Summary: The Review~
Review: I think that this CD deserves an above-average rating, though not the best. I like the first song, "Spice Up Your Life." It is a very positive song, which is actually hard to come by in these days. The rest of the CD...well...it's not as great. "Move Over" is a nice song, too. If this CD had more songs like the two I just mentioned, I would have rated it a 10.

Summary: Great to dance or clean your house to!
Review: Okay, so I'm not the biggest Spice Girls fan but I have to admit that this CD is awesome. The songs are so upbeat that it just makes your toes tap and before you know it you are dancing around without a care. To all those critics... the Girls can sing, quite well I might add, and to recognize their individual voices on each of these tracks is really great. I recommend this CD to anyone who likes to dance, hey maybe it will spice up YOUR life!

Summary: Just as fun as the last one.........
Review: Yup. The album cover includes the same thing. A white background, the word 'Spice', themselves.....the music is not the same, and that's good. But the Spice Girls kept the word 'fun' to their album and I had to gulp down a whole can of Pepsi in one breath after singing along with it. 'Spice Up Your Life' was a great start, and the goodness did NOT fade away. It was pure spice, and the last song was a big surprise to me, since they're singing some jazzy song from the 60's! Pretty boring, eh? BUT IT'S THE SPICE GIRLS!!! You know what they're doing. The album is DA BOMB.

Why is it an 8??? Yesh, you see, I expected something different from 'Spice', but when I first saw the cover, it's similar to the cover from 'Spice'. So.....yeah.

Summary: Spiceworld could have been a lot better!!!
Review: I am a great fan of the Spice Girls mainly because of their first album. I expected the second to be a whole lot better. I consider this entire cd a big adveritesment. The whole cd was an ad for their movie spiceworld, "Do It" was like an ad for NIKE, and "Move Over", which should be called "Generation Next" was an ad for PEPSI.

Summary: The singers are rockin my world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: The first song, spice up you life, rocks. But then the farther that you get into the CD, that's when the goodness of the CD begins to deplete. This dosen't mean that the whole CD in the end is bad, because it isn't. If you are looking for a fun CD with not much meaning to it, then this CD isn't bad at all. If you want to go deep, then you should choose a CD with a little more complexity. The best part about it though, is that the people singing really have fun doing what their doing. The spice girl's message is totally, "GIRL POWER!"
The really stand up for gilrs doing things their way, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Better than Spice!
Review: Back when this was released, I thought that this was really great music, and up to this day, I still think its. This is much better than its predecessor as the girls give each other space to sing. The songs here are much more energetic, carefree, fun and happy. It was no wonder why these girls were so successful. Eac song is laced with very good instrumentation, empowering lyrics, and the girls quirky vocals. This is the best soundtrack to youth pop music could ever offer.

Summary: GIRL POWER RULES!!!
Review: Since the Spice Girls broke into the US charts with "Wannabe", they have been scorned as making "bubblegum" pop music. However, the truth is the Girls are much more than that. They do write their own music, which is more than one can say about similar "teen" acts like Britney Spears or N Sync for that matter. Every song on this album is commendable because they are all well-written and well-produced. "Spice up your life" is a cool party song, and so is "Never Give up on the Good Times" which recalls the Supremes. "Stop" is another catchy pop song, complete with a danceable motown-inspired groove. "Too much", which is the theme song to the movie "Spiceworld" is a beautiful ballad obviously inspired by big bands of the early Hollywood era. Very classy indeed. The only hiccup on the album is "Move over", which is featured on the Pepsi commercials on TV. With the girls chanting "Generation Next" over and over again, it sounds like a crass marketing tool. Real Spice fans should check out the import version of "Spiceworld", which features a bonus track "Step to me" which was originally written for the Pepsi commercial. It is a very catchy dance tune that should have been included on the US release, instead of "Move Over". Overall, "Spiceworld" is a worthy follow-up to "Spice". The Girls could've chosen the obvious hit-making route and collaborated with producers like Babyface, Timbaland or Sean "Puffy" Combs to ensure US chart success, but instead they chose to stick with their "Spice" producers Absoulte and Watkins/Stent. And that shows that they are sticking to their guns and making music by their own rules, not those dictated by the industry. GIRL POWER!!!!!!!

Summary: Spiceworld (1997)
Review: In 1996, the Spice Girls saw the beginning of their fame when they released their first album, Spice, which produced the five spin-off singles, Wannabe, Say You'll Be There, 2 Become 1, Who Do You Think You Are, & Mama. Now, exactly one year after their first album's release, the girls brought us their second album, Spiceworld. The album as to coincide with their movie of the same name and was also made the soundtrack to the movie. Very much like what The Beatles did back in 1964 when they did A Hard Day's Night (both album and movie) and in 1966 when they did Help! (both album and movie).

SPICE UP YOUR LIFE
The first single from the album. I first heard this on Q-102 (for those of you who don't know what Q-102 is, it is a Philadelphia FM Radio Station). But the version I heard on the radio was kind of a mix in a way and it led me to believe that it was done by a different band. When I heard this version, which is the album and single version, I was proven to be wrong about thinking it was done by somebody else. It's a classic song and consists of every girl power hype sound within it. The song means you have to have fun in life. Life is too short to be bitter, so, Spice Up Your Life.

STOP
The third single from the album. The single was released in early 1998 and it was to be Geri's last single with the girls. I have heard three different reasons to why Geri departed from the band. The first is that she and Melanie B. had a serious outting. The second is that she tried to be the boss of the group and was kicked out by the other girls. The third was that Geri had musical differences. The third reason is what I believe is true and that is because it is true. Anyhow, this is a great song.

TOO MUCH
The second single from the album. This is a beautiful song and the jazzy sound is unbelievable. In the video. The five have their own individual scenes, but never a scene where they are together. Geri has a black & white scene, where she is dressed up as Marilyn Monroe (her idol) as in one of her movies. Victoria is in a factory, where she is dressed up like Catwoman, although the outfit is not like the original TV series Catwoman outfit or Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman outfit. Melanie B. has scene out of the Mad Max movies, where she wears a bikini top, black baggy pants, and bullets around her shoulder. Melanie C. has a scene from Lord Of The Dragon, wher she wears a red-magenta colored muscle half-top, black baggy pants that show here shins and ankles. She wears hair extenstions that are the same color as her top. Emma has a scene from Poltergeist, where she is in a room where objects float around her, while she wears a plain white nightgown.

SATURDAY NIGHT DIVAS
Not bad.

NEVER GIVE UP ON THE GOOD TIMES
They should have released this as a single. It's a great song. It is like a sequel to Spice Up Your Life, (even though this one has a fun Pop like song) where they say that you can't give up on the good times you've had.

MOVE OVER
In their short time together, the girls recorded two songs for Pepsi. The first would be a song called, Step To Me, which is an album cut. The second be this one right here. Although, they did not release it as a single, the girls, however, filmed a Pepsi commercial, using this song within it.

DO IT
Not bad.

DENYING
This one is not bad. Still holding onto their girl power sound, but the girls threw in a bit of R&B into it.

VIVA FOREVER
The fifth and final single from the album, although it is not a US single. The girls released this a few months after Geri's departure and was the first single where they used an animated video. It is a beautiful song and I always make sure to listen to it before turning off the album.

THE LADY IS A VAMP
Geri was big fan of everything that had to do with entertainment from the 40s, 50s, & 60s. This song consists of a sound from the 40s, but talks about everything from the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s, like Elvis, Ziggy Marley, Bond Girls, Charlie's Angels, 60s model Twiggy, Jackie-O, Marilyn Monroe (but addressed by her real name, Norma Jean Baker), Sandy and Danny (from Grease), etc. The song's finale fit the song perfectly, where they call out their Spice names.

Still filled with their girl power sound and remains as their second best album.
