Summary: Hillarious
Review: This is an excellent box set to have with both of the loveable Toy Story movies and the third disc which provides vast amount of information about how the concepts evolved for both movies. "Toy Story" is an incredible tale which explores the thought of what your toys really did when you weren't looking. There are many loveable characters such as Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Woody was Andy's favorite toy until Buzz Lightyear was given to Andy as a birthday present. This story takes you on an adventure with Woody, Buzz and many other toys that everyone remembers having as kids as they fight together in the end and become buddies. This movie has many funny moments which adults and children alike will appreciate. It is such an amazing piece of art and creativity that you want to watch it over and over again and keep noticing more and more each time. If you loved the first movie and you thought that it couldn't be topped, there is "Toy Story 2". I actually liked this movie even better than the first. Woody mistakenly ends up in a box to be sold at a yard sale and is bought by a toy collector. You get to meet Jessie the cowgirl, Bullseye the horse and Stinky Pete the prospector and learn more about Woody's background. And of course, Buzz, Mr. Potato Head and the rest of the toys go on an adventure to find and save Woody. This movie was hilarious and managed to tug at the heartstrings at the same time. The third CD in the set, takes you on a tour by John Lasseter and other members of the creative team through the entire experience of developing these two wonderful movies. From the history, story ideas, designs, music and sound and deleted animation one gains a greater appreciation for what it took to make these movies reality. This DVD is set up that you choose your path through all of the categories and subcategories. Many of these areas are basically screens of text that you have to read, so they may be beyond the reading level of some little ones. But it is definately worth surfing through. Overall this is a great box set and I would purchase it for adults and children alike.

Summary: Just as good as the first!
Review: The first Toy Story was entertaining to watch because of the creative graphics, concept and acting. I never thought Toy Story 2 could match up to it till I went to the theatre last december and saw the film. Its actually really really good and entertaining in my opinion and if you want the same old characters with a new twist then this is the film for you. Basically, Woody [Tom Hanks] is stolen by an evil toy collector and taken to his apartment. Once there, Woody discovers his past and what went with it. Woody's friends know that hes been captured so they set out on a mission to find him, which is quite hilarous, especially in the toy store. The rest of the movie is about Woody and finding out some not so nice things about his new life he may live, and wants to go back home, but can't because of some evil toys. Both Toy Stories are good with cute animation, a good story line and plenty of funny laughs and comedy. If you liked the 1st one you'll love the 2nd one so buy it because its the type of film u can watch again and again!

Summary: Worth Buying on DVD - 2 is Better and Gentler than 1
Review: The sound and picture of the DVD is very good. The VHS version of Toy Story 2 does contain the outtakes and Luxo Jr. However, the outtakes are in miniature during the closing credits, whereas on the DVD they are full-sized and separate. The VHS also has a music video of Riders of the Purple Sage singing the Woody theme song, whereas on the DVD there is no music video, although the song is there during the closing credits. The music video is not worth foregoing the DVD's other benefits, however. On the merits of the movies, 2 is an improvement in every way from 1, and far, far gentler. While 1 was a good movie (and too dark for the very young), 2 is a great movie, and appropriate for all ages (with one early video game scene excepted for the very young).

Review: Okay, I'll admit it. I was a little embarrassed purchasing the double movie pack because ... well, I have no kids and I figured these movies were primarily for kids. But after reading all of the high rated reviews here, I just had to try it. I'm glad I did. These movies are great! No matter who the targeted audience was, these movies will be enjoyed by people of all ages, with or without kids. I had a wonderful time watching Toys. The animation was great, the voice acting was just wonderful, and the storyline was very enjoyable as well. I liked it so much that right after finishing the first movie, I plopped the second movie in the DVD player. Again, I was very impressed with the clever, humorous and touching scenes. And as with the first, the voice acting was very good. To top it off, if young ones do watch it, it provides some good lessons on caring and friendship that shouldn't be missed. My recommendation, buy (or rent) the movies. You don't have to be a kid -- or have any -- to enjoy them. But you might want to watch them more than once, so the purchase is probably the better deal.

Summary: Two great films in one pack......
Review: The film that redefined cinematic technology and its sequal make a great set. Despite the second film's excellent reviews, I still enjoy the first better. Though this is a great set to own, it has practically no extra features, NOT EVEN TRAILERS. Sure, the list looks long, but look over it again. It is mainly technical mumbo jumbo. And the so-called "out takes" are during the credits of TS2, nothing I haven't seen. Despite all my dissing about disc space being wasted, the two films together are good enough....

Summary: Hats off to Toy Story 2!
Review: The animation in the second Toy Story movie is even better than the first. When the toy repair man comes to visit, I was amazed at the animation of the tool box. I want one of those! Such a pitty it is only available in animation land. I love the way the toys all try to take care of each other and stick together. There are so many funny things in this movie. Adults might be the only ones to catch onto some of the jokes. I sometimes wonder if these movies are made for adults or children. Perhaps it is the child in all of us that loves animation. You will think of toys differently or perhaps remember how you thought of them as a child. In the second movie, Cowboy Woody is all ready to go off to Cowboy camp when his arm is torn and he is left on the shelf. Soon thereafter he "hilariously" (carried by the very adorable dog) ends up in the yard sale where a toy collector discovers him. Soon some of the toys decide to rescue him. Through some great detective work they figure out where Woody is. The problem is that Woody feels sorry for Jessie who is scared to go back into the box until another Woody can be found. The Cowboy toys are all in a set, which is about to be shipped off to Japan. Without Woody, the set is not complete. As a fan of Tom Hanks, I love that he is the voice for Cowboy Woody. The Cowgirl Jessie is just so animated...to put it mildly. She is very enthusiastic! All the voice casting is perfect. Buzz Lightyear is of course the tough guy who is going to save the world. Mr. Potato Head is so cute. All the toys are animated to their full potential. I thought the horse was absolutely the best toy and really took on a personality. It reminded me more of a dog than a horse. Simply amazing computer animation and a must see!

Summary: I have a two year old and she loves it!
Review: Like my title says, I have a two year old that loves this movie. She loves to scream out the names of the characters as they appear on screen. When wheezy starts to sing his song at the end of the movie she turns to me and says "more story". I have seen this movie approx. 50 times and still can sit through it (although not with the same energy as the first 10 times). This has to be the best movie for 2-3 yr. olds on the market

Summary: I'M BUZZ LIGHT YEAR SPACE RANGER! I think....
Review: Yeah, so I'm a 20 year old watching an "animated" movie, but look at the movie! Heck, this movie is worth watching for just the Computer Graphics. Story I features Tom Hank's character, Woody, coming to terms with not being Andy's favorite toy anymore when a new toy (enter Tim Allen's Buzz Lightyear) comes into the picture. Minimal singing and lots of hillarious lines make this a great movie for all ages. Story II features Woody being, well, toynapped. Buzz and the gang embark on adventure to gain the Woody one back. My only qualm with this movie is that there are two songs (I REALLY don't like singing in movies, but that's just me) in it. However, the writers seem to have realized that there are people of all ages watching this movie, so keep your eyes and ears open for more "mature" jokes.

Summary: Improves on the stellar original...
Review: Great Bargain! Two of the most wonderful animated films of all time packaged together for the price of one! TS1 is already groundbreaking for the seamless computer animation and family-friendly fare, but TS2 manages to do it one better. The in-jokes are funnier, the animation is smoother, the storyline more compelling, and the "outtakes" at the end provide the biggest laughs. My favorite part of this movie, however, has to be Sarah McLachlan's vocals on the song Randy Newman wrote for this film, "When She Loved Me." It is a bittersweet love song written through the eyes of a toy doll, and it is a heartwrencher. Justly nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song last year, it inexplicably lost to another Disney-movie song, a schmaltz-filled snoozer by Phil Collins. But I digress... The digital video of DVD presents the splendid computer animation of the TS films in all its crispness. They even look darn near 3D played on a DVD-ROM. Of particular interest as a bonus --- a teaser for MONSTERS, INC., another computer animation feature coming in 2001. The delightully funny trailer features the voices of John Goodman and Billy Crystal, and also includes Danny Elfman's score from MIDNIGHT RUN as the temporary music track. TOY STORY 2 takes the same rollicking fun and adventure as TOY STORY 1 and turns it up a notch. Fun, fun, fun!!!
