Summary: We Watched it Over and Over!
Review: I recently rented the video and my daughters (12 and 10) and I watched it about 4 times in two days (my girls watched it more). They finally convinced my 11 year old son to watch it and he enjoyed it also (although he was embarrassed to watch it around me!). My daughters loved Jacob Brent as Mr. Mistoffolees ("Presto!") as well as Munkustrap, Vicoria and the Rum Tum Tugger. Oh yes, and Skimbleshanks, Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer, and....Well, they really loved the whole thing. They watched the credits after every viewing so they could catch all the names of the cats (even the chorus cats). I saw Cats on Broadway in 1988 (age 21) and was enthralled. My husband hated it and I know other folks who hate it but I say...pooh. It isn't meant to be high art. Just really great entertainment. I doubt T.S. Eliot meant for his book of poems to be any more than entertainment for fellow feline lovers. I wish Cats was still playing on Broadway so I could take my kids. I will have to wait for it to come back to Providence. We can't wait to get the DVD for the extra features!

Summary: Took my kids to see it 3x and video is excellent.
Review: Despite snooty critics canning this production, it was always a wonderful family experience. The video is an excellent portrayal of the play which I took my kids to see 3x. If you have kids or the mind of a kid, you will dispense with the artsy fartsy critic stuff and enjoy it...Ken Giuffre' MD...author, "The Care and Feeding of Your Brain"

Summary: A Must See
Review: Superb Cast, Excellent Performance, Stage, Vocals and Production. This is a Video/Musical that you will watch again and again and again... Hats Off to the entire cast and crew. Probably silly but I'm praying for a Sequel...

Summary: Buy This Video
Review: After watching the video and going to see the show in London, I found the video to be much more enjoyable as details critical to the story are not noticed as well as the video because they are shown to you by the director.

Summary: Great
Review: As someone who has never seen CATS, this video was great. I didn't really know what this show was about and wasn't sure what to expect. The acting, singing and dancing were superb. I also liked the set. This video is not only for people who have seen CATS live and want a copy at home to watch any time, but it is also good for those of us who have never gotten the opportunity to see a live performance of it.

Summary: Cats is Great
Review: I only wanted to say that cats is my favorite video. I think the fact that it has no real plot or story only makes it better. I think the only people who dont like it eather dont understand it, or they like all there stories to be bland and organized. (if i have missed spelled at all i apologise its 3 am right now.)

Summary: WONDERFUL! I LOVE it!
Review: This is a GREAT movie that I would recommend for EVERYONE.... DREW VARLEY AND JO GIBB (Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer) WERE NOTDUBBED. Only Geoffrey Garrat (Skimbleshanks) and Veerle Casteleyn (Jemima) were. The costumes are different from live productions, but if you can't afford to see it live, get the video! The editing provides an... interesting... viewing, to say the least. It's a lot of fun to watch it over and over again and see the characters in the background interact. (Oh, yeah, those two char's without credits? Admetus and Plato; same actors as Rumpus and Macavity)

Summary: So Many Thanks
Review: I've read many different kinds of reviews about this amazing show. I've written some previously. I first saw the video about two years ago and it drew me to a wonderful group of other CATS lovers and we began and maintained our friendships since then, sharing our dreams, our thoughts and our lives. CATS made that happen. Without the show (video) I wouldn't have met some these young, lively, intelligent, and incredibly warm people and my life would be so much less interesting and so much duller. What is equally interesting is that each and every one of these people have, somehow been inspired by CATS, and as often as not, have found role models. If a single show can do that, can have so much impact on so many people, young and old alike, then it matters very little (as some say) that there is little plot to it. It entertained. It inspired. It drew people together. It united millions of individuals from every corner of the world. Its impact will continue for many long years after the show closes this year in June. To those of you who failed to get what was there to be harvested from this wonderful show, you have my sympathy. To those of you who were entertained, inspired and captivated enough to review and comment on this site, my warm and most friendly appreciation, especially my closest Cats/kitten friends, Angelbrat, Mungo, Neppy, Kalea, Quaxo, Hallie, Ecty, Demeter and Bjohn. Summary: Two thumbs, rather, four paws, up!
Review: This video is the closest thing to seeing the musical in the theater! I was able to see the finer details in the lavish costuming and beautiful makeup- this video really does the musical justice. And unlike being at the theater, there were no distractions, I didn't have to see the play around the person in front of me, and I could take the intermission whenever I wanted. I dare say that my cats even enjoyed watching the video, batting the screen with their paws!

Summary: It captures the whole sense of Broadway in one foul swoop!
Review: CATS isn't like other video-musicals where it's taken from Broadway and put into real life. They couldn't do this with CATS. This special video gives you a sense of what theatre really is. Instead of performing in real alleys and outside, it is all done in a real theatre, which is what I love about this video. And that's just about the visuals! The music is intruguing. If you are standing around, not watching the video, you'll hear the music and suddenly be interested. The Act I Finale is one of my favorite songs along with "Mungojerie and Rumpleteaser" and "Memory." This is a musical video that the whole family can enjoy and love. Definitely a good choice for the virst video in a line of them from Andrew Lloyd Webber.
