Summary: Excellent film but poor technology
Review: This is a wonderful film, although only suitable for viewers with solid french language ability, because subtitles only appear only occasionally und do not allow to follow story. Also, the picture quality is marginal. Except for this, the movie is excellent.

Summary: Worth the money
Review: This is an excellent diversion which treats serious subject matter seriously WITHOUT the tiresome moralizing so often in present in Hollywood's attempts at similar subject matter. See it if you can.

Summary: A Must Have!!!
Review: This movie definetly belongs in your collection if you are a big fan of Lolita-type movies! I am going to make my review SHORT and TO THE POINT!Acting was Excellent...Soundtrack was very beautifull...Story and plot was highly entertaining and kept your interest...The girl was very cute, adorable, and a great actress. Who cares about the age of the guy--it was such a great love story! And it gives hope! The chemistry between the main characters was very REAL and believable! DVD.THE WORST PART: My only complaint is the somewhat sad ending.BUY IT!!!!!

Summary: Great Movie, but with a flaw in the DVD
Review: This was quite an unsettling movie in ways. As a male, to have a 14 year old girl fall in love with you can be so overwhelming.

On the one hand, legalities aside, the male lead wants to do the right thing. On the other hand, how long can he hold out while she constantly pushes him to make love with her? Watch the movie and find out! Overall this was a very compelling movie.

This would have been better to watch if the DVD didn't have a flaw in it. At about the 50 minute mark the subtitles become out of sync for 20 minutes. It's unfortunate this was not disclosed, but from what I understand the VHS version is not affected.

Summary: BRILLIANT FILM, Another Horrible Fox Lorber release!
Review: This wonderfully controversial Bertrand Blair film deserves SO much better than this disgusting, muddy looking, non 16:9, poorly remastered DVD release. HALF WAY THROUGH THE FILM, THE SUBTITLES ACTUALLY GO OUT OF SYNCH!

Hopefully a company more deserving will release this, say Criterion...

Summary: Good, even for French standards
Review: Very good movie, lacks the depressing atmosphere that usually surrounds French cinema. It touched me personally, because of a similar experience also at that age, but I didn't/couldn't follow-up on it. I guess that's why it's a movie ... The real regret about this movie is, is that Dewaere committed suicide so we won't be able to enjoy him anymore (check him out in Serie Noire) and Besse didn't make more movies, at least I couldn't find anything more about her. Anyone? elsah@dds.nl
