Summary: missing pieces
Review: This goes out mainly for the viewers who truly enjoyed this film. I have seen the "integral version" of this film which contains alot of footage edited for the USA version. It featured several hits that Leon and Matilda had and also explored the more intimate aspect of the characters relationship, giving more depth to the climactic "parting" at the apartment. They were very important for anyone wishing to get all this movie had to offer, beyond the wham bam hollywood action sequence. I wonder if amazon could make this available, I would buy one definitely.

Summary: Outstanding! Memorable!
Review: Natalie Portman's debut is nothing but outstanding. Jean Reno is touching; he truly makes you want to root for the "bad" guy. The action leaves you breathless & waiting for more. Two people in search for someone & they find that special person...but, I don't want to give too much away. If you've not seen this movie, do so now! You won't walk away disappointed.

Summary: Enthralling
Review: Wildly original. Those should be the catchwords for this movie.

"The Professional" is first and foremost and action-packed hit, but it contains angst and emotion, too. The story is about how 12-year-old Mathilda tries to take revenge after the shooting death of her family. Mathilda doesn't really mourn the murder of her abusive Dad or catty Mom and step-sister, but she does, however, grieve the loss of her little four-year-old brother who, in her own words, "never used to cry, just cuddled". (Mathilda escapes death because she is out grocery shooping when the murders occur).

Mathilda teams up with Leon, her next-door-neighbor, who also happens to be a proffesional hit man, and trains to be a pre-teen mercenary.

This is a great movie. The scenes are well-sequenced and shot, and the character portrayed by the young Natalie Portman (Anywhere but here, Star Wars: Phantom Menace) is exceptional, if understated.

This movie wasn't as 'big' as thought it would be, but that doesn't have to stop *you* from watching it! If you do, I'm fairly certain you'll enjoy yourself.

Summary: Fascinating
Review: I have seen this film just once and it impresed me much and I know I will never be tired to see it again and again because every time I will find something new something to think about. It is truly the best film I have ever seen.

Summary: Luc Besson's best
Review: This was one of the first films I saw Natalie Protman in, and one of the best. She and Jean Reno are two of the greatest actors out there. Natalie's performance was memorable and outstanding. Luc Besson did a great job directing it.

Summary: Gary Oldman at his best
Review: I am a huge fan of Gary Oldman, and I am forever hoping that the rest of the planet recognizes him for the genius that he is. This film is just one more piece of evidence for my case. His performance as Norman Stansfield is the most twisted and brilliant villain portrayal I have seen in a long time. That, in addition to the excellent chemistry between Portman an Jean Reno only add to one great action packed film. This movie is definitely worth buying.

Summary: The best movie YET
Review: The first time I saw this movie, I got stuck. This is the best movie I haw seen in my life. In contains action, friendship and a little "love". But if you haven't seen it. See the full length because if you see the cut version you will not understand what really happens. Natalie Portman rules and Jean Reno makes his best performance so far.....

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! GREAT FILM.
Review: This film was one of the most original and captivating movies I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Once you see a movie of this caliber you soon come to appreciate creative story writing and superb character acting. I haven't seen the European version yet, but I hope to in the near future. Jean Reno makes Leon an unforgettable character and Natalie Portman shows tremendous talent as Mathilda. Gary Oldman portrays the 'bad guy' with a remakable sinister demeanor. Overall, "The Professional" is one of the films that should not be missed.
