Summary: For all of you Jet Li fans - This Movie is GREAT!
Review: I went to this movie scared of what Bridget Fonda would bring to the mix. After seeing her in the role of La Femme Nikita, I was worried that no matter what the plot, no matter how good the martial arts, and no matter how the directing of Luc Besson went, the movie would not be good...

Well fortunatly, I was very wrong! I love to watch Jet li flicks and this one was no disappointment. The martial arts, while brutal, were enthralling. I was on the edge of my seat feeling sorry for the bad guys!!

The plot was not nearly as weak as Romeo Must Die, and the cinematograhpy was wonderful! I read the summary at the start of this page and would like to say that it must have been written by a person who has no love for a good martial arts flick.

So I say to you, if you like Jet Li, and you like his movies, this one is a must buy!!

Summary: Jet is simply the best
Review: I would definitely give a five star for this movie, the fight scenes in this movie were fantastic. Jet had showed his extraodinary martial art skills in this movie which only he were able to perform. I watched Kiss of the Dragon five times in theatre during the summer. I would have to say this is one of his best movies. And I can't wait till it's released on DVD. And for all you Jet Li fans out there watch out for his new release sci-fi martial art movie in theatre November 2nd "The One."

Summary: Okay Story, AWESOME FIGHT-FEST
Review: Within the past few years Jet Li's stock has risen in the United States as a great martial arts action star. His latest offering is "Kiss of the Dragon" which is another great add to his resume. Much like fellow Hong Kong star Jackie Chan, Li is known for his thrilling (albeit more BRUTAL) action sequences that dazzle the audience. This movie holds true to his reputation and does not disappoint.

The basic story premise has Li, a Chinese cop, taking a case in Paris where he is framed for murder. He spends the rest of the film avoiding the evil cops that set him up. In the mean time he befriends an unwilling prostitute whom he unknowingly has plot ties to and together they work together to beat the bad guys.

Overall, the plot is pretty decent, but the movie does a VERY poor job of setting up the actual story. There are gaping plot holes such as "what was his mission?" and "WHY did the bad guys do what they did?" However, being an action flick I suppose the plot isn't THAT important because everyone just came to see him kick butt right? And that's exactly what happens throughout the two hours this movie runs!!!

If you are here to see great fight scenes and killer action, this is the right movie for you. The sound track for the movie during the fight scenes is just awesome. You WILL amaze at the stunts Li pulls off.

Things to Watch Out For: Jackie Chan this is not. While Li, like Chan, is known for THRILLING fight scenes, he is also known for VERY GRAPHIC fight scenes. If you are squeamish do be aware there are a few VERY BRUTAL and graphic fight sequences in the film. You have been warned.

Overall, despite a few minor plot holes, this film is basically what you would expect: a testosterone fight fest. If you're looking for action, you've got action here.

Recommended (if you want action)

Summary: kiss of the dragon
Review: Jet Li is just plain wicked, I love this movie. I wish he would have accepted the part that was for him in Crouching Tiger, Chow Yun Phat doesn't cut it. This was and is the only movie I will watch in theaters this summer. Li's skills are extradinary and unparrelled. This one's way more gruesome than any movie I've seen him in, and I love it. As I watched it i could hardly refrain myself from yelling, "Did you see that!!!". This one is among his best films and won't dissapoint. I can't wait to see his next film "The One" this fall.

P.S. : buy all his films, the jet is truly, hands down the greatest of all martial artists in movies today. Maybe ever.

Summary: welcome the dragon
Review: This is a great action-packed movie. Jet Li played his lead role superbly and Bridget Fonda did an excellent job as well. I also have to note that Tcheky Karyo did an amazing job playing his part. The storyline was fantastic. Please: GO SEE THIS MOVIE. It's worth every penny of your money. JET LI RULES!!!!!

Summary: Jet Li: stranger in a strange land
Review: Miles ahead of the atrocious "hip-hop meets kung-fu" film Romeo Must Die, Kiss of the Dragon is one of Jet Li's finest efforts to date. No "homeboys" in this one. Kiss of the Dragon takes place in Paris, France where Liu Jian (Jet Li) is on assignment to oversee a Golden Triangle heroin sting when he is framed by a local, high-ranking law enforcement officer, Inspector Richard (Tcheky Karyo) who see's Jian as a threat to his own dirty work. Jian's best hope to prove his innocence is Jessica (Bridget Fonda), a North Dakota girl who is hooking on the streets of Paris, but she won't speak out against Richard until Jian agrees to save her daughter from the dirty policeman's clutches. As with most martial art/action flicks, the story exists as something to tie the action sequences together.

Naturally, the best thing about the film are the martial arts. And the best thing about the martial arts in Kiss of the Dragon is the lack of "wire-fu". Indeed, the standout fight would have to be Jet Li taking on a couple of highly trained Aryan's near the end of the film. The movie also looks great: Beautiful dark photography underscores the filthy underbelly of Paris with its street trash and immigrants. Be warned, there is some really graphic violence in Kiss of the Dragon. The villian (Karyo) is not some politically correct wimp. Unfortunatley, there is a great fight in which Li takes out some Black dude, but it's a victim of choppy Western editing. It's very difficult to see the action. Bridget Fonda seems to have been thrown into the plot as an afterthought, to provide motivation for Li. She really has no buisness in this flick. Though the plot is full of holes, Kiss of the Dragon makes for one of the more entertaining and enjoyable movies of the year.

Summary: Jet Li EXPLODES Off The Screen!!!
Review: If you love action movies, this movie is a must see. It's everything a summer blockbuster should be. I haven't seen Jet Li throwing so many hard hits since "Fist Of Legend". This is definately 100 times better than "Romeo Must Die". And as mind blowing his performance was in "Lethal Weapon 4", "Kiss Of The Dragon" blows it away. Trust me, Jet Li is much more lethal in this movie. His best American movie thus far. This movie is not for the faint of heart, I have to classify this as the most violent Jet Li movie I have ever seen. I have seen most of his HK movies, and not one of them can touch this as far as on screen violence. You will definately react each time Jet Li finishes off an opponent in this movie. He doesn't just hurt the guy, he kills the guy in the most violent way possible. So parent advisory is a must. I especially love the way he uses the acupuncture needles as weapons. It's so inventive, but not an original idea. And for those of you who say that using acupuncture needles in kung fu is not possible, I am here to say that it is possible. I've been exposed to the Chinese martial arts enough to know that it's been used for thousands of years in China for medicinal and fighting purposes. Martial arts fans from around the world should now be aware that Jet Li is one of the best martial artists the world has ever seen, not since the legendary Bruce Lee had we had such a genius in kung fu. I can't wait to see "The One", it'll be awesome too.

Summary: Same old story
Review: The action was OK, some good parts. However, Jet Li does deserve credit. It had some parts that were just so unrealistic at times, I lost some interest. Understanding the opening scene is so confusing, it seems the movie may as well not had a plot, other than Li was framed, but why murder the Chinese guy getting a ride?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Unbelievable
Review: For anyone who likes fighting movies, this one takes things to another level. Highly recommend this movie. I took my lovey and she (who doesn't like guy flicks) loved it too.
