Review: When Ned wins the lottery he is so happy that he dies.The lottery man is coming and so 2 people of this small Irish village want the money for the town(supposibly thats what Ned would want). Everyone sighns a paper that says that they will get a share of the mony!all but one person sighns and thats the problem untill she falls off the hill in a telephone booth! I loved this movie.

Summary: The poignancy of it brings me to tears
Review: All I want to say about this incredibly uplifting movie is that I always end up crying at the funeral scene, when the lottery representative enters the church and the protagonist has to do some quick thinking to avert disaster. He ends up eulogizing his own friend who is sitting in the pew in front of him (see the movie and you'll understand) and the poignancy of that brings me to tears every time. Another nice twist has to do with paternity at the end of the movie (I won't spoil it for you). And the swells of celtic music with the helicopter shot at the end leaves you with such an uplift -- IT'S SIMPLY AN INCREDIBLY HAPPY, HAPPY MOVIE!!

Review: I've seen this movie 3 times. It is so nice to see a movie that makes good use of comedy, timing, scenery, music and acting. It's a movie everyone can enjoy. Waking Ned Devine is my new all-time favorite movie.

Review: I am a sane, 53 yr. old woman who has seen this movie eleven times! It is like going on a little trip to Ireland for 1 hr. and 40 min. The characters are charming; the story very interesting with lots of twists and turns and will leave you with a smile on your face!

Their antics are framed by other side stories of love, betrayal and loyal friendship all of which take place in the breath-taking scenery of Ireland. The haunting celtic music is also wonderful. This movie is a heart-warming, quirky tale with a surprise ending that will make you laugh outloud.

Review: MY BROTHER HAD MENTIONED THIS MOVIE SEVERAL TIMES, AND AS I SOMEWHAT DEPEND ON RECOMMENDATIONS OF OTHERS BEFORE SITTING DOWN LONG ENOUGH TO BE ENTERTAINED, I DECIDED TO RENT "WAKING NED DEVINE" AT FIRST, IT WAS A CHUCKLE, THEN AT SOME POINT IT TURNED INTO FULL BLOWN LAUGHTER. A SWEET MOVIE, GREAT ACTORS!!

Summary: Bit O' Irish Fun
Review: Waking Ned Devine is a wonderful, hilarious movie that focuses on the antics of two old (but not down) men who hatch a brilliant but very risky scheme that if it works, will bring wealth to their small Irish town, but if it fails will land them in jail for fraud. The performances by all are so good, you are drawn into the movie and in love with all the characters from the start. A subplot of romance between a beautiful single mother and an earnest (but smelly) pig farmer adds to the general warmth of the movie. The end scene is one of the most well-executed ones I have ever seen. It is a real show stopper. My brother and mother watch this movie over and over.
