Summary: Best Bond
Review: I've seen only 6,But I think The spy who loved me is the best
Bond Roger Moore has ever done.Barbara Bach was great as Anya Amasova, while Curt Jurgens did a good job as Karl Stromberg. The Lotus Esprit, "Wet Nellie" is the best vehicle
underwater besides the Bathosub.Jaws made his debut and boy,was it good for Richard Kiel.I liked the train battle
when he tried to kill Anya and failed,as well as the time he
murdered Fekkish and Max Kalba. Also,I liked the time he bit through a shark in Atlantis and survived the blow. The gunfight on the Liparus was good, too and the car chase was fantastic.
First there's the biker who ended up in a blow between two pillow trucks (All these Feathers and he still can't fly!),then there was Jaws and three other guys in another car,but they went through the roof which caused a bit of shock to that old guy who sat there under it due to the cement slick Bond threw in.Naomi, the pilot came in,007 and Triple X took the plunge and Lotus Esprit became Wet Nellie.Bond blasted her out of the air with a torpedo. After taking down some
frog-men with a bomb,it came out leaking in the middle of a beach. This is a fancy use of action!I also liked the unique location undersea:Atlantis. The place is full of Technology and sharks.Jaws and Karl Stromberg were effective villains and Anya Amasova is sassy, beautiful and has got a sense of humour like 007.They make a good match.Q's gadget lab in Egypt was good. The blade edged tea-tray is one of the best gadgets not used in the movie by Bond.I also liked the ski scene. The ski pole guns were pretty handy for Bond in the introduction and so is the parachute.
Out of all Roger Moore's & Richard Kiel's Performances,TSWLM is the one I like best.

Summary: Enjoyable Bond film
Review: There were some cheesy moments in this film - witness the music when the van is breaking down in the desert - but on the whole this is a very good Bond. Agent XXX is a great match for 007.

Summary: Nobody does it better than 007
Review: After the critical and commercial failure of 1973's The Man with the Golden Gun, the producers of the Bond series came back with The Spy Who Loved Me, one of the best films in the franchise. Lewis Gilbert, who would go on to direct Moonraker (1979), gives the film a much more fantastical feel than Moore's previous outings, with incredible action, spectacular stunts, and with Barbara Bach as Agent Anya Amasova, one of the sexiest Bond pin-ups since Pussy Gaore graced the screen back in 1964. One of Moore's best Bond flicks.

Summary: Best Roger Moore Entry, top five overall in series
Review: After the disappointing "The Man With The Golden Gun", the Bond people came back in a big way with "The Spy Who Loved Me". This film catched Roger Moore in stride as the infamous spy. The dialoge gives Roger Moore great range to act and the humor is more subdued than in the previous two entries. The plot is good and easy to follow with actual suspense. "The Spy Who Loved Me" has great locations, great gadgets and cars, and great characters like Stromberg, Jaws and the beautiful Barbara Bach. Overall, this movie is the best of the Roger Moore era, and is, in my opinion, one of the best out of the whole series.

Summary: The most well done Bond movie ever done
Review: This movie is a gem, and if I could I would give an extra star. The plot is interesting and captivating (reminds you of Moonrakers' plot). The DVD has a fair amount of extras, the highlight would probaly be the interview with the cast. The theme song (Nobody does it Better) is my favorite James Bond song, and is sung beautifully.
The one thing that might lose you is the opening scene when it closes up on Roger Moore (while he's skiing). Although you cannot really hold that against them ,because the 70's didn't have too great "artificial" backgrounds. The character that is the best played would have to be Jaws (Richard Keil). He and Bond fight over and over again, but Jaws always comes out un-scathed.
If you love James Bond movie, this is a must.

Summary: Nobody does it better
Review: Baby, this one's the best!

Until I saw "From Russia With Love," this was my favorite Bond film. I really love it. The plot is about Karl Stromberg, who wants to wipe out world population and start new life under the sea, which is sorta like Hugo Drax in Moonraker. This film also features the first appearence of Jaws, played by 7 ft. 2 Richard Keil.

Roger Moore is great as Bond, and the film has great action, like every Bond film. My favorite scene is the final battle in the boat, and the flood in Atlantis, Stromberg's lair.

This DVD has great extras, like a documentary on the making of (which focuses a lot on the ski jump before the opening credits), a documentary on the brilliant set designer Ken Adam, and trailers and commentary.

It's one of the best. Period.

Summary: You shot your boat Stromberg, now it's my turn!
Review: THIS IS THE NUMBER 1 BOND FILM OF ALL TIME! The theme song Nobody Does it Better is fantastic by Carly Simon. Richard Kiel stars as steel-tooth henchman Jaws and then theres the helicopter pilot Naomi. Curt Jurgens performs wonderfully as head-honcho boss Karl Stromberg and his under-water Atlantis is stunning! Bond-girl Anya Amasova is fabulous as she rides the waves with 007 as they work hand-in-hand (and maybe a little bit more) to complete the mission. BUY this before it is too late!

Summary: The huge budget shows
Review: the massive budget this film was given certainly shows. the scenery and set pieces are spectacular.

This is another great bond film, with yet another great cast. After i had watched this about three times, someone told me they thought the plot was very similar to You Only Live twice. I can honestly say i had never realised. Looking at it now, i can see similaririts, but when i first saw it, the sames were obviously majorly outweighed by the "differents", so that statement really holds no water. All bond films are similar to another in some way, it is impossible for them to not be.

The plot is a good one, but when i saw Moonraker, i realised that with that film they had just taken the plot from TSWLM, and put it into space. so i was slightly disappointed.

The acting here is good, with Roger Moore slightly downplaying the aspects of humour which seems to creep in with his previous two. Which is a good thing. the overt humour in some of the moore films really doesn't work.

The villain of this piece is played very well by Curt Jurgens. However, he is slightly unbderplayed, and doesn't really get enough screen time. So come the end, his death seems anticlimatic and he doesn't really build up any sense of menace. Jaws on the other hand...

...is one of the best henchmen in a Bond film ever. Maybe even THE best. Whenever he is on, the screen shimmers with menace and fear. So much so that he was brough back (although slightly less sucessfully, in moonraker) The auidiences loved him. And no surprise. he is a great character, played excellently by Richard Keil.

The tension between the two spies is great, bristling. And the extra subplot of Bond having been the kilelr of the man (spy) she loved adds an extra dimension to the film, and their characters. Barabara Bach is a good bond girl, but with a slightly shaky Russian accent.

Another asset to the film, and indeed the entire series, is the introduction of Gogol as M's counterpart in the KGB. He is the best recurring character to grace any of the Bond films.

Another great haracter in this film is Carter, the captain of the USS Wayne. He is acted brilliantly, and is a brave, courageous man. If the directors had chosen to turn him into Bond's "friend" and featured him in other films, this would be have been a good move.

The last half hour of this film is probably the best and most stuning finale to any Bond film ever.

This is maybe not the best Bond of them all, but it's certainly up there in the top five.
