Summary: I can't believe he did that to the girl
Review: They disect people like little pigs. I was really surprised by how well this movie is, especially since I had no information about it prior to renting it.

This is definitly a good movie to buy and watch at night with the doors closed. The story is interesting and the effects are great.

Summary: franka is smokin!!
Review: this is a great german flick, although the dubbed version really sucks if you've seen the original subtitled film because the voice over people are [bad] actors. but anyway, the suspense and special effects are great, not to mention franka potente is hot hot hot!!

Summary: THE SUBJECT IS YOU!!
Review: this movie was a kick [butt]thriller thats not even that scary but leaves you thinking if that could really happen!its not mutch of a splater flick wich is a good thing cause most horror movies just put gore to attract viewers. it seemed like an american film but isnt.plus the special features with the anna loos music video for "my truth" is the best!...and the cool thing is there making an "anatomie 2"!

Summary: Tries hard to be a good horror
Review: Tries so hard to be a good horror film but it falls short. It has the elements of being a shocking horror or a truly scary movie. The only problem is that it is just too slow paced and just never really picks up. Even in the end it's filled with an action sequence but slows down too quick to make it really sink in.

The plot actually isnt really that bad but its just not scary enough or entertaining enough to make it a decent horror film. Perhaps this movie should be a 2.5 or maybe 3 but didnt excite me in any way. It really wasnt that gory being a student in anatomy really didnt gross me out I guess. In all the acting wasnt bad at all just that it was so easy to figure out and the action scenes never gave you a sense of being trapped.

There were some really silly scenes in the film that made it kind of funny especially the historian at the end. He was yelling, "sew me back up just after those guys cut him open". I mean I dont mean to be sadistic or anything but most people dont react by saying hey sew me back up they probably are horrified and would react in a terrifying way which might give a scary element to the film.

The bad guys were just too evil and just brainless. The character was just a bit too psychotic to be taken seriously. There was really no cunning to the character...just straight evil and no brains to make it a clever character.

Summary: Horror with Brains
Review: Very good German Horror Flick. I thought the idea was good and orginal. After watching this movie I am scared to get an operation now. Guess thats not a good thing. It could have been 10 minutes shorter, but I disagree with a previous reviewer that this movie is too slow. It stops the action beacuse they are trying to tell a story. You learn a lot of about the evil people as well as the heroine. Worth watching.

Summary: A SLICK MEDICAL THRILLER
Review: When Paula (Franka Potente), an ambitious medical student receives her acceptance to a prestigious anatomy class, she believes it to be her dream come true...she is wrong!

Following in a line of doctors in her family, her father runs a small local clinic, and her grandfather is a famous doctor whose practices are studied at the school she will be attending, Paula is prepared to study hard, and be the best that she can be, what she isn't prepared for is a fight for her life.

On the train ride to school, Paula will save the life of a young man with a heart condition, and a few days later the young man ends up dead on her examining table. Puzzled by his death, Paula begins an investigation and the information she finds will be devistating, for inside the walls of this prestigious school lurks a secret society willing to go to any extreme in the name of medicine...even kill.

With no one to trust, Paula, must face the society on her own to stop the killings, because the next life they take is her's.

The German film "Anatomy" is an exciting medical thriller/horror film that grabs hold immediately and doesn't let go. With it's slick production, great soundtrack, and just enough gore, the film scores high marks for rejuvinating a somewhat tired genre.

"Run Lola Run" star Franka Potente returns to the screen among a young cast that includes Benno Furmann, Sebastian Blomberg, and the beautiful Anna Loos, who also happens to sing the main song in the film "My Truth" (her music video is included on the DVD).

Fans of intelligent slasher flicks will enjoy this.

Summary: brilliant, for a horror movie
Review: Why is it that the best horror movies are foreign? Is it that they are more intelligent and less likely to follow the tired, used conventions of Hollywood? "Anatomie" is basically a somewhat subdued slasher film, but it has the bonus of starring the always fabulous Franka Potente. Unlike the majority of horror movies, this one is WELL MADE and doesn't look like it was filmed in someone's backyard with a camcorder. Though like the majority of horror films, it is set in a college (it's always college or high school), and deals with something psychologically uncomfortable for everyone- possible dissection! Not to mention, the whole good vs. bad convention: is it a bad thing to perform inhumane studies on human cadavers if the research can possibly save lives in the future?

P.S.- don't watch the sequel. ;)

Summary: Typically German
Review: Will we ever civilize the Germans? No, not if this movie is any indication.
