Summary: The BEST horror/splatter film of all time!
Review: I have seen plenty of horror films, and none have the gorgeous atmosphere or beautiful camera techinques as this film. Mr. Argento (the savior of Italian horror) has such a capacity to shock and terrify, and Suspiria is probably his grandest achievement. I strongly recommend obtaining a COMPLETELY uncut and uncensored copy of Suspiria (which runs around 107 minutes) to get the full effect and to truly appreciate this grand film.

Review: For those who don't know this is the uncut version of "Suspiria". These version has the scene of "a heart being yanked out, etc". What I would like to say about these movie it's that it's a bath of cinema (and blood!); Dario Argento is the best - I repeat, the best - horror movies director of all times. What he does here it's a simple show about making a good picture: it's not what you say, but how you say it. If you like a good horror movie or a good example of "mise en scéne", as the "Cahiérs du Cinéma" guys like to say, you certainly have got to buy this movie.

Review: This movie is great and worth the price. The story is great as well as the special effects. Ive bought this movie at $90.00 and it was worth it. I wish theyd make more horro movies like this. Everything about it is good the suspense of it and the music. I quess the itlians are they only ones good at making horror films.

Summary: Would be 4 stars if uncut.
Review: Most folks don't realize it, but this American release of 'Suspiria' is cut. The uncut Italian original includes supernatural scenes of a heart being yanked out, etc. This may seem excessive and unnecessary to some, but the physicality of Argento's body horror is what gives his films their power. And it is actually what makes them intellectually interesting in that they coincide with the realization of many post-modernist philosophers that Descartes was wrong: the body matters. And Argento's films go on to explore the significance of the body's identity, boundries, borders, containment--its destruction goes beyond the matter of mortality or it wouldn't be so horrifying with every repetition of its imagery. (Lets face it, images of death alone do not horrify us.) David Cronenberg explores this territory to some extent as well, but in terms of our historical/material conditions. Anyways, Amazon: please find the uncut version to this and to all the other classic Argento films.

Summary: Classiest Horror Film Ever!
Review: I really enjoyed this. Visually it is impressive almost like fine art. The plot is sort of dumb but for the most part makes sense. Scary movie especially the scene near the end where the heroine discovers the Black Queen in the cellar. Must be seen in wide screen uncut to enjoy it to it's full effect. Best horror film I ever saw!

Summary: Disturbing and violent, but one of Dario Argento's best.
Review: While this is not a movie that is suitable for all adults, at least those that cannot appreciate graphic Italian horror films, "Suspiria" is one of director Dario Argento's best films and my personal favorite.What helps to make this film scary is the loud soundtrack from The Goblins and the dark photography. If you want to see a really good Italian horror film, let Suspiria be the one. Keep in mind that this is an extremely violent film.

Summary: It wasn't the last ten minutes, but the first five!
Review: Why does everyone say that the last ten minutes are so scary? They really aren't. I say the first five or so were really freaky. I couldn't follow what was going on, but I was definitely scared. I also liked when Suzie's roommate friend went through all the scary scenes in the film, up to the barbed wire scene. That was all pretty good. And the soundtrack is amazing. I need a CD of that! It's truly inspiring for a writer writing horror late at night. This movie was okay, but the acting was kind of slow, as was the middle of the film. I say the first five and the last thirty seconds thrilled me the most.

Summary: Oh, the sights; the sounds!
Review: This movie, although possibly a bit dated when seen through the eyes of today's audiences, is brilliant. Dario Argento is the true master of horror and camera magic; he doesn't disappoint here. The lighting, the colors, the amazing camera angles, the stunning soundtrack by Goblin, and the great, gory murders all make this film a true masterpiece. The acting is somewhat silly and amateurish, save Jessica Harper (whatever happened to her?? She's great!), but isn't that commonplace in many 70s Italian horror flicks? If you are one of those rare movie fans who enjoy style and sensuality in your video picks, grab this wonderful film, kill the lights, and feast on divinity!
