Summary: Overall, the film was descent, although dry at some points.
Review: The Killing Fields was overall descent. I personally liked the action scenes. I am honest when I say it got kind of dry during some portions. But, there was always another eye-catching moment that would get you back into the sway of things.

Summary: This movie is worth 5 stars.
Review: In my opion i think that this movie was great for our Government class to watch.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The movie was very suspenseful and graphic.
Review: This movie was about an American New York reporter who was currently in Cambodia with his native friend. They were both exposed to the very brutal and cruel ways of the Khmer Rouge after they over threw the former president and showed exactly why this movie was called "The Killing Fields". This movie provided very vivid images that went along with the storyline, and although they were graphic they helped to show exactly what was going on in Cambodia in the mid 1970s after the Vietnam War. This movie was very realistic because it was based on a true story and it made you feel as if you were actually there. It was a good movie over all and it is really worth watching.

Summary: This movie was very persuasive
Review: This movie is very graphic and true. I like this movie alot, and recomend anyone to see it. This movie caught my eye soon as I saw the credits.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An enjoyable documentary
Review: The reason why this movie is so moving is due to the actors and accounts of the people who lived through this horror. This movie shows a real-life relationship between a New York Times writer, and his assistant. Sidrey Schanburg is in Cambodia to report on the activates that are going on there. Dith Pran ( the assistant) and Schanburg's lives are placed in jeopardy as they fight to get the story for the New York Times. This movie is a great portal of a true life account of survival.

Summary: A graphic account of the Khmer Rouge genocide on Cambodia
Review: The Killing Fields, is a no-holds-barred portrayal of the atrocities commited by the Khmer Rouge on the Cambodians. It leaves a vivid image of war torn Cambodia in the viewers mind and heart. it also shows reactions from the Americans involved, and the Cambodians whose lives have been devastated. Not for weak stomachs, but a must see for anyone interested in the Vietman War time period.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A war of disaster which created tremendous bloodshed.
Review: The Killing Fields, introduces the horror that the Cambodians experienced when Khmer Rouge troops invaded their government. Close-up reports on the war was written by an American, Sidney and his Cambodian side-kick Pran. The film contains real images of war, and horrible scenes of flesh rotten skeletons, blood and disgusting sights. This movie is very educational and interesting to watch, but not on a full stomach!

Summary: The Truth at a Glance
Review: The Killing Fields was a very moving video. I am a high school student, therefore I have been desensatised for so long that I am not moved very often(if at all). The flick is a great teaching tool to anyone looking to educate themselves about Cambodia. I gave it a four because its got enough explosions, blood, gore, death, excitement, and knowledge to keep even the sleepiest of viewers attention. It didn't get a five due to the fairytale ending. Prang is reunited w/ Sydney, I didn't feel like that was reality. However it did not cheapen the movie at all. Its another good video that you will walk past a hundred times inthe video store and never watch. Watch it. Make yourself look at the death, and remember it. Some of the scenes makes your skin crawl, not because of blood, gore,or death...because it really happened.

Summary: As fun to watch as Schlinder's List
Review: The horror of Cambodia in the mid-to-late 1970's is all-too clearly depicted in this film about the fall of that nation to communism. It was the Nazi holocaust with an Asian face as witnessed by two reporters, one of whom escaped to tell his tale of what happened to those who were swallowed up in the so-called killing fields. Worth seeing, but not if you want to be entertained.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Tragic and touching, but long-winded
Review: Although there are mostly 5-star reviews here, this is not the type of movie to have posters with less than stunning reviews (except the political posts). This movie is obviously well-made and well-received (7 oscar nominations and 3 wins), but I found it to be too long at 141 minutes and it did not really hold my interest.

Director Roland Joffe said he interpreted the story as a love story and not a war movie, and indeed that seems to be the way he presents it. Playing John Lennon's "Imagine" at the end was a bit on the sentimental side, though.

I've watched it 2 or 3 times and just had a hard time sticking with it. There is almost enough material to expand into 2 movies.

DVD has a nice commentary, a short text-based blurb about actor Haing Ngor, a list of awards, cast/crew blurb, setup options and a trailer.
