Summary: Great, even if it's a bit cheap at first
Review: So the set design is the result of a stellar budget at first, but it does drastically improve every season.

The first season is deffinately low budget, the second season shows a paint job and a bannana, then the third season they really start to get it together into a real set, but that is not to say that the low budget made it any less hilarious.

Red Dwarf is deffinately one of the funniest shows I've seen. I can't wait for season 3 and 4 on DVD.

Summary: Never Saw It
Review: Sorry can't help you too much. The only reason I give it 5 stars is because I got it for my wife. She enjoyed it and I got brownie points for it. Sorry this is second hand.

Summary: Purists Rejoice!
Review: Thank-you, BBC, for giving us these episodes untouched! For those of you who, like me, cringed at the extra special effects added to the original series, this is a treasure! These episodes are the ones we enjoyed watching on PBS when they first made their way across the pond: original 80's mega-ecstasy bliss! I didn't even think these gems were available anymore, but I thank those responsible for recognizing their value . For extra fun, the Japanese version of "The End" is featured in Series One - complete with all the added special effects & new theme music. Great for comparison!

Summary: Great for Red Dwarf Fans
Review: The commentaries are hilarious, although sometimes hard to understand. (There is no closed captioning for the cast's comments.) There is, however, closed captioning for the regular episodes, which I really appreciate. Sometimes the studio audience is laughing so hard, you can't understand what the chatacters are saying. If you have seen the Smeg-Ups or Smeg-Out tapes, you have already seen the outtakes that are on the DVD. The booklets in the DVD's are not very detailed, just some info on what to look for in each episode. I would have liked more background material. They also should have provided cast bios on the DVD. The picture quality is excellent. A must but for any Red Dwarf Fan.

Summary: You can't watch just one!
Review: This series is habit forming. These opening shows were so wonderfully fresh and funny - there is nothing like them! I laughed until I couldn't laugh anymore! I watched the entire lot of episodes in one sitting, and I wanted MORE! Unbelievably funny and fascinating! You can't help but fall in love with these kooky characters!

Summary: One of the funniest shows on TV...
Review: To be honest, when compared to other shows on TV, this IS not just the funniest show on TV it IS THE FUNNY SHOW (if that makes any sense). Meet Dave Lister, sole survivor of a radiation leak caused by Rimmer, who is now a dead hologram and not very happy about it. Add Holly, Red Dwarf's not-very-smart computer and the fashion conscious Cat, a creature who is the final product of three million years of evolution from the ship's cat, and you get a VERY weird show. On top of that add the breaking of light speed, chef's exams, mutated space creatures, unidentified space pods, a cleaning android and memory replacement. Red Dwarf is proof that there is a God. Dave Lister of course!

Summary: AAAH, Rimmer!
Review: What can I say except it's too expensive? That's the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. How could anybody not love the obsequious Rimmer, brilliantly played by Chris Barrie? (I admit I've got a soft spot for him, though.) And Cat! When he steals the champagne from Kochanski's honeymoon suite I almost fell off the chair laughing.

This is such great fun that I'm almost tempted to watch them all over again immediately, since the next 2 seasons apparently won't be out until next spring.
