Summary: In a Word...WOW!
Review: Over twenty years late and right on time. This is the godsend that Zeppelin fans have been waiting for. No more terrible quality bootlegs to suffer through, where the sound of the band seems to be coming through a filter, no short peeks into the band's performances like we saw in MTV's, then VH1's documentaries. Nope. Here's the real thing. Loud, raw, powerful and so utterly Led Zeppelin. Hallelujah!

Since the band's breakup, Jimmy Page has told reporters that a live anthology of the band has been one of his dreams. Until now, most fans could only have "The Song Remains the Same," which while fun, was hardly the band at its best (filmed at the end of their record shattering 1973 tour, one can tell the band members are going on auto pilot in their performances, and simply, they just aren't in top form). Instead, Page didn't just deliver a live anthology on CD, but instead, gathered up the few filmed and taped performances, transferred them to digital format and mastered them. The end result in a gorgeous package that is both pleasing to the ear and eye. The effort might have taken a year, but it is well worth the effort. The Royal Albert Hall in 1970, Earl's Court in 1975 and lastly, their last English appearance at Knebworth in 1979. The beauty of the band is that they never had few, if any bad performances. Here, Zeppelin is in excellent form at both the Royal Albert Hall and Knebworth, and everywhere in between. Most interesting in their appearance on Danish TV where they scorch the audience with a four song set.

This is simply a must have for any Led Zeppelin fan.

Summary: BIIIIIIIIIIIIG Disappointment
Review: Ok, here's the low down on this DVD. It shows a select number of songs from various shows throughout Led Zep's career. But it does some things wrong: it cuts between camera angles for dramatic effect, but it really just looks [bad]; it takes video cuts from different songs in the same concerts (watch Immigrant song, there will be a couple instances where JPJ is playing a different bass); the music just [stunk]. Jimmy Page plays very sloppy, so much that it hurts. Plant also has an uncontrolled soprano that just screeches around for no real reason. Its funny listening him do that simulate orgasm thing, which just sounds silly cuz at the end, i go "CHOO!". The first disc, almost all of the songs sound exactly the same, and Page does this solo called "white summer" which is extremely sloppy and unimaginative. He also tries to play fast, which really digs his own grave there. that's just the beginning of a bunch of things wrong with this DVD, save your money.

Summary: Definitive proof of being the greatest live rock band ever!
Review: Zeppelin has long been criticized for having sloppy live performances. yes, like any other band they had their off nights. however, we finally have footage of shows when they were on top of their game. this dvd proves that on their good nights they were explosive, revealing a raw energy level no other rock act could match.
My favorite footage is from the 1970 Royal Albert Hall show. these performances show them before the excesses of rock stardom affected their play. they did have only the first two albums of material to draw from. however, they concentrated more on just PERFORMING instead of on the showmanship and strutting around that page/plant would show in the 73,75, and 79 shows. has anyone else noticed how page seemed to develop a sweating problem as the years went by? on the 1970 footage, he is not sweating much at all. by the 1979 show he is sweating profusely. i rack this up to drug/alcohol abuse. his playing at the albert hall is clean, quick, and simply AWESOME! don't get me wrong, he was super on the later footage, but he would play no better than at the albert hall concert. as far as plant goes, he could still hit those high notes in 1970 and the excessive strutting and theatrics of the later shows is not present here. he concerned himself more with just singing instead of acting like a sex symbol. i can't forget bonham. check out his drum solo on moby dick. much better than the version on "the song remains the same". his heavy powerful drumming was the essential backbone to the zeppelin sound.
The Denmark radio show in March, 1969 is another highlight for me. zepp seemed out of their element in a studio setting with teenagers gathered around in a tight circle. this setting forced zepp to just play since they had little room to move around. the kids could literally reach out and touch them! although the footage is in black and white and the sound is only in pcm format, the performance is top shelf. you get to see the boys up close and personal, and they deliver!
The other highlights for me are:
- page on "in my time of dying" from the 1975 Earl Court concert. his combination of slide and picking on this song is a sight to behold.
- "Trampled Underfoot", from the same Earl's Court session. more great playing by page and some nice synthesizer from JPJ to boot.
- "The Ocean" from the 1973 Madison Square concert. why this wasn't included in "the song remains the same" movie is beyond me. page is again hitting on all cylinders with this one.
i found that bonham was the most impressive at the 1979 Knebworth show. his heavy drumming is the most evident here and shows how important he was to the band. i thought of all the members, his performance level dropped off the least through the years. if anything, he might of been at his best at the 1979 show, less than a year from his untimely death.
I highly recommend this 2 disc dvd because it is simply the best combo of audio/video of zepp available today. Enjoy!

Review: I bought this two days ago and have watched it repeatedly ALL weekend. Having been disapointed by the quality of The Song Remains The Same, I was a tad worried, but that only made this even more wonderful. The performances on this disc are godlike; no other way to state it. Excellent video/audio quality, a great selection of tracks, outsanding performances, and some very good bonus material all make this a must have. Heck, I'd have spent 10 times what I did for this and not feel cheated in the least. This is no exageration, you will not be dissapointed. This makes the performance on TSRTS seem like a cover band!

Summary: Led Zeppelin DVD - Another perspective
Review: It is natural that a Led Zeppelin fanatic would love this DVD. 5.5 hours of incredibly rare concert footage, interviews, etc. If you know the words to every Zeppelin song and wore out your Zeppelin t-shirt in high school or was one of those who wrote zoso all over your notebooks, this is right up your alley. But what about the more casual fan?
I, for one, for the most part have fallen into that category, the casual Zeppelin listener for some 20 years. I've always enjoyed the group's work but didn't really start to like it until long after the group's breakup. I've dabbled in Classic 60's groups (like Cream, the Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, the Stones, etc.), pop metal (KISS, Ratt, White Lion and many others), mainstream pop, blues, even country (though not much). Through all of this, Zeppelin never made my list of top five favorite groups....
Until perhaps now.
A big part of my increased respect is thanks to this DVD. In short, it's fantastic. By now, you've seen the reviews of Zeppelin ''experts,'' discussing the specifics of sites and years and songs. But what will really hit the average rock and roll lover is the ENERGY throughout these concerts, the tightness of the sets. Most groups are the same or worse live; they can't help it. They're victims of the technology that helps sell them. Zeppelin, as is the case with only the very greatest, is BETTER live, often MUCH better, giving whole new meaning to classic songs in these displays.
No rock and roll connisseur's library is complete without this. Slap down your [money], or whatever it takes, clear some time from your schedule and imagine almost being engrossed by the epicenter of rock and roll passion. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Nectar of the Gods! FIVE GIGANTIC PULSATING STARS!!!!
Review: My DVD player came to life and asked me after I played this two disc set, "what have you been putting in me before this?" The only answer I had was a befuddled, "...sorry"
Human technology can't hope to gauge the utter orgasmic giddy experience I had watching this stellar DVD release. If you aren't genuinely floored for at least a half hour, call your doctor because you've obviously died! I won't bother noting the high points...they're just too numerous.
If you don't buy this DVD today...you are less than human!

Summary: LZ are Greek Gods and people should be only grateful they c
Review: AOL welcome menu 5/31/03 shows led zeppelin again with link to window that offers to buy DVD, CD digital sheet music for Stairway to Heaven, Dancing Days Over the Hills and Far Away; Watch footage on Broadband etc, etc.

... I suppose there always jealousy and people in media are just human. They must have similar feelings to LZ as any of us but express it differently. I was watching DVD with friends who didn't even expect what I promised after seeing footage at Ciniplex. They were blown of the feet. And those are the taught critics, the artists in NYC who fight for their own acceptance and recognition. Led Zeppelin is heavens came down to earth and nothing could be done about it. Robert Plant has one voice that could bring the vision of Jimmy Page to fruition and there is no voice existing in history of rock music that would do the same. I care less about critics and media who will never be remembered but the great artists. I am so inspired by this DVD and CD! A friend who is a young artist said I am a teenager again watching DVD, youth returned to me, I feel so good. This what they do for you. I chatted on the IM with a buddy from Chicago who said he hates RP and after I offered to watch new DVD he said OK I will buy the stupid DVD. He is in his early twenties and must be real provincial. People just too jealous in all walks of life about such success and such true genius. Hard to accept someone is greater then you are. But I say that LZ are Greek Gods and people should be only grateful they came down to the earthly level to give such joy.
Talking about questions I just told my friends while watching Plant about a topic on Beads of Time board from which I am banned (lol) "if you had a chance to ask a question Robert Plant what would it be. And the answer of the most ardent music lover something in the context:"How many inches exactly of his love would he give?" Then media seems innocent after that type of questions, would you agree?
Dreamland site by the way is shut down not because of my posts now, there was a message singed Robert, I am gone but I will be back and his picture from his recent trip to Africa's music festival.

very truly yours

Summary: The best Rock band ever !
Review: Zeppelin fans buy this now ! I have all the Zep Cd's but this DVD is truly a pinnacle. My only regret as a lifelong fan is I never saw them live. This DVD almost makes up for that in some ways. The last peformance on the DVD is Knebworth, England in 1979 and the fab 4 are truly at the peak of their prowess. Pity we had to wait 24 years. Perhaps some genius at their record label will realize that many of us would also want all the material they did not use on this DVD - give us all there is !

5 hours of great Zeppelin. For those who are not Zep fans - watch this to learn what rock music is really about. This truly ranks amongst the best rock music DVD's released to date.
