Summary: Better than GoldenEye, But...
Review: The new DVD of TOMORROW NEVER DIES is really the previouslyreleased Special Edition from last year. The plot is almost a direct steal from 1977's THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, which in itself is a major re-working of 1967's YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. David Arnold is the first Bond composer, other than John Barry, to return to the series (he's the composer for this year's THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH), although perhaps he uses the Bond Theme a little too much. I am disappointed that k. d. lang's song Surrender was relegated to the end credits. Since Arnold uses this theme as a motif throughout the film, Arnold obviously intended it to be the title song. I don't care for the Sheryl Crow song and had to utilize the English subtitles to understand the lyrics. This writing the title song after the score is complete, and penned by a different composer, is a mistake in the series, starting with LICENCE TO KILL

Summary: Pierce Brosnan is Bond's Best
Review: I believe that this Pierce Brosnan is the best actor that James Bond films have had since the begining of Bond films. This film and the one before have given James Bond Films a new life. Please enjoy them. I hope that we will have more to come!

Summary: How could I not like 007?
Review: The first 2 movies that I ever saw were "For Your Eyes Only" and "Octopussy"... I was about 5 then, and I have loved Bond ever since. "Tommorrow Never Dies" is most definitely a good Bond movie, and I think that Pierce Brosnan is great for the role. The only part of the movie I didn't care for was the theme song... and I like Sherryl Crow, but that sucked. I do agree that the most recent 007 stories have pulled away from Ian Flemmings charachter a bit, but it's starting to go back to the times and styles of Sean Connery's time as James Bond. Theres not enough of the good ol' torture and fights... too quick to the guns. James Bond is supposed to be a rough guy and a great spy, and it's getting back to that, which is great. Brosnan is great in the role of James Bond, it is obvious how into this role he is, and how much of a great time he's having being James Bond. That totally comes through in this one, more than "Golden Eye", that's one thing that makes "Tommorrow Never Dies" so great.

Summary: One of the smarter schemes to appear in a Bond film
Review: I love it for the fact the plot makes sense and is actually ingenious, Jonathan Pryce manipulating the media to start WWIII. To be honest, I always prefered the quiet wimpy villains to the macho "he-man" terrorist ones. While, overall, not one of the best, it's still great and fun!

Summary: Falls short
Review: This Bond Movie wasn't as good as the Connery one's or even the Dalton Yes I liked him. I have all the bond movies this one had a great story but by the end the story takes a back seat to the action. Maybe next time for the band films. If you like you action fast and loud by this film.

Summary: This is a good Bond Movie
Review: Pierce Brosnan makes an excellent Bond. He has all the style and charisma that the role demands. I do get the impression, however, James Bond is beginning to get less like Ian Fleming's original character. This film has too many gun shoot-ups that make it look like any other action flim. The diversion from the original character began with Moonraker when James Bond became an outer space hero. It spoilt the credibility of the series and destroyed the main elements of Fleming's original character. I would recommend this movie and I hope Tommorrow Never Dies has less machine gun shoot-ups and more James Bond stealth, afterall he is supposed to a spy!

Summary: "Bond! You know the rest!"
Review: After leading the role in "GoldenEye", Pierce Brosnan returns as 007 to deliver yet another great performance. James Bond has certainly met his match when it comes to Elliot Carver and Stamper when Bond must uncover who forced the Devonshire off course. He discovers that it was Elliot Carver and while meeting him, he also meets a former love of his, Paris Carver. While all the same, Elliot Carver tries to start a war between the Chinese and the British mainly for ratings, by destroying a ship and plane on each side of the opposition. I can't stress enough how much of a classic Bond movie this can be catagorized into because of all the elements involved. Overall, this is a great movie and will please even the smallest Bond fan.

Summary: Ugh
Review: Although Pierce Brosnan rocks, the movie does nothing for him. What happened to plots? Acting? Good dialogue? I suppose it is all a thing of the past. But in all fairness, I didn't epect "Tomorrow. . ." to be the second "Casblanca", they could of tried a bit harder.

Summary: a fine Bond movie ---- much better than Moore
Review: TND is a fine Bond movie. I think it is much better in the first half, before it slips into just "Die Hard" action stuff. The movie works early because of the whole "former lover" strand that is running through the plot. But that is dropped and he action begins and there isn't that feeling of revenge by either Bond or Carver...wasting the first half of the flick.

TND is a good Bond movie and a good action movie. Balance between reality and total fiction is the line that good adventure movies have to tow - good Bond movies blend these well. This one is successful by doing this better in the first hour - not the second.

Summary: Smart, Thrilling, And Lots Of Fun.
Review: "Tomorrow Never Dies" proves that James Bond is ready for the 21st century. Pierce Brosnan is one of the best of all Bonds and ranks right up there with Sean Connery. But what's so fun about this film is it's plot and the way it's structured with a weird yet interesting story and some fantastic action sequences. At the start of the 007 franchise, Bond battles what was seen as the ultimate evil back then, Communists. Today, he battles the media. The bad guy is just fun to watch as he plans evil schemes and tries to take over the world through his news empire. "Tomorrow Never Dies" also kind of gives a message about how important the media and communication are in today's world, and how they affect our lives. But aside from that, "Tomorrow Never Dies" is a thrilling, action-packed ride full of great suspense, romance and characters. I was never bored and my attention never strayed. This is one of the best Bond films, definately better than "Goldeneye." David Arnold's score is pure excitement. "Tomorrow Never Dies" also has a lot of visual style that adds to the fun of this movie. In the end, it's entertaining, fun, interesting, and thrilling.
