Rating: Summary: A Must-See this Season Review: I saw Love Actually this past weekend on a whim. I had not heard of it previous to this occasion; however, I could not be happier that I did. Not only is the cast stellar, with the talents of Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, and Hugh Grant, but the plot is also one of the most multi-faceted and well-conceived in a film that I have ever seen, with a clever sense of humor that didn't have to try too hard to be funny. This movie captures the essence of relationships between a group of adults of varying ages and stations in life, exploring what really makes love--and life--tick. I walked into the theater expecting to be entertained for two and a half hours, which I was, but I also walked out with a new favorite film. Anyone who wants to see a funny, sweet movie this holiday season, go see Love Actually. You will not regret it!
Rating: Summary: Best Holiday Romantic Comedy Review: I loved this movie. I think I really appreciate the fact that some of the women weren't little stick figures that are unrealistic. I also enjoyed that there were several love stories into one.Yes it was the typical love story but it all connected into a creative movie. I haven't seen this good of a romance comedy in a long time. I was very impressed with the taste of the whole movie. I really felt like I could relate. It also has an awesome soundtrack.
Rating: Summary: Love Actually is a Great Movie Review: What a beautiful film! I enjoyed every moment of it and even though it was 2 hours I definitely did not want it to end! It is so well written, so funny, and so touching. It is one of those feel good movies but at the same time is also very quirky and unique. Sometimes the stories are slightly predictable, most of the time they are not. It has a very talented cast and a story that is intelligent and filled with sophisticated humour. I LOVED it! (And from the reaction of the packed theatre, everyone else loved it as well. When the credits started to roll the woman next to me sighed and said, "what a great movie" which pretty much expressed how I felt at that moment as well.) I haven't seen a movie that good in a long time. I am definitely going to go back and see it again. Just to note, I know some of the American audiences might be a bit shocked at a few of the... uh... racier bits... (I know this because I myself am American), but I would suggest that you go in the theatre keeping in mind that this is a British film, and unlike American films which tend to have no problem showing people being slashed to pieces by a chainsaw but nudity is taboo, try to get past it. This movie may have a bit of nudity (for a very short amount of time) but it is a much better story than will be found in most American movies so just get over it and go see this movie. The bottom line is that this is truly a movie for audiences who love and can appreciate a great story (or rather, not "a" great story, because this movie had several great stories in one!) and is for those of you who just love a quality, well-written film.
Rating: Summary: Great Film Review: This is the best romantic comedy I've seen in YEARS! Not nearly as cheesy as the relationship between "Peter Parker" and the girl in the Spiderman movie. Only 3, exactly 3 lines I thought were cheesy.Other than that, FABULOUS! I laughed so hard. Way funnier than Scary Movie 3 even. I saw them both one day after the other. Definitely see this one, even a guy can enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: It's Stupid Actually.. Review: I do not belive that I ever seen a movie with more cardboard characters, soap opera dialoge, and weak script clitches then this movie. All the characters it came off as shallow (almost Jerry Seinfeld clones) and I did not like or cared wither who fell in love with who and who did not get what they wanted. I just did not care about anyone in this film. It's not magical or great film making, it's just an incredibly dull, no substance movie. I think everyone who liked this movie must be as shallow as the charecters that appered in this film. Yuck.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Movie Even If Your A Guy Review: I have enjoyed the previous movies by this writer / director, that the latest "Love Actually" was brilliant. I cant wait to get it on DVD and watch it again with my wife. 5 stars !
Rating: Summary: Love Actaully Review Review: This was an excellent movie. I loved it! My mom went with me and didn't like how there were so many different stories going around but I thought that was what kept you interested in the movie. I highly reccomend seeing it.
Rating: Summary: I wish I had the last three hours of my life back... Review: When I came out of this movie and someone told me it was written by the same guy who wrote Notting Hill and Bridget Jones' Diary, I was shocked to say the least. Where do I start to rip this sublime piece of crap a new one??? Hmmm, let me see... well, for starters the bloated cast. Don't get me wrong here,I like all of the actors in the movie, with the exception of the alien fish boy (who has a disturbingly large role for some reason)but there are so many couples with so many problems that talented actors like Liam Neeson are left with nothing to do but play foil to a disturbing fish kid. Oh yeah, and that's another thing kids, there are a ton of kids in this movie but they are all in scenes where the actors have nothing better to do than stand around saying "... this and sod that and ...'s yer uncle and bugger me!" and speaking of buggery for some reason they just keep throwing in these scenes with this couple doing stand-ins for a porno? It's ilke you're watching a G-rated romantic comedy and then all of a sudden BOOBS and not pretty boobs, Gwyneth Paltrow boobs. I'm talking deflated balloons nailed to a 2x4, gross, pale, english boobs. Ah well my ire is spent, do yourself a favor and skip this one; rent Notting Hill or Bridget instead, both are better films with plot lines that have a beginning, middle and end.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Out with the Girls Review: I really enjoyed this movie along with my 20 and 30-something single girlfriends. It was witty, romantic, funny, feel-good, and overall enjoyable. I'm just an average person who enjoyed the movie worth the ticket price:)
Rating: Summary: i'm still smiling :) Review: Love Actually is a big warm fuzzy of a movie. It's very touching and heartfelt. Leave your cynical side at home and let the love wash over you! My husband (romantic comedy avoider) and I both really enjoyed this movie. I can't wait to buy it for use as a little pick-me-up on those days when it seems the world has gone totally dark.
