Summary: What a waste of money.
Review: I cannot believe they put so much time and money into a movie as [bad] as this one. Even the battle scenes didn't bring any emotion to me. (Not to mention the utter lack of blood and body parts, which made the Pearl Harbor attack scene seem very unrealistic. My friend and I blamed this on the MPAA). The only reason I gave this movie two stars instead of one is because my friend and I fast forwarded through over an hour of the movie to get to the war parts.

Now that I think of it, I will give this movie only one star because of all the fast forwarding we had to do to see anything of interest in this movie.

The only reason I decided to rent this movie was to see what everyone was raving about. Can so many people be wrong about a movie? Why yes, they can.

Summary: A BETTER CUT & A GREAT DVD RELEASE!
Review: The Vista Series has released the biggest and greatest DVD package ever assembled with "Pearl Harbor- The Director's Cut." The new 184 Minute cut is edited better. The attack sequence is more realistic and graphic, the reason for this cut's R-rating. And the four-disc set features hours of behind-the-scenes footage, two documentaries on the real attack and the Doolittle Raid, and commentary tracks from Michael Bay and Janine Basinger; Jerry Brucheimer, Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett and Alec Baldwin; The Director of Photography, Costume Designer, Visual Effects Supervisor and Composer. A great addition to the DVD collection. And if you think this is good, then get ready for the November release of "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring- The Director's Edition" four-disc set! Movie Grade: A+; DVD Grade: A+

Summary: One of the worst movies ever made...
Review: Once again Michael Bay proves his lack of originality, following fellow Hollywood Action director James Cameron's footsteps and changing the pace from overrated, hype-driven action movies to make a sappy, over-budgeted, under-written, historical epic love drama. This is truely a terrible film. I guess you can't really call it "historical" since Bay addded plenty of "Hollywood" effects to the shocking surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor. Let's face it, this movie was not intended to be a "war" movie, the intention was to be a love drama. But it failed terribly at achieving even that. The love triangle drama was very unbelievable and "corny." Maybe the bad acting had something to with it, but it was not at all believable. I cannot express how angry this film makes me. It is a perfect example of what a ... movie is. Bad directing, bad acting, a bad script, just overall bad. I watched this with a group of friends and didn't really have a choice in what I was doing. Don't make the same mistake as I did, don't waste precious hours of your important life, DEFINATELY don't spend money to buy this. In all honesty, I HATE Hollywood movies, but if you're going to watch a war-related Hollywood drama, watch something like "Saving Private Ryan." But if you want to watch some REAL war movies, watch Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" and Francis Ford Coppela's "Apocalypse Now."

Summary: A hard movie overall to give thumbs up
Review: It has a terribly cliched love triangle and scenes that are cut and chopped together in a pointless manner. Only when the attack on Pearl and the 30 seconds over Tokyo in the ending are we treated to an epic spectacle. Unfortunately, the remaining two hours is fairly standard and boring stuff. I like the stars but few are very good. Affleck is a good actor but I dont think anyone could have made such silly dialogue plausible. Its worth watching for the amazing battle scenes, which are to be honest hard to watch since they vividly represent a traumatic time in American history. I recommend renting it, unless you are a die hard fan of WWII films.

Summary: An Action flick not to miss
Review: This movie made me cry like a baby. Maybe because I'm obsessed with Josh Hartnett, or maybe because of the amazing plot line of historical events. Ben Affleck was wonderful, even though im no big fan. Kate Beckinsale did well too, as well as Cuba Gooding Jr., though his role was minor

Summary: Who Came up with this Trash?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Review: What a sorry excuse for a war movie! I had to see it for myself. I thought my friends were just exagerating, but I guess they weren't. This is one horrible movie that should've never been made. This is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!

Now, this movie DID have some potential. From the previews it looked like another cool war movie. Then, they say that it's PG-13, and I knew it was going to go downhill from there. War movies need violence; not to glorify the deaths, but to add the depths of realism to it. That's just how war is.

Then, what happens halfway through the movie? A no good friggen love triangle!!! All of the sudden this is no longer a war movie, it transforms into a really bad episode of the Jerry Springer show!

However, the reason why I gave this two stars instead of one is because the movie looked and sounded really good. The picture quality was outstanding and the sound was very top notch. And there were moments that I did like. Some of the war scenes were well done. But the story of the movie is what brought the whole thing down. As a war movie, this film..... well.... [stunk]. Sorry, but that's how I feel. In case that doesn't make it on this public review, let me say that it stunk beyond recognition.

If you want to really see a great war movie, I recommend "Black Hawk Down," a very magnificent and powerful movie that will almost have you in tears. It puts "Pearl Harbor" to shame. The love story in this movie was horrible, the acting was very unconvincing, and other than some well-done moments of combat, this movie will leave you wanting to get the asprin. A well produced DVD does not make up for the horrible movie that lies within. No special feature or Easter Egg can save this sorry movie....

Summary: DVD Better Then The Original Theatrical Release
Review: This movie almost put me to sleep in the theatre. TOO, too mushc of a love story. Way too much! They could have cut an hour out of the movie and I would have enjoyed it so much more.

It works better on the small screen. The attack itself is done very well. The story still lacks integrity, but the visuals are good.

The best part about the DVD is the extra features. There is a great perspective video on PerlHarbor. Even the making of the movie documentary is much better than the movie itself overall.

The best thing I can say is that the extras on the DVD are better than the Movie itself.

Summary: Special Effects ROCKED!!!
Review: I really love the way the planes flew through the house very naturally. Even on a Dolby Pro Logic system, it sounded so real. The transition of the air planes flying from the back to the front was very accurate, real-like, and smooth. Also, having this in a 2.35:1 original aspect ratio, it gave more breathing room for them planes to fly, unlike some butchered up version you'd get on VHS. Speaking of which, I saw the first 5 minutes of Pearl Harbor on Pay Per View and it was Pan and Scanned to a 1.85:1 aspect ratio and it was bad. It looked too tight. Imagine what having it P&Sed down to 1.33:1 would look like. If you want to see this movie, don't watch it on PPV, or any of the movie channels, but watch it on DVD. The special effects and the visuals will blow you away. My Passive subwoofer was rockin' too. I was surprized.

Summary: Good Movie, Slow in some parts
Review: I thought this was a good movie, and not as bad as some people thought it was, everyone has a different opionion. I thought the love story at the beginning was a little bit long but the action parts were really cool espically at the movie theater. The DVD is really awesome because of the special features including the faith hill video...she is an awesome singer.

Summary: Can't go any lower
Review: I couldn't go lower than one star so that's what's it getting. I can't believe how much they twisted history to try and make it fit into the Hollywood image.
