Rating: Summary: Loads of Bondian fun... Review: Roger Moore's second best Bond movie was also his most realistic. The film begins with Bond finally killing off arch-nemesis Blofeld, and then kicks its viewer into a tangled web of Russians, smugglers, and drug dealers. There are double-crosses abound and plenty of chase scenes. The movie also has a great Bond girl, Melina. "For Your Eyes Only" keeps to Bond standards and delivers a fun two hours that keeps the viewer entertained.
Rating: Summary: Its for everybodies eye Review: This in my opinion this is one of Moore's best films next to Live and Let Die. The best thing about this film is that it goes back to the basics. It has lots of great action in it as well. If you want to see a Bond film like the Connery movies. You need to see this movie.
Rating: Summary: THE GREATEST 007 ADVENTURE! Review: The best theme song! The best Bond babe! The best one overall! Highly recommended! Grade: A+
Rating: Summary: Roger's best Bond performance Review: Roger Moore redeems himself here after that awful Moonraker. This has a better overall story and plot than a lot of the previous Bond films. It kept me interested throughout. The villians here are top notch. A great supporting cast, including Julian Glover (Indiana Jones' Last Crusade, The Empire Strikes Back), Topol (Flsah Gordon), and the lead Bond girl, whose name I can't remember right now as I'm typing this. The only downside is that this Bond film has the worst opening scene of any Bond film. James Bond finally kills off Blofeld, but that scene is just so cheesey. Once you get to the opening song/credits, it gets a lot better. If you haven't seen any of the old Bond films, this one is a good choice once you get past the opening scene.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing, Mr. Bond, very disappointing... Review: Former second unit director John Glen took over the director's chair after Lewis Gilbert in 1981, and made this Bond adventure, an attempt to give Bond a more down-to-earth feeling after movies like "The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker". The result is a Bond movie with a number of great action sequences, like the opening scene with the helicopter, and the car chase. Unfortunately, there's not much fun in between the action scenes. The story is quite uninteresting and the movie doesn't have any exotic locations. Carole Bouquet is one of the dullest Bond girls, she can't act and she doesn't have the charm or charisma a Bond girl should have. I really like the Bond movies, but when I was watching this one, I couldn't keep from looking at my clock, hoping the movie would end soon, which has never happened before while watching a Bond movie. Not recommended.
Rating: Summary: "Greek women always avenge their loved ones." Review: For Your Eyes Only is one of the most suspenseful and romantic movie in the James Bond series. Roger Moore shines with his best acting skills in his time as 007. For Your Eyes Only brings 007 back to Earth from Moonraker and downplays the gadgets in this film. The new villian is Aristotle Kristatos. He is sophistically played by Julian Glover. He has stolen the ATAC system and with it, has a serious advantage in destroying any submarine! The new Bond girl is Melina Havelock. She is avenging the death of her parents at the hand of a hitman, Gonzalez hired by Kristatos. The music is fantastic in this film!!! Sheena Easton sings a melody that you just can't get out of your head! The only downpoint in this film is the missing appearance of "M" and the ridiculous dialogue between Blofeld and 007. But, with those points aside, For Your Eyes Only is a fine and exciting movie in the best series in the world.
Rating: Summary: Very good, with a major caveat Review: This is definitely one of the more interesting Moore flicks (Octopussy is his best), but it would be so much better with a redone soundtrack! The cheesy 80's synthesizers have got to go. Along with Sheena Easton. The one consistent thread to the most memorable JB flicks is that they all have a John Barry score. His music is timeless, and doesn't trap any of the films in the period in which they were made. Enlist the great Barry to re-score and re-dub the soundtrack, and this would be in the top five Bond adventures. (BTW, OHMSS is the best!)
Rating: Summary: Best Bond movie of the series. Review: This Bond film has been my favorite over the years and I never tire of it. Carole Bouquet is simply gorgeous as James' love interest, she is passionate and strong (not the most gifted actress but she holds her own). Her daring crossbow makes her fresh, and her passion to find revenge in the death of her parents an interesting sidebar to the "spy vs spy" storyline. The plot is detailed and fast paced, with lots of the Bond gadgets and action. The underwater scenes were well done, and the spy plot not as far fetched as other Bond flicks (such as Moonraker). Roger Moore throws in the occasional adlib, and it works in this movie. Overall, a great action movie, sure to please the Bond fan - worthy of 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: For My Eyes Only, okay honey! Review: For Your Eyes Only Risico Synopsis(novel): Bond is sent into Italy to track down a source of heroin being smuggled into England. Kristatos, an agent working for the American Narcotics Bureau, points him towards a smuggler by the name of Colombo. Synopsis(movie): A spy ship is sunk in the Ionian Sea, taking with it the invaluable ATAC transmitter, and the man sent to find it is killed. Bond is sent to investigate his killing and retrieve the ATAC.
Rating: Summary: Best Bond Film Ever ! For Me! Review: FOR YOUR EYES ONLY is my favorite all time of all the James Bond Films. (Spy Who Loved Me is my second favorite.) It has everything I love in a Bond film; 1 - My favorite Bond - Roger Moore 2 - My favorite theme song: The title track For Yours Eyes Only by Sheena Easton. 3 - My favorite chase sequences: Helicopter peril, countryside mountains, snow chasing.... 4 - The best of all the stories - I actually believed this relationship that bond inspires. In effect, this film and based on the stories of the original Ian Flemming novels, is the truest in its content and reliability for true "Secret Service" action. Roger Moore will always be the bond for me - playing closest to the novels in the sense the one eleiment that Roger brings to the character - is humor. The character is charming and has a great sense of humor if you read the books. Roger Moore gives his best performance along with Topal, this movies has energy and a lot of speed, drama and fun. The action, the exotic locals and the special effects along with the technology of the time are fantastic. It is actually one of the longer running ones as well. But you really can't tell the passage of time. This is a definite must in the James Bond Series and a must for Roger Moore fans. (8-25-02)
