Summary: Purrrrfect.
Review: This is a great film! Ever since I first heard of it when I was 7 I have always wanted to see it. Now thanks to "cats" the movie I have. I loved it so much that I have started to beg my parents to take me to the brodway performance!!

Summary: The original one-song show rates one smelly furball!
Review: If you're a kid under six or the eccentric owner of more than, say, 10 or 12 house cats, give this dog five stars. If you are a somewhat discerning, semi-intelligent adult, own zero to one cats, and have a modicum of good taste, two dry furballs is very, very generous. To be fair, however, when "Memory" is sung, there aren't enough stars in the sky for this truly brilliant performance of a beautiful classic show song. But when the song ends, it all comes crashing back down to a mediocre, grossly over-rated one-song dud worth a single very wet and smelly furball. Your kids deserve better -- go for Cathy Rigby in "Peter Pan," "The Lion King," "Beauty and the Beast," or "Annie" on CD instead. At least it'll give their imaginations a workout and they won't have to look at a lot of poor, struggling actors embarrass themselves in those ridiculous costumes.

Summary: Great Play, well done video, too many special effects
Review: Summary says it all. The special effects take you out of the real life play feel of the video. other than that (and there are not really a large number of times these come up) it's an incredible video, very pleasent to watch

Summary: CATS IS GREAT!!!!! MAY IT LIVE now AND FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Cats is a great movie filled with fun, excitment, and adventure. It's a show for the whole family. It showed what CATS really are instead of just nothing. It changed everyone's mind about cats and cats alone.-- With all the awsome scenary, all the beautiful costumes, and expecially all the talented people. Some things in the show you think is as easy as pie. It probally took a real long time to memorize all those dance moves just for a movie and a play. It is my favorite musical. With all the creative names each and every one of us has our own favorite. My favorite is Rumpleteazer. Who is yours?

Summary: Yawn
Review: Obviously 80 billion people would disagree, but I have never understood the popularity of this trite, over-sentimental rubbish. Call me sour-puss (ha-ha) if you wish, but I think Lloyd-Webber musicals are the worst thing that ever happened to the stage, so there!

Summary: Totally Amazing
Review: I have always loved cats and this video is sensational! I am always amazed at the way the actors really move and get into the roll of the cats. You forget they are people! My favorites are the Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffolees, "Memory" by Grizabella and all the others! I have the original book of poems for the songs from Cats, the cassette and the movie! It simply the most wonderful and beautiful musical of all time! I never get tired of watching it, and I never will. Truly a great work of art appreciated by even the most enthusiastic cat-hater (is it possible to hate cats?) I encourage EVERYONE to see it, especially live! You CAN'T regret it, it's so marvelous! Three HUNDRED cheers for Cats!

Summary: Very Good
Review: I'm Purrdita. You may not know it but I am really Grizabella in this life--as you recall I was the cat who was reborn. I couldn't have done a better job telling the storey of my life. The voices were very good--especially Elaine Paige who took it upon herself to play me. She was very convincing. My only criticism is that I wish "Growl Tigers Last Stand could have been presented." the music was varied and well written. This a good production for almost everyone, young and old. After my caretakers had attended several times (at $50) a show and could only tell me about it because I wasn't allowed in the theatre it's about time that it appear on video. I just love it when my caretakers play the video and I can see the story of my former life. Buy the video.

Summary: An enhancement to your memories of seeing it live
Review: The experience of seeing Cats live can never be duplicated on a television screen, but this video is like an intimate private showing of the musical, done just for you. It isn't the same as live, but that's okay, it is still a great video. What I love the most is getting to know all the characters through multiple viewings, even the minor ones who have no lines or songs. Elaine Paige's performance as Grizzabella is show-stopping. Also noteworthy is the actress who plays Jemima, and sings with Paige briefly in Memory. Jemima's voice is beautiful -- I wish there was a CD of this video just so I could hear Jemima. For fans of Cats and of musicals in general, this video is well worth adding to your collection

Summary: My 5-year old loves it!
Review: Believe it or not - my five year-old son is mesmerized by Cats. He has asked for the video from Santa. The costumes, the set and the songs are memorable. A definite gift for theatre and feline lovers alike.

Summary: Wow
Review: I love Cats. I saw it for the first time on PBS and I would like to watch it everyday! I'm annoying the heck out of my mom to get her to take me to see it on Broadway.I love Rum Tug Tugger's song and Mr.Masoficlees(?). The dancing makes me want to learn how to dance!
