episodes..It begins with a 90 minute (movie like) 1st episode the pilot show..And what follows are shows that will grab you and never let go..It is perfect all the way throughout..
Highlight episodes along with the pilot episode are the following "HEAT"..In which Max played by Jessica Alba shows off her cat dna that is a part of her..Sex Kitten is more like it.. What she goes into the title of HEAT says it all and more..One wild and sexy episode heated up mercilessly by Jessica Alba..All i can say is here kitty kitty kitty.."Flushed" deals with Max's friends thinking she has a drug problem..So they flush the pills in an act of intervension..But what they don't know that Max without these pills she will have sesures and would die.."RED" is one that Max has to protect one of her arch enemies..The results are comedy of insults ect between the two of them.."I And I Am A Camera" is without a doubt the most original i think of all the episodes..And Logan finds something he really needs in last part of the episode.."MEOW" another Jessica "Max" Alba IN Heat episode..Can anyone be that lucky??? And the finale "..And Jesus Brought A Casserole" is one of the most exciting episodes i ever seen of anything..Action pack edge of your seat..That is the final episode of the first season and it ends with a cliffhanger that no one could have seen coming..(it continues in season 2 also available on dvd also highly recommended)..Be sure to also listen to the commentary on that episode done by Micheal Weatherly who played "Logan" and Jessica Alba "Max"..This is a fun listen to them talking about doing the show..Mostly the part they talk of all of them laughing so hard at John Savage (who brillantly played the Villian "Lydecker")..You can tell that they had a good time listening to that commentary..Which is by far the best commentary i ever heard on any dvd..Keep in mind that all episodes are highlights..But only listed just a few here..Enjoy..
This dvd set contains great extras on dvd # 6..Behind the scenes (3 of them) and blooper reel that is beyond hilarious..I only have 1 thing bad to say about the extras..That is the audition files..There is NONE with Jessica Alba..The main character and no audition footage of her..Whats up with that?? That is really the only thing i have against the set that and could have been packaged better..Season 2 contains better pictures of Alba on and inside of it..I feel the packaging inside and out doesn't do the beauty that is Jessica Alba justice..
Which brings me to Jessica Alba herself..Watch this girl i hope that we hear more of her as the years go by..She is without a doubt a very talented actress..And one of the most sexy girls that i have seen on film in years..No where will you find on tv and/movies a girl that can wear leather and also tight blue jeans like Jessica can..And by listening to the commentary one can also see that she is a fun girl too..In one of the episodes she is telling who all her (Max) DNA is made up of..And in the list at the end Alba gives a playful look and says "And Pocahontas"..It was then that thought up a better term and name for Jessica Alba NOT "Pocahontas" we call Jessica Alba "Pocahotties"...So buy this dvd set you will not be disappointed..In matter of fact get both sets and have the whole entire series..Hopefully someday they will make more whether tv or movies..At least one to end it off.. And exsperiance what is a groundbreaking in all areas tv show..And also can't forget be captivating by this dark eyed beautiful talented sexy actress Jessica Alba who can give you looks that will burn you with their heat and can dance within their flame...JESSICA "MAX" ALBA = POCAHOTTIE

Summary: This ain't "Alias"
Review: Having becomed addicted to "Alias" after viewing the first 2 DVD sets, I decided to try this. What a disappointment. The acting is merely passable -- usually flat -- the dialogue is peppered with cliche urban expressions (What's the dealio?!), and each 45 minute episode ends with a tired moral. My greatest disappointment? That I lost the receipt for the second season set and can't return it.

Review: I do not remember why I missed "Dark Angel" when it originally aired, but now that I have seen the first season I am willing to admit I made a big mistake (Mea Culpa, James Cameron). The story is set in Seattle, Wasington, in the year 2019, which is afer "The Pulse," an electromagnetic bomb that basically pushed reset on the United States. However, that is only the setting, because the star is Jessica Alba as Max Guevera, who at first glance has a day job as a bike courier, and at second glance works as a cat burglar at night, bit at third glance and closer examination turns out to be a genetically enhanced superhuman created by the government who escaped from a military training school ten years earlier. "Dark Angel: The Complete First Season" has a couple of plot lines that make Max both the hunter and the hunted. Max is always on the lookout for her "siblings," the other kids who escaped from Manticore, while Lydecker (John Savage), the head of the secret program is trying to find both them and Max to return them to government service. Meanwhile, Max's days as a cta burglar are over when she tries to rob Logan Cale (Michael Weatherly), a rich kid who is the secret cyber-journalist known as "Eyes Only," who enlists her into his idealistic crusade to clean up corruption in Seattle. Of course, the two are made for each other, but we have to wait for them to catch out to this rather obvious fact. What really makes "Dark Angel" work is the extent to which this futuristic dystopia has been worked out. This is not so much a series where the mythology emerges over time as it is one where the premises are so strong that they sustain multiple episodes and provide compelling sub-text for the rest. Compare this to similar series that take a while to find themselves, and you can see why these solid premises allowed this one to be able to have so many solid episodes early on. Creator James Cameron's imprint is clearly on this production, but mention should be made of the show's Vancouver crew, which obviously includes a lot of "X-Files" veterans. The production values on "Dark Angel" are pretty striking in creating the seedy world of post-pulse Seattle and its icon Space Needle where Max likes to go and contemplate existence. But the sense of style comes as much from the characters as the setting. Alba is truly stunning as Max, able to play hard, soft, or whatever the scene demands. Weatherly has one of the squarest jaws in television history, and Savage has fun milking everything out of the bad guy (he really does care for his children, but duty never gets in the way of such emotions). The supporting cast has some compelling texture types, from Normal (J.C. MacKenzie), the overbearing dispatcher at Jam Pony ("Bip! Bip! Bip!"), to urban philosopher Herbal Thought (Alimi Bllard), and everybody's favorite, Original Cindy (Valarie Rae Miller), Max's roommate and co-worker, who basically has the right attitude for every occasion. After watching the complete first season of "Dark Angel" you will want to move on to the complete second season, which just came out and you will be disappointed that there were only two seasons of the series. However, when you see the overall drop in quality during season two, you will not be that surprised (it takes half of that second season for the series to really get going). But "Dark Angel" is one of the better science fiction series to be produced in the last ten years, and the first season does provide a complete story arc.

Review: Dark Angel really was at the time the coolest show on TV, It was a sci-fi action show but realistic, You had probably the most kick-butt female character on Tv..or at least the coolest. Jessica alba was perfect as Max. Unbelievably beautiful,but tough ,at times a smart [gal]but was also sweet. Pretty much the perfect women And while there's plenty of action in the show the Best moments are between Max and Logan(Michael weatherly..Jessicas real life boyfriend). Max who has never really felt that kind of LOVE before is having these feelings and confused at times. Both max and logan know they want to be with each other but play it off as if they don't ..it's strictly business.So that sets up a whole lott of flirting etc..They have perfect chemistry.This first season DVD is a must for DA fans. but even if your not the entire first season is very well done from start to finish, As for the extras their is 3 featurettes, Screen test, Bloopers and a Video game promo. As well as commentary on a few episodes by The directors and producers, But the Highlight is the Commentary by Jessica and Michael on the Last episode, Simply Hilarious, They put a humorous touch on an otherwise emotional and sad episode. they also give great insight into the making of the show. What i found most interesting is when they talk a little about season 2. They clearly were not happy with it but you could hear their disappointment in the show being cancelled. My only complaints about the DVD is their should have been More Bloopers(only 6minutes long) More of jessicas recent interview she did for the DVD the majority of what they showed of jessica was an old Interview from when the series started. Hopefully these and more will be included on the Season 2 DVDs which hopefully FOX will release in the U.S. They certainly owe it to the fans and the cast and crew of the show.

Summary: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Pulse...
Review: I had never watched Dark Angel during its short run on FOX. I'm a big Cameron fan, but mixed reviews and lack of interest on my part kept me from giving it a shot. I didn't even know the show had been cancelled when the first season popped up in stores on DVD. One thing I love about DVD is the chance to experience full seasons of TV shows in one big serving. I've become a Buffy/Angel addict, had the chance to collect all The X-Files (which I watched religiously since it first aired when I was a kid) and have also discovered great shows like Felicity, Six Feet Under, and The Shield. I've always been a huge movie buff but I've found that television done right can be much more satisfying than any film. Stories unfold like novels and characters develop in ways that films just can't match. Greg Berlanti's new show Everwood that's on the WB is a good example of this. Hands down, that show is superior to 90% of the garbage at theaters this year. Which brings me to Dark Angel.
As an Amazon addict, I read countless reviews before deciding whether or not to buy movies and TV shows I haven't seen before. I'm fairly busy, I'm a writer/director and I run a production company in Los Angeles, and usually don't have the time to post my own thoughts. But I feel Dark Angel merits a post to hopefully get more folks to give this show a shot.
After reading a ton of reviews on various DVD sites and here on Amazon, I purchased the set. Based on the comments online, all seeming to either love the show or loathe it, I really wasn't sure what to expect. The set arrived and it sat on my desk for a week or two before I even popped it in. Some free time came up and in a very short perod of time I watched the whole series, mostly late at night on my PC. Some albums, movies and TV shows come into your life at the right time and fill a void or make you feel a certain way. I don't know exactly what was going on but I found myself really moved and involved in this show. I got really emotionally involved in Max's journey to find her long lost siblings and in her relationship with Logan. The scenes where they share blood in particular are touching and original. If you like thought provoking sci-fi with Cameron's fingerprints stamped all over it, this show is for you. Its got action, drama, romance, humor and a decent dose of darkness to keep you enthralled. Jessica Alba, lovely and tough as Max, really shines. Michael Weatherly and John Savage are also terrific.
The first season of Dark Angel unfolds like Dickens, building to a nightmarish conclusion in the season finale that will have you screaming at the screen and wanting to rip your hair out because the second and last season isn't released until October. I've already pre-ordered my copy.
The 6 disc DVD set contains all 22 episodes of the first season and a nice set of extras. Commentaries on four episodes including the Pilot presentation are chock full of details about the production, hefty budget, special effects and Cameron's involvement as co-creator and writer. Also included are four featurettes, auditon tapes, gag reel/bloopers, and a trailer for Cameron's Dark Angel video game. Highly recommended in my opinion.

Review: James Cameron gives a perfect vision of a future where the American social structure has broken down due to a 'pulse' that wiped out all the computer systems in North America turning America into a third world country. Jessica Alba is a phenomenal lead actress that lends emotional depth and a lot of attitude to the role of Max (a genetically engineered supersoldier that has escaped government control) who is forced to play the reluctant hero against government oppressors in order to try to find others like her. I love Dark Angel and am totally stoked it's being released on DVD. Hopefully, season two will follow shortly

Review: This is a start to an awesome show that got cancelled way before its time. I started watching this show right when it aired, and I never missed an episode in 2 years. I loved being able to watch the season all the way through when I bought the DVD's. This is an excellent action show with hilarious one-liners given by star Jessica Alba who plays Max, a transgenic soldier who escaped from project manticore with her "brothers" and "sisters" when she was only 9. The show starts out 10 years later in the year 2019 in Seattle Washington. She meets Logan Cale, played by Michael Weatherly, and she helps him fight crime in exchange for information on the other soldiers who got out 10 years ago. Jessica Alba really shines in this series that makes her a star. Her costar and fiance of 2 years Michael Weatherly also brings a charm to this show. Make sure that you dont miss their hilarious commentary of the final episode on this season. It is the highlight of the entire box set. The bloopers are also quite funny. They consist of mostly Alba and Weatherly. There are also 3 featurettes on the show. The first and third one are very interesting, but the second one is just making the sets, and that didnt really interest me too much. There is also audition tapes for everyone except Alba which was kind of disappointing.(the fact that Alba wasnt in them, not the other auditions) And there was a trailer for the Dark Angel video game which I own and would also recommend. This season is filled with great writing, and the show completely changes in the next season, which wasnt exactly for the worst, but it just wasnt quite the same. But I would definitely recommend that you go out and buy this now.
