Summary: Fushigi Yuugi- Mysterious Play
Review: This particular anime has had some not-so-great reviews, but I thought it was awesome! If you like romance to the extreme, you'll probably like Fushigi Yuugi, too. One thing I thought was impressive (but has not had great reviews) is the fact that the animation was copied almost exactly from the manga: word for word, frame for frame. I really liked that.

Summary: garbage..save your money
Review: I would give this zero stars if possible! She whines to much and takes away time from the more interesting secondary characters..the monk and the bandit and the transexual. Also, the rape scenes was totally unnecessary and so out of place. And the Miaka eating everything is like done in every 15 minutes. It gets outplayed pretty fast.. All i can hear is Miaka saying GOMEN GOMEN about how she fails at everything... Oh my god, at this price, the dvd boxed set is a rip. This series has so many writing problems. The art is mediocre at best. YOu can tell who is an important character becasue they are all dressed in vibrant colors, everyone else in the universe don't have make up or costumes on!

I totally admonish to spend your hard earned dollars elsewhere! So many of the characters ultimately die...i was hoping Miaka died.. but she didtn'.. damn!

Summary: Fushigi Yuugi - The Mysterious Play (Suzaku Box Dub)
Review: "This is the story of a girl (Miaka, later Yui), who made her dreams come true after she became to possess the seven starts of Suzaku (seven warriors of Suzaku), and many powers were bestowed upon her (Summon Suzaku and have wishes granted, as far as this set goes). The story itself (The Universe of the Four Gods) is a spell" The one who reads it through will be given the powers and granted a wish like the girl in the story. Because... The story itself begins and becomes real... The moment the first page is turned." --The Universe of the Four Gods--

The first of the tapes, and part of the second, runs like any other "Magical Girl" genre Anime. Though those characteristics remain through the episodes, it starts running like a "Romance" genre Anime.

Over all, there are not many dull moments. I have seen 13+ AGE restrictions on it and understand why. Though it "is kind to the body", some areas are suggestive to thought.

Even with the usual changes of genders from Japan to NA Dub, and with some patience the first few episodes, Fushigi Yuufi - The Mysterious Play I can recomend to and one who likes the "Magical Girl" or "Romance" genre's of Anime.

They are both crowned as priestess on two largest empires of Ancient China 'Suzaku & Seiryu'. Then, the conspiracies start between these empires. This season is the introduction of the whole story & the seven celestial warriors of Suzaku. The story is incredible, the artwork is fantastic and the DVD box set is a valuable manga collecteros edition.

Summary: One of the Greatest Japanimation series!
Review: I have always been into these kinds of films and i hate the slow stupid moving US because it keeps people from wonderful show like this! This box set includes beauitful animation and a heart filled story that caught me way off guard! I love the story line which is about a 15 year old girl and her friend who, when reading a book, get trapped inside the story. The main character Miaka becomes the Priestess of Suzaku and her friend Yui, becomes her enemy the Priestess of Sieryu. Miaka also wins the heart of the handsom Tamahome, which lady Yui also is in love with. The animation is a bit limited but the romantic and action packed story line and wonderful art work makes up for that BIG TIME! I think that it is worth the money and everyone should buy it because it rocks!

Summary: Perfection
Review: Fushigi Yuugi is a well planned, deep plotted anime, with a bunch of twists and turns. Yui and Miaka are two teenagers in Japan, who discover "The Universe Of The Four Gods," a book that transports them into another world. Miaka is sort of like Goku in DBZ if you will, her love of food and ditzy behaviour make her a loveable character. I reccomend the box set, which has all 8 of the first season episodes. The whole set is 89 dollars, which is not bad at all considering that buying one video at a time ends up totalling around 32 dollars, and buying the box set the videos cost around 11 dollars apeice. So what deal do you want?! 32 dollars a video or 11 dollars a video in the boxed set?! Don't miss out on this great anime.

Summary: The best of the best EVER!
Review: This is the best anime you'll ever seen! Its beautiful story makes you lagh and cry! It was made for anyone who is romantic and love adventure with a bit of suspense! I only can say one thing: if you have the money to afford it, so don't waste the chance to buy it. It's beautifully done on every aspect (art, music, story and so on)! But one recomendation: it's made for the young-adult public, because of the complexity of the plot and other implications, such as rape and violence. Well, about the story itself, there's nothing I can add that has not been said by the others viewers. Oh, just one more thing: once you start to watch it, you'll not be able to stop! So, enjoy yourself!

Summary: One of the Greatest Anime's out there
Review: This is an extremely awesome series, so far. I've seen the first season and am totally hooked. I can't help it! It's addicting! The story line is really interesting and is very easy to fallow but it's never easy to guess what's going to happen next. The series does have a girlier theme to it but that's no reason not to get it. The story has romance/action/suspence/comedy and many other things wrapped up into it!

The story itself is an enchantment that hooks you the first moment you get into the story. It's the same for the girl of the story. Miaka Yuki (I'm an americain so I list the first name first and last name last) is a teenage girl who falls into the story with her friend and is taken through a great journy to become the Priestest of Suzaku, one of the four gods of the main key points. (Get that?:) On this journy she falls in love, losses her best friend, who turns into an enemy and almost dies several times.

Everyone should own this if your into anime. And guys, don't think, "just becuase it has romance, that it's not cool to watch." Several of my very close guy friends that are typical boys that really only like to watch sports and Jerry Springer, surprisingly got into the story. Yes, I was surprised too, because that normally doesn't happen but it did. Meaning that everyone can get into it!

I highly recommed this to anyone intrigued. ;)

Summary: Fushigi Yuugi - Top Notch Anime
Review: This was far and away the best anime I have ever seen (and I've seen them all from macross to plastic little to birdy and even lain). It combines a plot that will leave you gasping for breath at the end and literally weeping for more. The ending was superb (Don't worry, I won't ruin it for you...) and the artistry was second to none. I would give this movie 6 stars! (And I have only given out 2 in most reviews!!!!) If you only see 1 anime in the fantasy genre (as opposed to robots, navis and comedies) you have to see Fushigi Yuugi (Mysterious Play). (On a side note, the second series was forced out of the author, so it is ill advised to watch it if you are not a HARDCORE anime buff that really wants to know about this stuff.)

Summary: Knock knock! Who's there? Kouji! Oh come on in! Thank you!
Review: In Red's honest opinion. I loved the series. I will admitting to watching the entire series in one sitting. It's quite a long time, took the whole day. You've heard it before, Miaka (shi'ne!) and Yui get sucked into the book, and Tamahome saves there... innocence... but Yui is sucked back home and Miaka begins in adventures in the book. They meet the gorgeous Suzaku seishi warriors, Tamahome, Hotohori, Tasuki, ChiChiri, Nuriko (>.<), Mitsukake, and Chiriko (the real one). When they meet the opposing Seiryu seishi, you get another three gorgeous guys! I love the way that the opposition isn't totally evil, they just want revenge on Miaka who seems to be the source of their suffering. (Poor Miaka, no wait, I don't feel sorry for her!).

As to the animation, it could be better, and it took a while to not scowl every time someone went super-deformed (Catch that fake miniature deformed general!) or chibi, but it's kinda cute. The dubs aren't half bad, and the original Japanese tracks are great.

The music that comes with the series is great, and there is lots of stuff by the Japanese voice actors that is very entertaining. (THTC!)

It's one of my favorites, and a great buy!

Also recommended: Utena, Escaflowne, Blue Seed.
