Rating: Summary: Strange, to say the least Review: This movie is so completely weird. It explains everything you ever wanted to know about life, well, not really, but that is the name of the movie isnt it? It covers the wonders of reproduction, catholic beliefs, corporate pirates flying a building taking over, and of course, the in-escapable subject--sex. I thought some areas rather funny, but some must have been made while someone was on a bit too much LSD. I dont know if i would recommend it, but if you really want to see it, go to the movie store and rent it every time the need arises.
Rating: Summary: British humor at its best!!! Review: Before I start my review, I want to say that I haven't seen any of the other Python movies, so I am not comparing it to the others. After a friend kept saying that I had to see this movie, I finally rented it and laughed until I was sick. Other than the overlong short at the begining, this film was great. The best skits were the "Every Sperm is Sacred" song, Learning and Growing, Live Organ Transplants, and the fat man sketch. I know it was gross, but I think it was the best of the bunch. Sick humor has never been funnier!!!
Rating: Summary: Setting the record straight. . . Review: I rarely ever write reviews on this website, but after reading a few on this film, I felt obligated. If you know anything about Python, you know that it is their wit and ground-breaking comedy that sets them apart. This film, in my eyes, after seeing all of their Flying Circuses and all of their movies, as well as a load of solo works, is the best one they've done. Not only does it convey the spirit of their television show with its wit and surreal stream of consciousness, but it the funniest of the three. I warn you, that if you do not like Python, if you do not understand their brand of comedy, or if you are easily offended, do not see this film. If you love thier work, and appreciate them as the greatest thing ever to happen to the comedy world, then please see it. Do not be discouraged by slanderous reviews. This film is offensive, it is disgusting, and it is different than any other comedy film you will ever see. That's why they are Monty Python, and that is why no one will ever touch them and few will understand them.
Rating: Summary: brilliant as always Review: Although it is the worst movie from them, it is still very very very funny! I couldn't stop laughing when i saw it, and i've already dreamed with the weird elephant from the middle of the film one hundred times! The sperm song is fantastic, and so is the machine that goes 'bing'... I said it was the worst movie only because there are some bad parts, and the creamsom in the beginning is quite weird...but, anyway, is 100% better than any other american movie. It is so necessary as the others...
Rating: Summary: Funny, hilarious, rauncy...but... Review: I am a Monty Python fan and this IS a classic but...I'm still not fully satisfied. There are some parts where you just crack up such as "The Machine that Goes Bing!", "Conversation Dinner", "Every Sperm is Holy," and "Heaven." But I have to say, half through my interest was totally lost. I had to tell myself,"This is Monty Python, you love Monty Python." There some really outrageous great parts, it's just you have to wait for them and REALLY like Monty Python. So, just letting you know.
Rating: Summary: Maybe not the best, but essential Review: Maybe not the best Monty Python film, but it's definitely an essential part of a fan's collection!
Rating: Summary: BING! Review: One of the best! Ranks right up there with the Holy Grail! Let me warn you of two things: 1. Do not see this movie if you are oh, under 14 or so. 2. If you are easily offended, steer clear! But if you crack up at every crude Python joke, this will be another to laugh at! All the secrets of life explained with humor. (Including our favorite 'Fat Man' scene) I can see how it offends some, but if you are easy-going, go right ahead. If disgusting, ridiculous and crude things don't bother you- ENJOY!
Rating: Summary: A Great Musical Comedy Review: This is my favorite comedy, right up there with Spaceballs and Search for the Holy Grail... Who could forget those musical numbers? This movie has so many great skits in it, and you'll never stop laughing... Only Monty Python can make even death a hilarious subject! And what about the "pirates"? Only MP could make up such things, youll love it the first time you see it, and youll catch more every time
Rating: Summary: Their last..And sadly, not their best. Review: The opinions on the production of this movie have varied between the Python team. John Cleese felt that the movie was a nightmare to make, whereas Terry Jones thought it was the best thing they have ever made to date. I have to agree with John Cleese on this. I thought this was probably the worst movie they have made as a team. It is also sadly their last. It spends too much time being vulgar and resorting to sexual humour and lacks the usual Python wit of their previous films. Although, there have been sexual innuendo's in their past movies, it is over done in this one. There are a few good scenes in the movie, I thought the WWI scene with the soldiers paying respect to their commanding officer by giving him various elaborate gifts while their being killed one at a time was very funny, as was the Liver Doner and Find the Fish. But the jokes are so far and in between the movie does not work as a whole and I left feeling very unsatisfied afterwards.
Rating: Summary: Who'd have thought? Review: Who'd have thought that Monty Python would figure out the meaning of life? Not only did they do it, they did it humorously. You can't say this is the best Monty Python movie, because they were all fantastically funny.
