Summary: The best Chow Yun Fat movie yet!
Review: Chow Yun Fat gives non stop action! This was the first time that I saw him, but he is better than most action/adventure actors.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great action!
Review: Good chemistry between Mira & Chow Yun Fat. They should have made the two assassins that go after Fat smarter. They looked tough but they sure didn't act that smart.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great action flick!
Review: Chow Yun Fat and John Woo are a winning combination for action. Very stylish and well filmed.

Summary: No replament for Replacement Killers
Review: As an action movie Replacement Killers is a smooth and artful alternative to the typical "formula" action movie. The imagery of this dark and seedy L.A. helps sets a tense feel thourgh out the movie. It boarders on fine art, the action is fast and smooth. The plot is straight forward and does not try to trick the watcher with contrived twists. All these elements work together to make a great overall action movie, well worth owning.

Summary: Action packed with a focused storyline, a sensory wonder!
Review: Having reviewed multiple Director's and DP reels at an agency in Beverly Hills, CA, believe me when I tell you that this flick is a true masterpiece! The storyline is simple and uncluttered, the music is hot, plus each and every visual sequence is pure artwork. Nirvana for those who know what to look for. When is the last time a movie moved you? Director, Antoine Fuqua is the man! THE ACTION JUST WON'T STOP !!

Summary: Probably one of the worst films I've ever seen
Review: I had such expectations for this movie with Chow Yun Fat in it and John Woo producing. Unfournately, it turned out to be very dumb and poorly acted. Rent earlier Chow-Woo movies like the Killer or Hard Boiled and you will be happier. Also, check out Woo's 3rd and best American film, Face/Off

Summary: Dual guns blazing!
Review: A hip, slick action movie. In a time when action movies are all the same damn thing, this one stands out. The pairing of Chow-Yun Fat and Mira Sorvino worked extremely well, and the shootout sequences were perfect. I recommmend this flick to anyone who is a fan of gun-heavy action films.

Summary: Great soundtrack & okay film
Review: I love action movies, & "The Replacement Killers" definitely delivered the action. The soundtrack was great, and perfectly matched each scene. However, there were a few negatives. Even though Mira Sorvino graduated from Harvard University with honors, it doesn't mean she's a great actress, regardless of the Golden Globe & Academy Award that she won. Her acting in this movie was poor. Maybe she could shoot a couple of guys with a gun & look pretty while doing it, but it didn't mean that she has stunning acting abilities because of that. Chow Yun Fat had the moves & he had the looks. The plot may not have been captivating, but it still kept the movie together. Overall, a good movie to see.

Summary: A Well-Done Art Action Film.
Review: Some movies are made to be seen for the effect and drama and emotion, others are made just to be entertaining and to drink in the visuales, "The Replacement Killers" is just that kind of a movie. This is a film to admire and view for it's look, for it's style and the artistic touch it brings to scenes of violence. In fact, there is no need for a story, there is only a script and plot to make sense of what's happening on screen. You really can't expect an intelligent plot in a movie titled "The Replacement Killers," but this isn't about story or drama, it's about style. It's an excellent American debut for Chow Yun-Fat, who really knows how to make these films. It's no wonder it was produced by John Woo, one if not the greatest of action filmmakers. Take away the plot and you see that this is a very well-done action piece, with scenes that deserve to be seen twice for the detail in the cinematography, the colors, the detail in the violence and action. The entire film is one rich work. Add that to the soundtrack, full of great techno as well as Oriental music. It's a hyper and active piece that shows how violence can be turned into an art form through the art of film. "The Replacement Killers" is entertaining and yes, the story is interesting, but I enjoyed it because of all the style on screen. This is an ART film at the most. Like "Blade" or "Spawn," "The Replacement Killers" should just be appreciated as an art film. It's never boring to watch. A well-done action piece.

Summary: Not what I thought it would be
Review: I don't know if the "special edition" is an improovment over the theatrical release, but the original was a big downer.I was honestly expecting alot more from this movie based on the teasers&trailers. It started with an excellent opener, and after that...it was all down hill.A dull action flick without much eye poping action, much of it had been done 100 times over in numerous other films&done better.I did'nt care either way what happened to any of the characters,I was just waiting on who got wasted next. It's not terrible to watch once, but that is all it's good for.Certainly not worth purchasing to own.
