Summary: Proof that drugs cause brain damage
Review: The concert footage, while not featuring Zep at their peak, is a must have for any fan. But the fantasy sequences and faked back stage scenes are at best annoying interuptions of the real show.

Summary: Well worth the wait
Review: Yes, this video takes a while and even the most die hard Zeppelin fan would have a problem with the non concert footage, this video picks up and gives the fan who wasnt old enough a chance to see one of the greatest bands of all time. Being a true beleiver Page, Plant, Jones and Bonham put on an exciting and riveting show with the pure drum power of "Moby Dick" and the "Heartbreaker" and "Whole lotta love" mix. This video is for the Zeppelin purist

Summary: Poor filming but strong performance
Review: Much of what has been said of this film is true-- the poor footage, the fatigue of the band and the dated material. However, this video portrays what raw energy Led Zeppelin were capable of on even an average night. Page in particular displays a mind-blowing combination of speed, articulation and taste. Jones and Bonham give jackhammer bass and drum work, while Plant is in the peak of his vocal range. If you forgive the indulgences of a vanity rock film and use this video simply as a time capsule of one of rock's most gifted bands, then The Song Remains the Same will excite even the harshest Zeppelin critics!

Summary: It's about time!
Review: When this video came out, in '76, it was right after Robert Plant's son died, and the band was taking a break. Even though it had been filmed in '73, Zep fans, like myself, were greatful for anything. Making video's may not have been their strength, but with music like they made, who cares. If you're like me, and never had the opportunity to see them live, this video is a little taste of what you have forever missed.

Summary: They picked the wrong concert
Review: I have been a fan of The almighty Zep, since I was 12, (which isn't all that long ago). I always heard how they were the concert to see. So when the video came to local store, I rented it. I have all the albums, shirts, posters, so I think I am a fan. But this was not a good show, the songs were wrong, the concert itself was taped in 1973 and released in 1976, and for three years it should look better than a glorified home video. The fantasy scenes were ok, but why the effects were overused, for such a bare bones Rock and Roll band, only using a wah for the guitar effects. I do not want to ever see Robert Plant with the camera looking up to him. I am not a urologist. The cool part was the band with their family. Robert and Karnac was a nice scene. The guitar was majestically played, as was the drums, by the Late Great John Bonham, and John Paul Jones, was his usual, cool, and collected self. Robert Plant, was well.... Robert Plant, in the good and the bad. Well, thats it, buy it if you want, but rent it first.

Summary: A MUST
Review: If your'e a LED ZEPPELIN fan this video is a must! The fantacy sequences of each band member are a little silly, but the live concert footage gives you the essance of what LED ZEPPELIN was!! Also the behind the sceens footage gives you a feel for what life on the road is like.

Summary: Led Zeppelin - Some of the best blues-rock. Video - Boring.
Review: For some, just the shot at seeing the band play must be a thrill. I loved L.Z. album I, most of II and IV, some from V, and a few cuts from the other albums. (I have the Complete Studio Recordings set. I want to get the BBC set!) I still consider some of their song renditions the best in blues-rock.

A fan of the songs, I never followed the band. I never followed any band. Didn't point my finger to the sky to say #1. (I considered them the best rock band that I knew of at the time, ages 12-18, but it was the MUSIC.)

I didn't like the live sound on their album (heard at about age 17) or on the video (seen at 37). Frankly, I found the video boring. So, my * vote is for the video, not for the music, and not for the band.

Now if only someone had spotted some of the music on the albums to the video....

Summary: Makes you feel like you're right there with them!
Review: When I went to get this movie I really knew nothing about it,I could have been taking a risk, but I knew that anything Led did was ok by me.When I first watched it I was in shock,I wasn't lucky enough to live in the times of Led,but when I saw this it was like I was there at one of their concerts,or backstage with them,I love it,I never tire of it! It definately is a must have for any true fan of Led-Zeppelin!

Summary: Forever a classic in any age of music.
Review: Led Zeppelin stand with the Beatles and Pink Floyd as being the masters of the 60's and the 70's. Sure you can add Jimi Hendrix in to the mix, but this isn't a guitar legends magazine!!

Summary: Page mistakes + bad editing = Mess
Review: OK,OK I admit it..I am a typical American male in my 30's and went to see this 942 times at midnight showings in the 70's.But nostalgia aside, the band just weren't on this(these)nights. Couple this with horrific editing and MANY scenes reshot on a soundstage makes for a trying experience. What makes this an absolute disaster is that I STILL prefer Zep to any of the garbage that I hear/see now....Ahh progress!
