Summary: Knock Off
Review: Knock Off is good but he used a double wen he did some of his karate. the action is good

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Can I give it negative stars?
Review: knock'off', n. 1. an unlicensed, cheap copy of something, esp. fashion clothing. 2. when somebody makes the exact same movie several thousand times and nobody notices 3. a really stupid movie with Van Damme in it

Knock Off is the exact same movie that Van Damme always makes. He enters, is followed around by some groupies, there's some action, there's some comic relief, then more action, then a finale where he jump kicks someone off a building, or into a fire, or into someplace lethal. I have a problem with all of these bits because they are all so incompetently done. I especially have a problem with someone so stupid as Jean Claude Van Damme having groupies. If Van Damme can have easily excited young women follow him around and scream "eeeeee!" in high pitched voices, anybody can.

This particular movie follows Van Damme's attempt to foil a super-evil Russian plot to make fake cheap fake blue jeans that are so badly made they are easily torn in half by Deuce Bigalowe, Male Gigolo. (gigolos are defined as being male, so specifying that a gigolo is male is extremely stupid, but I'll insult that movie later, after I see it) The previously mentioned evil Russians will then flood the market with these cheap jeans, thus putting all rival blue jean making companies out of business, until Russia controls all of the world's blue jeans and will then be able to rule the world somehow. There might be super advanced microchips involved somewhere. Other than that, it's a really bad movie. The best part of the movie is the high speed rickshaw chase. Really, there's nothing more I can say after that. Don't see this move. Ever.

Summary: this is a good Van Damme action movie
Review: ok the movie is good but it could have been better...i like this movie and the action scences are really good and i like the little beat that it has at the end of the movie with the action parts ...it's a good action movie but if your looking for drama or anything else you won't find it here that's in the movie Nowhere To Run...this is a good movie because of the action that van damme puts into it......van damme is the best and always will be the best martial artist ever

Summary: another Van Damme flop
Review: purely for fans of crappy Van Damme movies again like I says. really corny from beginning to end. Paul Sorvino is totally and utterly fat and moronic in this one. Rob Schnider is wasted and WHY THE HELL WAS HE IN THIS I will have no clue. Van Damme kicks more butt and does more corny things then he did in Double Team. with horrible dialouge and a plot that seems like it came from some guy wiping his ass with a piece of toilet paper and then saw it on the piece of paper and said HEY!!!! damnit, lets make a movie about this piece of crap right here.

Summary: Plenty of Action
Review: Since the latest Van Damme movie releases have barely contained any action scenes, it's refreshing to find that Knockoff is full of fighting and martial arts sequences.

Unfortunately, Van Damme tries hard to appear somewhat [slow] at the beginning of the movie, and then suddenly becomes serious and then [slow] again. While I can't explain the need to change personalities, these transitions do reduce the plot to nothing more than an unorganized mess with kicking and punching tossed in between.

Summary: If it wasn't set in Hong Kong it would have sucked.
Review: The acting, script, and special effects in this movie are bad even by the usual Van Damme movie standards. What is Paul Sorvino doing here? If this movie had been set anywhere else other than Hong Kong, it'd be awful. But for some reason, having it set in Hong Kong actually seems to make it work. Kind of like a tribute to the cheesy Hong Kong movies of Jackie Chan, Jet Li, John Woo etc.

Summary: Not bad... but not good either.
Review: The best thing about this film is the cinematics. Being a student filmmaker, I was awe struck by the action scenes and how the camera never stopped moving. The camera operator must have gotten hurt from all that stuff flying all over the place! I recommend this movie to any other student filmmaker. That's it.

Summary: Movie was a let down
Review: The directing was too wierd to keep up with. The plot was not at all great. I think Van Damme should go back to movies where he really uses his talents.

Summary: Van Damme Coasting on a half-tank
Review: The film was better than I expected it to be (then again, I was expecting it to be total garbage), but that's only because of the hong-kongish editing and panache that Tsui Hark excels in. Rob Schneider is reasonably funny, but not as funny as Jean-Claude as a totally mismatched 'fashion' designer. It's a step down from Double Team, and far from his best action flick. But any script from DeSouza is worth a listen. Rent it anyway.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: I could not watch it again
Review: The movie was full of action and John Schneider was a very effective comic relief. However, the plot, although plausible was not easy to follow and there were to many relationship gaps in the movie.
