Summary: Monster Smash!
Review: Transcending all need for subtitles, this Roberto Benigni acting/directing vehicle can speak volumes through its sight gags. Benigni pays homage to the time-honored mistaken identity plot line in which a poor yet resourceful con artist, Loris, is inadvertently confused with a notorious killer/rapist who hacks women to bits. Nicholetta Braschi plays Jessica, the female cop sent in to infiltrate "il Mostro's" lair. Amid Chinese lessons, a lit cigarette in the pants, rigging the alarm system at the grocers' for five-finger discounts, and keeping his landlord at bay, Jessica must "catch him in the act." So, in one hilarious sequence, while she is rattling off inane lists of things to do, she goes through sexy costume changes and suggestive body positions. Poor Loris is tortured indeed, and quotes stock prices under his breath to keep his mind off "inflation." But inspite of everything, Jessica thinks he's normal, and there is a bittersweet twist at the end. It is a riotously funny movie, with serious belly laughs. Even with the subtitles, there is so much physicality, the humor translates easily enough.

Summary: Our favorite comedy
Review: We saw this film on a film series, and loved it so much we came home and ordered it. It is our favorite Benigni comedy ("Life is Beautiful" is in its own unique class) because not only is it relentlessly hilarious, it is somehow adorable and heartwarming as well.We have been sharing it with all of our friends, making it sort of our family film.

Summary: No one can resist this movie!
Review: You don't have to be European, a foreign film lover, or a huge fan of Benigni to fall in love with this movie! It is side-splitting, stomach-hurting, floor-rolling funny! It is the funniest movie I have ever seen and I know funny! I grew up on Three Stooges, I Love Lucy, Airplane, Naked Gun, etc. and believe me this movie tops them all! So if you want a comedy that will make you laugh like you never laughed before then this movie is for you!

Summary: the funniest movie ever
Review: You must like slapstick... but beyond that all that is required is that you can double over with laughter! Don't read the critics, this is a comedy not a drama. This movie is funniest with subtitles, not dubbed.

Peter Sellers, Charlie Chaplin step aside, here comes your equal. ( Son of Pink Panther is very under rated as well.) Let yourself get into the Italian sence of humour and remember the subtitles are a lttle cruder then the actual Italian is. Enjoy.
