Rating: Summary: Stupid, badly produced documental on a great star... Review: I bought this DVD hoping to find a serious interesting documental on the life and works of Maria Felix, doubtless Mexico's top film star, beauty and personality. I guess I was expecting something with the quality of an A&E Biography.... Not such luck! Hispanic home video firms continue their old practice of coming up with bad product at top prices. With this DVD they reached a new low. It is totally unforgivable for Televisa (one of the world's wealthiest corporations) to come with such a piece of crap... This looks like a hastily edited 45-minutes long assembly of Felix footage from barely seven of her films to which somebody added a dumb voice over. On top of it, the sound mixing is all wrong and it is either too high or too low to the point that on occasions you can't even understand what's being said... I was surprised on closing credits to read the names of so many people involved in this project... What they all did in this documentary is beyond comprehension. Televisa should be run out of business for making an interesting personality such as Maria Felix come across totally boring... The longest film clip in this low budget stupidity features not Maria Felix but Pedro Armendariz and another actor in a long dialog that goes on and on without the presence of the female subject. (The editor of this docu-crap must have been out to lunch) I gave it a 1 star because it is the lowest but I admit that the art work is pretty... But that does not justify the expense... Don't waste your money on frauds like this... Maybe Televisa and the other video firms, who live off the long suffering Hispanic market, will get the message one of these days...
