Summary: Notting Hill is tops!
Review: I have a copy of the DVD of this film and I watch it all the time. The movie is one of the best romantic comedies of all times. Both Julia and Hugh are in great form and share the stage with a wonderful cast of supporting actors. It is fun to watch.

Summary: Absolutely wonderful!
Review: My only regret is not going to see this on the big screen. I think this movie is the greatest romantic story ever. I have watched it numerous times (over 20) and it just gets better and better. I just can't seem to quit watching. Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant (who I never really cared for before this) have such onscreen chemistry. I hope that things can really happen like this in real life. Who knows. For people who thought that Julia was boring in this movie, I just want to say that obviously she played her part well. She she win more award and Hugh Grant also. Not knowing whether she really should be doing this, and always looking over her shoulder. I thought this movie was terrific. This is one movie that I believe will be long remembered years from now. Buy this DVD version so you keep skip to your favorite parts over and over again. That is if you can figure out your favorite. All two hours are wonderful!

Summary: Heavenly!
Review: This entire movie can be described in one simple word- fabulous. I love this movie so much I watched it two times in two days. Notting Hill is one of those movies that just gets better every time you see it. It made me laugh; it made me cry, and then it made me laugh some more. Julia Roberts is fabulous, and Hugh Grant couldn't be better. Notting Hill is the best movie I have seen in a long, long time. If you are in the mood for a romantic comedy, then this is the perfect movie. I highly recommend it.

Summary: FALSE ADVERTISING!
Review: There are NO Spanish subtitles on this DVD, even though the technical information and the cover claim there are. A major disappointment! The only reason why I bought the DVD versus the VHS tape was so that I could watch it with my Spanish speaking boyfriend. So be warned-- there are NO SPANISH SUBTITLES! (although the movie itself was touching) ;)

Summary: GRANT + ROBERTS= HUBBA HUBBA
Review: I was enchanted by this film. This is truly up there with the great romantics: Romeo and Juliet, Pretty Woman, Love Story, and Mr. Nanny. Roberts is a doll on screen, her presence and comical timing are brilliant. But honestly speaking, Hugh Grant is FABULOUS, especially in the scenes with his shirt off. He combines a great comic talent with true SEXUAL APPEAL, and actually steals the movie. He is definately the sexiest hunk in Hollywood. THIS IS A MUST SEE.

Summary: And Hugh Grant Too!
Review: I LOVE this movie. I've lost track of how many times I've watched it, but I'm sure it's more than any other movie I have. Warning for hopeless romantics -- it's addictive. I enjoyed the characters and performances so much that I'm thinking about buying a DVD player just so I can watch the extra scenes on the DVD version of this one movie!

One thing that really bugs me though (and I'll preface this by saying I like Julia Roberts) is how many reviews and descriptions, including here on Amazon.com, advertise this film as "starring Julia Roberts" or "a Julia Roberts film". Well for you Hugh Grant fans out there, don't let that misguide you. While there is plenty of Julia Roberts presence in the movie to satisfy all admirers, William Thacker (Hugh Grant) is the central character of the story. This sweet, adorable bloke is onscreen for all but 5-10 minutes of the 2 hour film. And to borrow a phrase from the movie, Hugh Grant is "fairly fabulous" in this role.

Summary: Relax and enjoy
Review: Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant are excellent in this lean, fast-moving story of two unlikely lovers, a British, in-a-rut bookstore owner and a glamorous American movie star who meet by accident and, against all odds, end up falling in love. Grant is superb as a perennial loser in the game of love, and Roberts as what she is, a beautiful movie star with whom most of the men on our planet are in love. The supporting cast of slightly daffy London characters adds immensely to the film's enjoyment.

If you enjoy watching movies where you genuinely like all the characters, Notting Hill is the one for you. My wife and I watch it at least once a week. It's funny and endearing and will leave you with a happy feeling.
