Summary: While watching you may as well be wearing glitter
Review: This film takes you back to a time where anything went. While watching this film I was amazed by the beautiful cinamatography, I laughed at the parody element, and the touching story of a man's love for music made me cry. one of the best films of the year!!!!!! buy it. It ROCKS

Summary: all that glitters-is goldmine!
Review: best f-ing movie i have ever seen. i grew up on Ziggy and Bolan and all that glam but never thought it could resurface. it's like a dream come true. for those who really loved the movie, get the screenplay-it uncovers the strange secrecy that embodies the film. also buy Glam! a book by Barney Hoskyns with foreward by Todd Haynes himself. again, i stress, BEST movie ever

Summary: I wish I could've given it a zero.
Review: Anybody who knows anything about the era and its prime movers will scream with frustration at this confused, muddled, preposterous, overlong, pretentious (and not in a 'good' way)hideous grandstanding abortion of a film. I hope Jonathan Rhys Myers never features in so much as a daytime TV show ever again.

Summary: It is a tastefully done movie with excellent characters.
Review: This movie was wonderfully done with good cinematography, fabulous characters and a well written script. The actors chosen to play the parts were perfectly suitable for the actual characters. The content was a little on the edge, but if a person was watching an "R" movie, they should be able to handle the mature matter of all the content in the film. The movie should have won awards in the American mainstream movie industry. It did win Independent awards for best costumes (designer). There are few people I believe who would not enjoy this film, and all in all, I found it to be an excellent piece of movie making.

Summary: I sure WANT to see it
Review: I have't seen this movie yet,, but after reading the great reviews on this page I want to go out and rent it! P.S. I saw Ewan McGregor in 'Star Wars' first, and I have to say that I loved him! He's a fantastic actor, and total eye candy!

Summary: A fine tale of space-aged alienation and rock stardom
Review: The story of Brian Slade is an unusual one for the run of the mill movie-goer. Velvet Goldmine follows journalist Authur Stewart as he tries to untangle the web of fairy tales and lies, 10 years after Glam rock superstar Brian Slade staged his own death. The film also stars Ewan McGregor as Curt Wild, Brian Slade's love interest and musical partner. The movie is British so it's a little diffucult to understand but I thought it was tops.

PS: If you think Ewan McGregor is a hottie, you gotta check this movie out, he shows EVERYTHING, and lets it all flop around!

Summary: A Bright and Shinny Spectical!!!!!!!
Review: I have to say that this movie brought back a generation that was forgoten. My fantisies from years pass were just viewed by my own eyes. Ewran is outstanding as the cross-over "Iggy Pop / Curt Cobain", he really made the movie for me. A must see for all you fans of Ziggy Stardust.

Summary: This beautiful glittering snowglobe of memory!
Review: If you buy one video this century, make it Velvet Goldmine. Christian Bale, Ewan McGregor, Johnathon Rhys Meyers, and Toni Collete are all perfectly cast and supernova stellar. This film is like a beautiful glittering snowglobe of memory:Pynchon--meets Stendahl--meets Bunuel--meets Almodovar. The music is bumping. The soundtrack loses nothing without Bowie. Every frame is a masterpiece for those us taking that long look back. Todd Haynes has come into his own. Again.
