Summary: The best TV on DVD!
Review: I cannot wait for seasons 3 and 4 to become available on DVD. Until then, I will enjoy the 1st and 2nd seasons again. I am almost ashamed to admit I watched all six hours (2 DVDs) of season 1 in one day. I was home sick and nothing couyld have made me feel better. These characters may live lives a little out of the norm for most of us, but they are likable, relatable and interesting. Some episodes are laugh-out-loud funny, and some have a serious message... but all are wonderful!

Summary: Before the writing got pedestrian
Review: The first season of SATC is some of the best writing that television has ever offered. I say buy the first and second seasons and relive all the fun moments the girls had before Carrie became whiny and selfish, Charlotte became baby-obsessed and married, Miranda became the "frumpy" one and shrill, and Samantha became so slutty that it's painful to watch.

Review: This series is not for children. But, it is very funny!

Summary: The Best Show Ever
Review: This is my absolute favorite show. If your into womans views about men, sex, relationships, & friendships then this is the show for you. They are real woman with problems most women can relate to. Through it all they remember what's most important, which is friends. They all have qualities that I can (and I'm sure most women) can definately side with. Whether it's too much sex or not enough, getting pregnant or not being able, (however that comes later), or buying too many shoes, or simply things like when is he going to call, or I shouldn't have had that affair or just your basic relationship problems, they explore it all. So I give it 5 stars & if I could give more I would.

Summary: The entertainment value us fairly high but
Review: I'd have to say that the portrayals of the women are pretty pathetic. I really don't know any high class, high paid women like Sam who hop in and out of the sack and are happy about it. If she were 22 then I'd understand but come on it's just downright sickening. She obviously has issues. They all have issues. They live in the center of the universe and all of them have trouble finding a man. These women are going to wind up single and alone forever. Yes, even Charlotte who's married and divorced she'll be alone also. There are no perfect men out there.

If you're waiting for perfection you'll have a long wait. I'm deeply disturbed by the way that sex is treated so casually especially by the Samantha character. Her behavior is downright Conditesque!! It's borderline psychotic!! Men if you meet a woman who's happy to hop from bed, to bed, to bed run like the wind. Does the film "Fatal Attraction" ring any bells?

The only real women in the world who act like these women are women with severe emotional issues. They all need to be in counseling. But hey they're living the American dream. Go to college, get a high paying job you should be happy after that right? This show only goes to show people that there's more to life than that. If you have no soul or moral compass you have no life.

Summary: Are you ready??????
Review: Are you ready for the seanon finally? This program is one of the best hit shows I have seen ever on television that not only talks about sex issues but other important issues as well. I started watching this show this past year for the first time, so lucky me will be able to see shows I haven't seen yet with my husband. We both love the show. Thank you HBO for airing a program that makes a whole lot of sense. We love our girls. See you in the reruns and will be ready for next season. ren

Summary: Not Engaging
Review: For me, there's a lot going against this series. I expected a chick-show, but the content is just overwhelming. It's about these women who sit around and complain about dating and love and sex. The thing is, they constantly shadow their experiences onto all of Manhattan, as if what happens to them (or what they want) is pretentiously representative of the whole borough.

Then, the lead character constantly addresses the camera directly, without any other conversational or narrative premise. It's even worse than "Malcom in the Middle".

It's also aimed squarely at women, and it totally misses me. But my wife didn't really find it intersting, either. "I don't know if would be worth the wait a week for the next episode of this show."

On top of it, I'm left with the feeling that the column that Carrie is supposed to be writing is not very insightful. Presumably, she's writing about her circle of friends and their expeirences--that's premise to making Carrie's point of view interesting, isn't it? But her friends never read the column, I guess. They never mention what she's written, even when it's supposed to have been a private incident among themselves.

They don't seem likely friends, anyway. All they seem to have in common is sex.

Finally, why isn't this disc wide-format, like HBO's _The Sopranos_ discs? It seems like the video quality is pretty bad.

Summary: Fabulous
Review: I laugh everytime that I look at those videos. Carrie, Miranda and Caroline are a scream, and Samantha is just one helluva woman.

I love that they're not young 20somethings but women like you and me who have through the same grief of finding that Prince Charming out of the many toads. (Althought they seem to have a lot to choose from)

A great laugh!

Summary: you just gotta love it
Review: Last year, I bought the first season and immediately invited a friend over to watch it. She was doubtful at first, becasue I'm always forcing my friends to watch chick stuff that they don't really like. By episode 2, we were junkies.

I'm not single, in my mid-thirties, and I've never been to New York. Yet this is a show that truly transcends all that. Chronic batchelors and male egotists are described hilariously, and the war between singletons and smug-marrieds is constructed in such a way that would make the Bridget gang blush. See this and season two, and then find that friend who has HBO and make her dinner every Sunday just to keep watching.

Summary: A great collection of one of the best shows on TV
Review: Sex And The City and HBO are the only reasons I keep that too-expensive premium cable package. Sex And The City makes it worth it. I only started watching this funny and strike-a-chord series this summer and don't know why I waited so long. Fortunately, you can catch up instantly on the first season and second seasons on video/DVD. Each season has 12-18 episodes, and they're like an amazing batch of chocolate chip cookies. You will not be able to stop and you will not be bored, even if you go through the entire season in one sitting. It left me wanting more. The characters' through-it-all friendship will have you appreciating your own tried and true friends. Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha are all likable, real, complex, funny and a pleasure to spend one or eighteen episodes with. If you've been a single woman for more than six seconds, you'll also appreciate the bewildering and recognizable behavior of the men in these friends' lives. New York City as the vibrant backdrop makes the show even more watchable. Interestingly, a male writer wrote several of the episodes, so clearly, there are some good ones out there. And guys, I know several men who are surreptitiously hooked, also ... for any men out there who'd like to know what women think and talk about when they're on their own ... here are all our secrets spilled. I recommend this great series to everyone.
