Rating: Summary: Fulci in Widescreen. Finally. Review: I've always liked Zombie, but now that I've seen it in widescreen I'm in love with it. This is what Italian horror movies are all about. The remastered print looks better than ever. Here's hoping they give the widescreen treatment to all of Fulci's films, such as Gates of Hell, House By the Cemetary and The Beyond.
Rating: Summary: Italian Milestone in cinematic history Review: The film that beat Romero's Dawn of the Dead at the box office, you won't be dissapointed with this zombie gut munching gore filled classic! The film is a tad longer than most American films, but the ending of this film is more awe-inspiring than anything America put out around this time. Initially titled Zombie 2, it was supposed to be a sequel to Dawn of the Dead. Zombie as it is now called, is a masterpeice, the shock effects are still disturbing and hard to watch even in the 1990's. The anamorphic version of this is just incredible, the acting is quite formidable as well. THis is a must for all collections.
Rating: Summary: Do you have the stomach for it? Review: Really good and scary movie but nothing like the upcoming Resident Evil movie in 2001 which is being directed by George Romero
Rating: Summary: An excellent entertaining zombie flick! Review: The original uncut version is banned here in England so it took me some time to see the Uncut version. The film is absoulutly brilliant and I would definatly recommened it to anybody! There are some great gore effects (eg. the eye stabbing scene) and pretty good acting. This film is a classic!
Rating: Summary: Best Zombie film. Fulci Rules Review: 5 stars why? Cause this is easily the best Italian zombie flick ever. Blood and guts galore. This was originally rated x if Im not mistaked. Saw this classic 9 years ago and it still is a classic. Fulci's Best
Rating: Summary: Patience is rewarding Review: What begins abysmally slow and vapid - typical low budget horror film replete with a) dead body, b) smooth-talking investigator and c) investigation of crime scene - becomes surprisingly visceral (in more ways than one) and atmospheric towards the middle. The depiction of zombies on the island ("Montool", or something along those lines?) is fantastic; unparalleled, I'd say. From the part of the lovely eye penetration onward, you are on a joy ride. This is what horror is all about, friends. Fine, mindless entertainment - Fulci's films require a certain sensitivity and crudity all in one. Definitely recommended for those that miss the good old days of horror, from the time before the "zombie" movie critics and makers of the 90s had their way.
Rating: Summary: One of the best zombie movies ever made! Review: This movie is great! Yes, it is a ripoff of George Romero's Living Dead trilogy, and cannot top the supreme Night of the Living Dead, but I liked this more than "Dawn of the dead". To be honest, "Dawn" wasn't that great, but I liked this. If you have a cast-iron gut, and aren't squeamish, this movie is for you!
Rating: Summary: GOREGOREGOREGOREGOREGOREGOREGOREGORE Review: Pretty much, you know what you're expecting when you buy this movie. Tons of gore, and one painstakingly slow eye vs. splinter scene. And of course, the coolest looking zombies that I have ever seen. Oh yeah, and women that take their tops off for no apparent reason, which does add to the film. This is a great flick to watch with friends. This is not one to miss.
Rating: Summary: An excellent Italian gore-fest by a horror-genre pioneer Review: This movie, the best foreign zombie flick I've seen to date, is definitely worth watching if you're a dedicated zombie fan. Not only does it benefit from the pulling of American and Italian resources, but it does so extremely well with a low budget. See this film, despite its bad rap!! Expect state-of-the-art special effects (which honestly rival some of what you'll see in today's film market), an awesome battle between a zombie and a real live shark, and ancient Spanish conquistador zombies rising unexpectedly from the jungle ground to devour the living.
Rating: Summary: Genre Review: Fulci is a paramour of mine in this everlasting genre--horror. Zombie is an integrel part of life for fans with good taste.
