Review: Panic Room is without doubt the best movie 2002. More entertaining than Spider-Man. But I think PR isn't Finchers best movie: Fight Club is an absolutley masterpiece, but PR is a masterpiece, too !! SEE THIS ONE!!!!!

Summary: INTENSE,nerve racking perfomance by Jody
Review: Awesome movie! Jody does a great job showing the fear amd terror that you would feel if your home was invaded by men who are out to find millions..Every time you think "what would I do" she does it and it fails. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat through the entire thing. It's quite an adrenaline rush! Very good story,supporting cast and fantastic camera work.. I definetly recomend this movie for excitement and terror....

Summary: Great Movie
Review: Panic Room was wonderful. I loved every moment of it. If some of you are thinking "How much action can a 12 year old girl and Jodie Foster produce?" Well, a lot. This movie had great cinematography and great acting. It was not an unbelievable Matrix type of movie. There was no bending over backward, just Jodie Foster kicking some major butt. In one scene, I won't give details, but you could hear the whole theater gasp. I was literally on the edge of my seat. All in all, Panic Room is great. Go see it!

Summary: "Home Alone" for adults
Review: I was expecting an exciting thriller, but the movie did not meet my expectations. Although Jodie Foster's acting is fine, the story itself is not that convincing. Very little happened in a very long time. The constant hide and seek between Jodie Foster and the theives reminded me of the movie Home Alone. It got to the point where I thought, "What's next, is she going to throw the marbles down the stairs now (like the boy in Home Alone)?" I believe that Jodie Foster's daughter was a miscast, because she was unappealing, and you just didn't care that much for her. And she looked like a boy! All in all, the movie has its exciting moments, but overall, merely borderline OK.

Summary: "Panic Room" is alright
Review: Panic Room has one of the more interesting ideas for a movie i've seen in a while. A divorced women and her young daughter must face 3 ruthless criminals with unknown intentions from a secure "Panic Room." The movies plot suspenseful and enjoyable until the very end and the panic room theme plays out very well. Unfortunatly the shallow characters and incredible stupidity of the main character, as well an unsatisfactory ending, bring the movie down a few notches. The film has some unrealism that don't go with the films seriousness (How many swat teams would yell "Freeze Motha-F****"?). If you don't mind the home-aloneish qualities, it's a fairly enjoyable movie.

Summary: Never went in the Room
Review: I have such mixed feelings about this movie and here's why: it's boring. The movie really is about two hours of monotony. However, David Fincher has a great concept here and filming using such minimal sets hasn't been done as effectively since Hitchcock. The idea of a one room horror film is fascinating but the movie fails to be truly gripping. What it does succeed at is "feeling" right. David Fincher managed to grasp that indescribable something that makes everyone say "cool" even though they are quite possibly bored out of their minds. It would be a nice movie to add to the collection if you happen to have some extra cash lying around and are looking for something a little bit different.

Summary: This is your time to panic.
Review: The plot: A woman (Jodie Foster) recently divorced from her millionaire husband, moves to a super luxurious house with her young daughter. The house features a "panic room", especially designed to keep intruders out. It is not long before they will be able to test it. During their first night in the house, three intruders, led by Forest Whitaker, not knowing that the house is already inhabited, are trying to get in. Foster and her daughter realize that the only chance for them to be safe from the intruders would be to lock themselves in the "panic room". What they don't realize though, is that what the intruders are looking for, IS in the "panic room"...There were two main reasons for being eager to see 'Panic Room':
a.Jodie Foster. Having read the main points of the plot, I really thought that it would provide her with the opportunity for a performance equal to the one she gave in 'Silence of the Lambs'.
b.David Fincher. Starting from 'Seven', I have really enjoyed his filmography and there was no chance I would miss his latest work. I was not mistaken. Foster and Fincher are surely up to the task. But they represent the two major -if not, the only- reasons to watch 'Panic Room'.
(OK, let's not ignore the always likable Forest Whitaker, who, as always, plays a likable character in a likable manner) Panic Room is not a bad movie. But for me, it represents more of a lost opportunity.
How can a movie with such great ingredients (Foster+Fincher) in such important posts (main role+direction) miss? The answer is simple. Screenplay. The main idea is there, but overall, the story is rather weak, with few original twists. I am really looking forward to the next collaboration of Fincher and Foster, hoping that the result would be closer to the high expectations I have from both of them.

Summary: Jodie Foster = good actor...Panic Room = horrible movie
Review: I don't know why this movie got such high ratings. I don't know if the critics were paid off, but I know that this was the worst, most unthrilling movie, (which it was supposed to be...) that I have ever seen. seriously though, I thought it was more funny than it was scary, which ruined it for me. I think the "scariest" part was the father getting the s**t kicked out of him. Everyone in the theater moaned when all the stupid points in the movie came up, which were in abundence by the way. At the end of the movie, I stood up and said aloud "that was the worst movie I have ever seen" and everyone agreed. Does that tell you something?

Review: Panic Room was great. I was genuinely surprised with the content of this movie. At the Starlight theater, everyone was glued to the screen. See this movie and I think you will be pleased with Jodie Foster's ability as an actress. Very intense! Would recommend to anyone!

Summary: Good, but not great
Review: David Fincher can always be relied on for well-paced, darkly tantalizing entertainment, and David Koepp is a fine and versatile writer. It's no surprise then that 'Panic Room' doesn't disappoint. But it hardly ranks with their best efforts. As in 'Fight Club', Fincher's wall-dissolving camera tricks are impressive. But they actually work against the tension in this story by placing the audience beyond the claustrophobic reality of the house. Similarly, Koepp's story premise and dialogue are good enough to keep you watching, but his plot offers few real surprises. Ultimately, it's the performances which save the day. Would-be robbers Leto, Whittaker and Yoakam strike the perfect balance between incompetence and menace; and Jodie Foster manages to be maternal, terrified and fearless - all at the same time. No wonder she has two Oscars.
