Rating: Summary: VIVIEN LEIGH`S TRIUMPH Review: The creative genius of producer David O. Selznick and the casting of Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O`Hara made GONE WITH THE WIND the greatest melodrama of the 20th century. Selznick was obsessed with details; he had three directors - Cukor - Wood - Fleming(assisted by Reeves Eason and William Cameron Menzies) - YES he wanted GONE WITH THE WIND to be a P R O D U C E R`s dream. H e was the REAL director. However, his casting of 26-year strong willed British young actress couldn't have been more successful. Here the producer met a strong-willed British young actress. She had defenite opinions and often clashed with her co-stars, director (Fleming) and Selznick himself over lines and interpretation. In the end she was right. Thanks to the two of them, GONE WITH THE WIND still entertains. The production values are superior. There never was an actress of such beauty and talent
Rating: Summary: Gone With The Wind is the greatest! Review: Gone With The Wind is the greatest movie that was ever made. Not only did it have a wonderful cast, but the costumes and sets were fantastic. Vivien Leigh is Scarlett O'Hara and she deserved her Oscar she received for her role. The fact that the story revolves around a woman who was independent and strong and who never gave up no matter how difficult things became, makes a great statement about Scarlett O'Hara. She may not have been the greatest person, but she did have courage to continue on fighting. Scarlett and her determination is what makes this movie great.
Rating: Summary: Tha best story of all times!!! Review: This is the most spectacular story I have ever read. I admire Scarlett, the way she fought and the way she loved, even without knowing. Rhett is the love of my life. It is a great movie with brilliant performances. A must-see must-have movie. Scarlett the sequel is a good book, but if it is taken as a sepatate story, the movie was terrible!! Viva GWTW forever!!!
Rating: Summary: An Excellent example of what Hollywood is capable of ,doing Review: I would give this a thumbs up.Gable did the job just like he was born in this era.Leigh showed a outstanding performance considering how young she was.The scenery was fantastic especally the burning of Atlanta. The story was exciting and capable of keeping your intrest on edge. The ending was rather suprising, justified but sad and he will probly regret it further down the line if the story was to continue.this is very short.
Rating: Summary: FIVE STARS for the movie . . . but only FOUR for the DVD Review: One of the greatest movies of all time . . . but the DVD is disappointing for 2 reasons:1) For such a great film, the DVD does not contain many "extras." 2) The "new" sound is not very impressive. Despite these disappointments, the movie itself is worth every penny of the purchase price.
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Movie Of All Time IS GWTW Review: I saw this movie when I was about 12 and ever since then I have been a huge fan. The story is excellent and set in a period of history that will never exist again. It was beautifully made, with excellent actors, script and direction. I hope my daughters will enjoy this movie in the future as it shows a strong woman and her will to survive through all kinds of obstacles. I will forever believe that GWTW is one of the greatest movies of all time.
Rating: Summary: The best movie I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Review: I loved Gone With The Wind and will always. I would recomend everyone to see it at least onced and they will be crazy about it to but the sequel "Scarlett" the book writen by Alexandra Riply is really great but the movie was a total horrible piece of misleading trash that did not even try to follow the book. I hated it and I dont know anyone that didnt hate it.
