Summary: Fulci delivers the goods
Review: The late Lucio Fulci may have made plenty of films, but he will always be remembered by his fans as the "godfather of gore". His films may be badly paced and clunky at times, but he will always step in with a show stopping special effect to jolt you back to full attention. The highlight of this film has to be the infamous splinter in the eyeball scene. Fulci and FX man De Rossi love eyeball violence, and this features heavily in their films. If you like this, check out Fulci's "The Beyond", "New York Ripper", or "Gates of Hell". Don't expect Hollywood budgets, but do expect shocking violence and gore. Back to the days of the good old video nasty.

Summary: A really outstanding disc
Review: Zombie was made in 1979, but, the disc in this DVD collector's item is top `90's quality. The anamorphic 2.35 widescreen shows the film in all its glory, and the color is superb. The AC-3 is a great soundtrack, giving the film a certain dynamic presence. Over all, I gave the movie a 3, but the DVD deserves a 5.

Summary: stomach churning eye-popping gorefest
Review: Let's be honest, if you are reading this page then you enjoyed Zombie 2 (aka Zombie Flesh Eaters). Lucio Fulci never intended this film to imitate Dawn of the Dead and has succeeded in creating a classic genre picture.

Although not brilliant acting or dubbing the film sets it's mark for many films to follow.HANDS UP all those who have seen worse zombie films?Fulci has his own trademark, namely,GORE!!!!!!,and this is something in which he excels.Working on a budget of around 20$ I don't think it turned out that bad. I would recommend it to any horror fan as a must see as long as you see the FULL UNCUT VERSION. RIP LUCIO FULCI,1927-1996.

Summary: Good, but not the best
Review: This film, by the great master Fulci, is decent. It is not the best Zombie film there is, but it does have an amazing zombie/shark battle, which makes the film worth seeing. It has nothing to do with Dawn of the Dead, other than they both having long, stale, periods. All in all it's worth giving a chance.

Summary: THIS FILM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DAWN OF THE DEAD!
Review: Everyone who has reviewed this movie on here(except for a choosen few who I salute,)say "it is no Dawn of the Dead," or "its a cheap rip off of...." This film has nothing to do with Dawn, aside from it being billed in Italy as the sequel (Zombie II, Dawn being called Zombie.) So their is no comparsion. It is not by Romero, and it does not take place in a mall either, so the only thing it has in common is that their are zombies in it. The comment that it is a rip-off of Dawn is like saying Dawn is a rip-off of Night, and Day is a rip-off of Dawn. See how ridiculious that is. This film deals with voodoo, and that is the reason why zombies are showing up. A zombie wrestles a real shark! Not a fake one, but a real life shark!Ten minutes later a woman gets her eye poked out by a piece of wood...and we see the whole thing! The special effects are superb, and it is Fulci at his best. I say if you liked the Night series, then this is a must see. You will not be dissappointed.

Summary: Ignore all other reviews of this film!
Review: Contrary to misplaced popular opinion this film has nothing to do with Dawn of the Dead (it was the sequel in Italy, but so what). All you need to know is this: a zombie wrestles a real, live shark. A shark!

Summary: Awesome gore
Review: Just a cheap rip off of Dawn of the Dead. But so what its still pretty cool anyway. The story is set on a tropical island where voodoism raises the dead back to life. But i must say the script and acting were not great. Definitely not as cool as the masterpice The Beyond was(which i give 5 stars) but still pretty good italian flick. AWESOME GORE FULCI LIVES

Summary: Fairly Entertaining Zombie Plague
Review: Zombie is no Dawn of the Dead, but it is much better than Fulci's Gates of Hell and House by the Cemetery. The gore isn't what I thought it was going to be, but, it is repulsively good. The story and acting are atrocious, but, for a horror film, fairly average. The FX are good, and the end is very well-done.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Very Gory, Yet Satisfying
Review: Although pointless in story and character, this gore-a-thon is pretty entertaining, in a dumb sort of way. Tisa Farrow is the best actress in the movie, which isn't saying much. Horror fanatics, take note.

Summary: ALL BORE, LITTLE GORE!!!!
Review: I RECENTLY WATCHED THIS VIDEO FOR THE FIRST TIME. I AM A REAL FAN OF OTHER ZOMBIE FILMS BUT THIS FILM WAS DULL, BORING, AND PAINFULLY DRAGGED OUT. THIS VIDEO SHOWS ONLY FEW SHOTS OF ZOMBIES FOR A SPLIT SECOND. THE MAIN PART OF THE MOVIE IS ABOUT A BORING DOCTOR WHO SHOOTS THE "UNDEAD" IN THE HEAD WITH A GUN, THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE BECAUSE THEY ARE WEARING SHEETS ON THEIR HEADS. PREPARE TO BE BORED OUT OF YOUR MIND.
