Summary: Fresh and Romantic
Review: If someone briefly told you the plot of Notting Hill, youwould proably say that soundsho-hum.But,the proof is in thepudding and this pudding tastes so sweet! Hugh Grant plays Hugh Grant (not his namein the movie) like nobody elsecan. It's just not fair that he's so handsome and charming!Julia Roberts plays a moviestar as if she was one, well, she's had some practice,eh!The supporting cast is justexcellent! The chap who playsHugh's roomate is a scream. To top things off the musicin the soundtrack is very nice.I particulary liked "She"by Elvis Costello. The specialfeatures menu lets you playback your favorite songs fromthe movie.Notting Hill is funny where it needs to be andwarm and enchanting where itneeds to be.There's no trickyplot twists here, you know theboy and girl will fall in lovein the end,but it's a fun ride!

Summary: A breath of fresh romantic air
Review: Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts prove in Notting Hill that a movie about love in the '90's can be tender and poignant without graphic sex and profane language. I saw it several times and plan to buy it as soon as it is available. It is a movie you can watch with a date. The soundtrack, especially "She", makes a great connection between old-fashioned love and modern musical expression. For anyone who wants their faith in humanity and love restored, Notting Hill is the perfect movie. Realism is sometimes not as necessary as a breath of fresh romantic air.

Summary: A brillant work of great comedy!
Review: I must say that this movie is truely wonderful! Notting Hill has all of the elements for a "feel good" and unlifting evening for all! Romance and charm along with good old fashion humor, make this film a must for anyone looking for quality entertainment. Watch it with a friend, watch it with your love, or just watch it alone, you will not be disappointed!

Summary: English humour
Review: If you are a "fast food" video watcher, don't take this one. But if you are someone who takes the time to watch a video and enjoys the subtleties of English humour, you will have a great time. I've seen it twice and wouldn't mind seeing it again!

Summary: No Chemistry and a Gag-Inducing Moment
Review: I can't think of a movie where two stars had such little chemistry. Why Hugh wastes his time with the Julia Roberts character will remain a mystery throughout the whole movie. She continually reminds us that she just wants to be like every one else, but acts as if she if slumming it by hanging out with him and his friends. The corker is the nauseating lines she utters when she tries to repair things. BE AFRAID....BE VERY AFRAID - These words will not only make you terribly queasy; unbelievably she repeats them for good measure. The whole theater groaned and then giggled in disbelief. This sums up the whole movie. I gave two charitable stars only because I am a sucker for London.

Summary: A great movie
Review: I generally do not appreciate "chick flicks," which is what i thought this would be, until i saw it. it was funny, romantic, and had a great deal of class as well, which is truly an achievement for a movie of this genre.julia was both funny and serious, and she truly portrayed this character excellently. i would recommend this scintillating film to anyone who either likes romance or likes julia roberts. even if you aren't a fan, you'll get a good laugh!

Summary: marvelouslywonderfullyromantic
Review: I could not think of one word to describe this movie. If you are a romantic nut like i am you will love this lightly whitty, suttlely spicy lovingly romantic movie. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT HUGH GRANT COULD BE FUNNY BUT HE IS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER,

Summary: ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
Review: Wow! I never wanted a film to end as much as this one. I know now why it didn't get rave reviews in theatres. It takes forever to go anywhere and once it "arrives" it's leaves you saying, SO WHAT. The ONLY bright bit of acting in this movie was Hugh Grant ~ great in his stammering and perfectly-timed line deliveries and wonderful in the role of the well meaning, cheerful and simple fellow who falls for the unattainable lass, Ms. Roberts. Julia could have done much more with this role, but her performance left me wondering why she chose to play it like an actress asleep in front of the camera lens.

Supporting roles were good, i.e., Grant's kooky sister and his roommie, Spike. The soundtrack is nice, and fits the mood of the story, but if you're looking for a Julia Roberts love story to end all love stories, I'd pass this one up and rent Pretty Woman instead. Sorry folks, just my humble opinion! She's a good actress and wasted her talent in Notting Hill.

Summary: One of the best love stories...
Review: This movie shows very clearly that love is something that knows nothing of the peoples position in the world but breaks through all barriers. It also shows really nicely how love changes people and helps them to make decisions they would otherwise not dare to make. It was well worth the time and money. This is one movie I would recommend to everyone.
