Summary: The image is a bit dated, but not the fun
Review: I've seen Wanda when it was released, about 12 years ago. It stayed on my memories as one of the funniest movies ever. Well, it still is appart the photography made it a bit dated. But the dialogues are still superb, first rate. The plot, too. Worth it, although the DVD doesn't have too many extras, just the now standard trailer and an 8 page booklet. Ah, it also has both widescreen and atandard screen formats.

Summary: AQuick and to the point
Review: 'A Fish Called Wanda' accomplishes what many have not. A comedy with a rediculous premise, made believable by the casting. John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis and thier supporting actors are terrific. Just enough Monty Python.

Review:

A FISH CALLED WANDA
John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, 1988

Synopsis
Four people try to hide a bunch of diamonds behind each other's back, while an innocent lawyer (Cleese) somehow get's tangled into the mess.

My Review
One of the best comedies of all time, and everyone will agree. If you don't die laughing first. It is that funny. The last scene "Cah. . .cah. . .cah. . .OH C'MON!" is a gut buster! Kline got the statue for this one.

Summary: the movie that never gets old
Review: i'll admit it - i'm extremely biased. this is my favorite movie of all time. but i like it with good reason. four great roles wonderfully played by four great actors, in a crazy but hysterical plot with enough twists to keep any sane person glued to the screen. kevin kline was born for this role and he certainly deserves that oscar, but michael palin, jlc, and john cleese more than hold their own. if you have any faith in what i say, you'll be doing yourself a favor in watching this movie.

Summary: All-time Classic
Review: Congratulations to the American Film Institute for recognizing the hilarity of this movie and voting it one of the 100 Funniest Movies. I saw "A Fish Called Wanda" at the theater when it was first released and my friend and I laughed so loudly that we were almost asked to leave. It's just a great at home...plus people won't stare at you.

The performances of all four leads are exceptional, not just Kevin Kline's Oscar-winning Otto ("It means eight"). I've been a fan of John Cleese and Michael Palin forever and, whether Python fan or not, they'll have you rolling on the floor. Palin's stutter is brilliant especially when he's trying to tell Cleese the name of the hotel ("Sing it, Ken! Sing it!"). John Cleese is subtle and surprisingly real (I know, I was surprised too) and Jamie Lee Curtis is terrific.

In this age of Political correctness, it's fun to watch a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. This movie is what a comdey movie should be: hysterically funny.

Summary: Not that funny.
Review: My girlfriend really wanted me to see this movie. She kept telling me how hilarious it was. We finally rented it and, about a half hour into it, I turned to her and asked, "When does it get funny?" Seriously. I saw nothing funny about the whole beginning of the movie. About an hour into it, we finally get to a scene that made me laugh. There were a few others after that, but not many.

Not only wasn't the movie funny, it wasn't very well done, either. The movie starts with these people planning a burglary. Then the burglary occurs and the so-called hijinks begin. Who are these people? Why are they robbing this bank? We get no background on these characters, how they met, or what their relationships are to each other. That might have helped.

Finally, what's up with the title? What does robbing a bank have to do with the fact that one of the guys has a fish with the same name as Jamie Lee Curtis' character? I don't get it.

If you're looking for a good crook comedy, check out DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS instead. This one was a big disappointment.

Review: This is by far the funniest movie I've ever seen. If you don't find this movie to be "sinfully funny" you don't have a sense of humor!

Kevin Kline pulled off one of the greatest movie performances of all-time. He definately deserved his Oscar award for his role as "Don't Call Me Stupid" Otto.

John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis & Michael Palin were magnificent.

Even animal lovers will laugh hysterically at Palin's attempts to "rub out" Cleese's witness!

This movie had so many great zingers (i.e. "I killed for the C.I.A.!), you'll find yourself laughing 10 years from now just thinking about "Wanda".

If you haven't seen it yet....what are you waiting for?

Review: You.When you rent, buy or just see this movie. It is the one time in my memory when the Academy Awards got one right.Kevin Kline is priceless in this. John Cleese said it was magicalto come in everyday and watch him(Kline)create this person Otto. My brother and I were exausted from moving allday the day this came out on video but we wanted to see it.We started watching it around 11:30 PMAs much as we wanted to sleep, This movie kept us laughing so much there was no way we was going to go to sleep.Once again every person fit their role perfect. Right down to stuffy ol George. Ohhhhh you English think your soooo superior dont you....There are just to many one liners in this movie to ever forget.Four Jewel thiefs and one barister makes for one classic comedy never to be done again.ie Fierce Creatures. So if you have not seen it.For Gods Sake Do it man! And if you have, See it again just as a refresher course in how to laugh.
