Summary: Yea, where did the Scarecrow go?
Review: Yea, where did the Scarecrow go? I share Robert Wheeler's thoughts - and frustration! I was looking forward to this DVD release with anxious anticipation - as a big fan of Patrick McGoohan and as a fan of this fantastic film. Disney seemed to be releasing a lot of its older live action films, and this is probably one of the top! Disney, wake up!

Review: I love watching the scarecrow as a kid. And now, in a time when comic strips are being made into full length movies and remakes of the original televison series, I believe that if there were a remake of "The scarecrow", It would be a box office hit.Can somebody get the message to the disney studios?

Summary: Wha' Hoppen?
Review: Does anybody have any information on what happened with this DVD? A release date was announced a few months ago (I received my pre-order alert from amazon.com); now that date has disappeared, and hasn't been replaced. I checked Disney's website, and it doesn't appear on their release schedule. What gives? More importantly, when's it coming out?

Summary: About Time Dr. Syn Was Back!
Review: Disney's television series, known as various times as "Disneyland," "Walt Disney Presents," "Wonderful World of Color," "Wonderful World of Disney," etc, presented some outstanding stories that never made it to film in the US--this was unquestionably the best, a rousing adventure tale with smugglers against soldiers, hidden identities, and the great Patrick McGoohan in the lead role. McGoohan has apparently stated that the performances he was the most proud of were in THE PRISONER and in the two films he did for Disney, DR. SYN and THREE LIVES OF THOMASINA (also coming to DVD). SYN is a must-buy for anyone who remembers those great Disney series--so can we lobby for GALLEGHER next????

Summary: Where Have All the Scarecrows Gone?
Review: When I was a kid in the sixties, my friends and I were so inspired by the Dr. Syn series we would dress up and play "Scarecrow." W'ed gallop around the neighborhood, kicking through the crunchy autumn leaves on stick horses, trying to terrorize colonists. As is turns out, we were merely cute, but the effect was everlasting. I think I love Halloween all the more for it.
I'd so love to see the 135 minute series again. You may not make a killing on this one, Disney, but re-release the entire series for art's sake. And if you don't want to do it for art's sake, do it for your own ego's sake, because "Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow" is one of the very best works your studio has ever created!

Summary: Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow
Review: Come on Disney - what are you waiting for ? This movie is one of the all-time best. I am a 48-year old who remembers vividly the fascination of watching this series back in the 1960's. I have gone to several Halloween parties dressed and made-up as 'The Scarecrow', and each year at the beginning of autumn I search high and low for two things (and have yet to find them): a really scary scarecrow Halloween decoration and a DVD of the full 135 minutes of the Disney classic. So what do you say Disney ? ---

Summary: So, how long is it? 90 min. or 135 min? Why don't you tell?
Review: I'd dearly love to see Dr. Syn the Scarecrow reissued, complete and in good form. But has it been? The whole 3-part series is 135 minutes long; various reviewers warn us of a 90-minute condensed version. Here what have we.....well, Amazon doens't really say, do they? Caveat emptor. If Disney smartens up and makes the whole product available (and Lord knows they could do it any time they want to), I'll snap one up right away. Until then......methinks not.

Summary: The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh
Review: I would echo others in urging Disney to release this action packed family adventure on dvd soon. It's a must-see for any Patrick Mc Goohan fan. He was perfectly cast, and I saw the three-part version when it first came out. I would also like to add that if anyone at Disney reads this, please issue the long, (135-min) version, of the combined 3 part series. The 90-min. abbreviated version that was making the rounds 20 years ago was far too short.

Summary: Bring the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh to ride again on DVD..
Review: First, I'm a 31 year old and I'm using the kids format. My little brother and myself truely love this great classic of a movie. The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh is Dr. Syn, the town vicar or minister who is loyal to the British Crown, but when darkness comes, he changes his idenity from the loyal minister to a most feared ghostly figure who is only known as 'the Scarecrow of Romney Marsh.' The person who plays the part of the Scarecrow and the vicar is non-other than the great British actor Patrick McGoohan, known for his work in The Prisoner and Secret Agent. I like the old movies made by Disney, including 'The Great Locomotive Chase', Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, and the Herbie movies, Dr. Syn Alias the Scarecrow should be brought back too. Please bring Dr. Syn Alias the Scarecrow back on DVD and VHS format.

Summary: Disney HAS TO release this
Review: When I was a kid Disney was a Sunday night must. The Scarecrow was one of my favorites. Now that I have kids of my own my son has become attached to Zorro. Disney needs to release the programs that the "Baby Boomers" grew up with so we can share them with our families.
