Summary: A complete riot!
Review: For those who are familiar with Faulty Towers this CD set is a hoot. Hour after entertaining hour of their special kind of dry English humor keeps you laughing forever. For those not familiar with Faulty Towers if you liked any Monty Python then you will love these. Too funny and where do they come up with all that silly stuff. This set is always a crowd pleaser when entertaining friends or when needing to break the ice. Have a party, put it on in the background and watch everyone loosen up and start laughing.

Summary: My favorite comedy series on TV
Review: This was my favorite comedy series on TV. I had been hoping they would release it on DVD for some time and finally they did and i snapped it up. It is still funny. Perhaps not quite as funny when i first saw it spontaneously on TV the first time, but still it is quite funny, especially if you are John Cleese fan and like his form of humor.

Summary: A very funny mix of physical and cerebral humor
Review: Excellent british humor--you can't go wrong with this. Basil (Cleese of Monty Python) is the luckless, racist, sexist el-cheapo of a hotel manager who, in the end, you can't help but feel sorry for. Great gags, overpowering wife and self-destructing plots plus poor old Manuel the bean bag make for a very entertaining cast worth repeated viewings.

Summary: Too funny for words
Review: This series is too funny for words -- there's a continuous stream of witty, overwrought dialogue in every episode, unmarred by the treacly sentimentalism that seeps into some comedies. John Cleese is brilliant as the gangly, bouncy, hysterical Basil Fawlty, who constantly encounters people who annoy him and situations that freak him out. Prunella Scales is equally brilliant as Sybil Fawlty, Basil's acid-tongued wife who talks with her whiny friend Audrey and annoys Basil with her laugh that sounds like "machine-gunning a seal." Andrew Sachs plays the bewildered Spanish waiter Manuel, whose naivete and terrible command of English offer plenty of opportunities for hilarity. Connie Booth rounds out the cast as arty, smart waittress Polly, who gets sucked repeatedly into Basil's schemes.

There are some great supporting characters, like the little old ladies Miss Tibbs and Miss Gatsby who appear to live in the hotel; the Major, who wanders around in his own little universe; and Terry, the deadpan cook who seems as capable as Polly. This is a delightful, classic series -- not to be missed!

Summary: Yes.......can I help you.......?
Review: No matter how many times I watch Fawlty Towers I can't help but laugh out loud. There is nothing funnier to me than good sarcastic, physical humor. There aren't many people that do it better than John Cleese. It's not only great having these episodes on DVD now, but this collection includes interviews and other info that makes it even more fun to watch. Finding out that Basil Fawlty is based on a real person just blew me away. What can be funnier than a hotel owner that doesn't like dealing with people. I've shown Fawlty Towers to various people that I know and so far, every one of them has become a fan. It's a shame they didn't make more episodes. If you don't find Fawlty Towers funny, you need to see your doctor about having your funny bone replaced.

Summary: fantastic fun
Review: Our whole family loves these shows, except Grandma who gets too nervous at the impending disasters so she has to distract herself with a magazine. The rest of us are laughing so hard we cry. We are glad to be able to watch these whenever we wish, and there are enough episodes that we haven't tired of them. We overdosed on them for about two weeks. Now we pull one out once every few weeks or so. Though we are all adults we feel like small children with a well-worn favorite video.

Summary: Excellent
Review: We owned these episodes on VHS for years...now I bought them as a birthday gift for my brother in DVD format. What a difference! The picture and sound quality have really improved and there are so many extras on the DVD: interviews, trailers, bloopers, biographies, etc.

Fawlty Towers is great, classic comedy at its finest! Fun for the whole family and it has definite re-watch ability! The only bad part is that they didn't make more!

Summary: One of the all-time great comedies

Summary: Simply stated: Best Britcom ever made
Review: This series is exceptional. In my opinion, only John Ritter rivaled/rivals John Cleese in the mastery of physical comedy. What gives Cleese the edge is his dry humor. It makes the whole thing balance brilliantly. I have been meaning to buy this series for some time now, and to have it on DVD ensures that it will be a timeless treasure for me and my friends to enjoy. My favorite episode is the "Goose Step" episode. I highly recommend this purchase to any true fan.

Review: I am not repeat what the other peoples are saying, it is funny.
I just want to let you know that I was amazed the clarity of the color, sharpness of the video images (after watching off-air video tapes from local PBS station repeat). It is a superb reproduction.
