Summary: This is without a doupt...a classic movie!
Review: There are a few reviews here that claim that a clockwork orange is for perverted and sick people only, that is the most stupid thing I've ever heard! The film is a masterpiece, as is Stanley Kubrick (now dead). I saw this film when I was 16 and did not feel sick or 'turned on' when watching it (as some people writing reviews here claim I probley do), I did feel sorry for the many different charactors though. This film makes a comment about the way the world is becoming a dangerous place in a very clever and artistic way. Overall, as long as you don't think that ID4 is a intelligent film or that Dumbo is a bad film for children because of the part when dumbo becomes drunk (ie. your at the mature age when you can watch a film without protesting at the slighest hint of sex or violence) then I see no reason why you should not enjoy this fine film.

Summary: This film was way ahead of its time!
Review: This film didn't suceed, in its 1971 release. Because it was so far ahead of its time, the 1971 audience couldn't understand it. However when it was re-released in 1981; it was a smash hit. Society had advanced enough to comprehend the film. I had to see it 3 times to understand it!

definately A Must See!!

Summary: Excellent, for those who appreciate a genius at work
Review: Stanley Kubrick, need I say more ? The man was a genius. This movie may have been disturbing to some people, maybe they should stick to Disney movies. It makes you think, and is well filmed. It will always be considered a classic !!

Review: The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, 2001, Star Wars, Once Upon A Time In America, all magnificent movies! And A Clockwork Orange is added to the list as well!

Summary: A Clockwork Orange: Simply Brilliant!
Review: A Clockwork Orange is one of the finest films of all time, a masterpiece in directing and screenwriting. There are some who think that it is upsetting and offensive, but what these people fail to understand is that the film is about a criminal, and criminals do some pretty awful things. Just because Kubrick was brazen enough to show us these shocking images doesn't mean that he condones them. Some people have been so brainwashed by what their peers and parents view as "acceptable" that they simply refuse to allow themselves to enjoy anything that is controversial or outrageous. My Catholic mother raised me to be open minded and to enjoy all forms of art, and it was she who first introduced me to A Clockwork Orange, her favorite movie and mine. Watch it, and refuse to allow what others have misled you to believe sour your experience. Clockwork rules!

Summary: a disapointment
Review: People are so caught up with the fact that this film was made by Stanely Kubrick that they fail to realize that this movie is very bland. Yes there are some very good filming techniques, but it wasn't very satisfying. The story is great but it was brought down by the non-stop nudity which was completely superfluous most of the time. Does every house in the movie have to have pictures of naked ladies hanging from the walls of every room? Give me a break! The only people that would rate this as a five star movie are either people who are perverted or people who are stupid and think that every Stanely Kubrick film is a masterpiece.

Summary: Not for the faint at heart.
Review: I saw this movie in the winter of 1991 and was probably seven months pregnant at the time. I found it to be one of the more upsetting movies I've ever seen; and I've seen a lot of movies. This type of film would attract persons of an anti-social nature and was so difficult and strange to follow. I don't recommend it to anyone and don't think its appropriate for anyone under 18.

Summary: A brilliant case study of violence and human nature.
Review: This movie is the best example of what a brilliant director can do with a brilliant script. Everything fits perfectly. Burgess at his best, kubrick at his best. A masterful examination of violence and human nature. It entertains as well as educates. The late director mixes gloriously pictures and music. Brilliant performances by everyone. It is obscene but never offensive. It is profane but never vulgar. It is art, psychology and prophesy together. Best seen and not talked about. Buy it, watch it, treasure it.

Summary: Staring into the face of human nature
Review: This movie was excellent, it makes you think about the petty oppinions that we wedge between eachother. A Clockwork Orange defined what it is to be human, to have a choice of your actions and thoughts, because without that you are not human at all. Without that choice the entire meaning of life is taken away from you, you're a robot. I have read the book and seen the move and I can definatly say that this is a modern classic, who's theme can stand the test of time. It was voted one of the 100 best movies of all time and it was certainly deserved. The questions of human moral and the rights of judgement arise. This is why life is worth living: to be able to chose what you do, what you think and the things that you expirience that make you who you are. A masterpiece!
